No Social Media, No Problem! Let’s Grow Your Audience!
Are you finding yourself in the overwhelm of social media and you’re just praying and trusting that it will take off? Instead, you could be learning ways to take action on how to build a following with absolutely zero presence on social media.
Since leaving social media Sandy has had ZERO regrets and has no desire to return to the platforms she once felt completely pulled towards. We know that podcasting can replace it all. It provides a whole different kind of connection with your audience and is able to reach more of your audience because there’s no algorithm to compete with.
Building an email list or expanding on your current list can also be a great way to still reach out to your audience and keep them up to date. Think about where your audience is hanging out. Social media is known to have so many negative factors, why continue to pull them toward that? Be determined to find other ways to reach your audience and allow them to connect with you and your business.
Turning away from social media allows us to find a place that is able to give us more life instead of stealing our time. It’s more than just us. It’s thinking about the women we are being called to lead and showing them that there’s another way, a way to create more space and freedom. It can feel terrifying to go completely off social media but we can start by slowly phasing it out. It can honestly feel like an addiction and be hard to detach from but it allows more space for us to focus and nurture other components of our business.
Do You Need to Take a Break?
Are you feeling the tug to leave social media?
Are you stuck finding yourself not able to put the phone down?
Do you feel so tied to social media that your business needs it to succeed? Maybe you’re even afraid to leave because, without it, your business would fail.
What would it mean if you were to open up time and space in your day and step away from it all?
Pay attention to the awareness you’re having around the feeling of being stuck on social media. It’s real! There is a reason why you are feeling this pull to keep going back even though it might not be helping you to grow your audience and business. Try taking a break and see what it can do for you and your calling.
There’s Another Way!
There are those of us forging a path in the direction of leaving social media behind. It is so freeing and life-giving to step away from it all! Now that we’re on the outside looking in, we can see that it was stopping us from making an impact and earning an income! It actually was doing zero to grow my conversion. We think this is a tool that is helping us to grow, but this is actually the tool that is making us stay stuck!
If you find yourself looking up from your phone and asking, “Why am I here and how did it get so bad so quickly?” pay attention to those discernment alarms.
God was giving me an invitation to lay it down. I had a choice to make and went to the Lord for discernment on what brings or gives me the most life. When I felt the like it was finally time to say goodbye for good, yet I was battling the many voices saying “Your platform is still too small” and felt the pressure to keep up, I found myself spending hours a day and it still wasn’t enough.
Are Your Discernment Alarms Going Off?
Have you tried to set boundaries with social media? Maybe you’ve already tried:
Taking “breaks” or fasting from social media for 30 days, 60 days, etc.
If it’s not working and you find yourself, saying, “Do I have to stay here? I hate it,” then maybe it’s time to make a choice.
Maybe God is giving you an invitation to lay it down. You have a choice– choose the one that brings the most life.
If you are feeling this pull away from social media, and your discernment alarms are going off, ask yourself the four questions above and then follow the steps:
Trust Him and take action when it doesn’t make sense
Choose the one that gives life, not success, not more likes, not more validation, the thing that gives LIFE.
It’s not about me anymore. It’s about the women I was called to lead. You can’t find me there anymore, because I don’t want you to find me there anymore because I want you to go someplace that will give you more life as well.
It might be stairsteps. Walk out whatever God asks you to do. What is God going to ask you to do first? Take that first right step.
If you just create some distance between you and social media, and if you need a break that often, then follow these steps:
Pay attention. The addiction is real, and you’re willing to admit it at this point. You might even be afraid of leaving social media, you’ll have no friends, and it’ll affect your business.
Start by taking a break
Bring your fears to the Lord and ask Him to help you navigate this. If you feel like you are stuck there, it’s because you are and that’s what’s supposed to happen. It’s real. The fears you have are real, they’re common.
Social media is not the only way. Yes, you will be the outlier, but there is a thing that is starting. We are forging a path for you. Come on, let’s figure this out. I promise you, God is not bound by anything, if you’re willing to take that step. Go for it.

The more I get to know my students and the more I participate in masterminds with my peers the more I’m starting to comprehend the overarching problem and prevalence of one, perfectionism, and two, overthinking.
Perfectionism keeps us in a place of constant consumption and learning. Redoing things over and over and thinking that we can’t move forward until they measure up to some elusive standard.
