8 Pinterest Tips to Increase Traffic to Your Podcast
1. Name your photos with SEO key phrases to increase traffic from search engines
Don’t leave the title of your photo as the random name it was assigned. Change the name to an SEO-specific title before you upload it to Pinterest as a graphic. If you don’t know the basics of Pinterest, when you join Podcast to Profit I teach all the basics and also have bonus training in the course.
Once the graphic with a new title is uploaded, name the graphic inside Pinterest something similar with SEO-specific keywords as well. Keep in mind that Google can read the name of your photo, so using SEO keywords is an important Pinterest tip to increase traffic!
2. Don’t spam pin to Pinterest
Pinterest stops featuring your pins if you spam so don’t do it! Pin relevant pins to relevant boards only to keep Pinterest featuring you.
3. If you want to increase traffic faster, always use fresh content and pins
As a podcaster you already have fresh content, just make sure you are showing up consistently in your podcast and creating a new pin or two for each episode. Pinterest tips the scale in your favor when you are consistent with new, fresh pins that haven’t been featured previously. This means using your own branded photos is best as well, to avoid the same free stock photos you see too often.
4. Pin other people’s content to your own Pinterest boards
If you only pin your content, Pinterest will stop featuring your pins. A huge Pinterest tip is to make sure you are pinning other people’s content along with yours. It helps other people get seen and it helps Pinterest stay happy with you and continue to feature your content. It’s a give-and-take with Pinterest, but make sure what you are pinning is very relevant to your boards and content.
5. Increase traffic more by giving away value on some of your pins
Don’t do it every time, but sometimes you need to give away some value on the graphic itself. This will help you get the repins and increase traffic to your podcast. Is your podcast episode talking about the three tips to grow in your faith as a Christian mom? List those three steps on the graphic itself. It is ok to give away some value on occasion! This will get you those repins and engagement onto your pin as well as more followers.
6. Use Tailwind to increase traffic without extra work
Use variations of the same title to get more visibility and capture the eye of a variety of personalities
Use triggering words in your graphic titles
8. Link pins directly to your podcast to increase traffic to your show
Create a graphic that drives Pinterest traffic right to your podcast on Apple podcasts. You can create more than one graphic, with different SEO words and increase traffic to the same podcast episode. Keep it simple and you will see an increase in traffic straight to the podcast. No need to create a blog! In fact, I don’t recommend you create a blog until you hit at least 20,000 downloads.
Use these eight Pinterest tips to increase the traffic sent to your podcast straight from Pinterest. You will be able to spend less time working to grow your show and business and spend more time doing all the things you love!
