Podcast SEO is so important so your show can get found by the right people. That’s why my friend and client, Tiffany Vaughn, came to me for help with her podcast strategy! We focus on getting clarity on the solutions provided by your podcast and developing a keyword strategy by picking super sticky SEO-driven taglines. Let’s dig in!
Get Clear on the Solutions Provided by Your Podcast and Your SEO Keyword Strategy
Let’s look at your messaging, podcast title, and tagline.
We’ll start with your pillars. What it all comes down to is, “What do you want to do? What do you want to help people with? Why are you even starting this podcast?”
If we can get the solutions provided super clear, the title and tagline are easy. You want people to click and know it’s for them. Think about what you want to talk about 80% of the time. When you’re telling your story, and connecting with your person or people, what do you want them to get from that? Let’s put this into pillars and try to have five of them.
So often, we go through what we go through because God is preparing us to be the testimony for other people. You’re living the hard every day, but the hard is beautiful. The hard is the journey.
If you’re getting emotional on your show, as you relate to your listeners, they will be here for it because they’re going through the same thing. Give yourself permission to be vulnerable.
Looking at your audience: who are you talking to? Would you talk differently to different groups of people?

Your Brand
Think of your brand as a triangle. You are at the top because we are all our brand. Right underneath that, we need to have a title. Then we need an SEO-driven tagline. Both are important elements of your keyword strategy. These then stand on the legs, which are the five pillars.
Tagline
We want people to know what’s inside when they see your tagline; what are the solutions provided? Put them in your tagline. This is going on the channel art and we want it to be super sticky.
Title
Look at descriptive words that encompass your pillars. Once you settle on your title, make sure the domain is available and do a search of podcasts to make sure it’s available there as well.
Channel Art
The title should be super big, and easy to read. Use one bright color that really pops. Add a photo, the tagline, and your name.
Once all these components are set, everything will be clear. The people that need the solutions provided by your podcast are going to find you because you’re going to be the first one that pops up when they type in that search bar. Your search terms and keyword strategy will be good and you’ll be speaking to their emotions.
