Instead of telling people to just buy what you are making, you are finding out what they want. That is the heart of any business. The key question to ask to be able to grow your online business is: “what does my avatar truly want?” This is how you know you are moving from something that is just a hobby to something that is a business.
The first step in learning how to grow your online business is to just start
Friend, God has a calling for your life. He has a beautiful purpose for you. You may not know all the steps, you may not know the how, but if He has placed on your heart a nudging to do something, you better be obedient!
I didn’t know exactly where my podcast was going to take me, but I heard so clearly from Holy Spirit to start the podcast, that I knew I had to begin in faith and trust that God would show me the next step when He was ready.
If God has blessed you with a gift, who are you to keep that in the shadows? He has blessed you so you can be a vessel for sharing His love and light in the world! So if you are called to start a business, trust in His plan for your business and go!
The most important piece of a successful strategy is intimacy
You heard me right. It’s not closing a sale, it’s about opening a relationship and having empathy with your audience. When you’re considering a launch, a 5-day challenge is going to bring so much more intimacy with your audience over a webinar.
With a 5-day challenge, people get to actually see and experience you. They get a free sample of what it’s like to have you show up consistently for them and get a taste of what a longer journey of working with you will be like. They will be more likely to want to continue that journey because of what you have poured into them during the challenge.
How to grow your online business and successfully launch with a small audience
When you decide to run an event like a 5-day challenge, a successful strategy is to reverse engineer the plan. Work backward from the challenge date and between now and your event, you need to focus on connecting with people who don’t know you yet and make deposits into them.
You can’t withdraw from an account that’s empty, and it’s the same with people. You can’t expect anything from others until you have made deposits into them. Start by pouring into people to earn trust so they would be willing to take their time and come to the next level of engagement.
So how do you make deposits to get people to join your event?
Put out in the world who you are and what you do.
Make connections by sending simple messages with no sales. Show up and serve! Word of mouth is how businesses grow.
Don’t just post something, ask a question with it. Make it fun and easy for people to respond. It gets you engagement, and then you can respond to deepen those connections.
We think to make a big launch successful, it’s about having hundreds of people in the challenge or event, but it is actually about having a quality relationship with people who trust you.
A successful strategy for launching requires you to go deep
Most people think that the numbers are what’s important, but it’s far better to have a smaller audience that is intimately connected to you than a large audience that isn’t engaged. You don’t need to have a huge audience to make impact and income when you focus on building intimacy with your audience.
There is a difference when people feel served on a deeper level. Sales is service, and people want the implementation not just information. So when they are engaged in the process and you’re launching with a challenge that gets them involved rather than just giving them “how-to’s”, your conversion is going to be higher.
How to grow your online business with a Podcast
In addition to launches, a podcast is an easy and reliable way to grow your business! And the same strategy of intimacy applies here too. For podcasting success, it is important to bring your listeners into the show. How do you do that?
It’s about service and having relationships and going deep.
Bring guests on your show! You don’t need to have big names to see success with this. Most people will click on an episode because of what they are going to get out of it, not who the conversation is with. Podcasting is my favorite way to grow a business!
