If you’re an online entrepreneur and you want a way to grow and scale your business, reach people more authentically, show up in less time than on social media while having fun, and generate trust with your ideal clients, then podcasting for business might just be your jam. Having trust equals money. We’re going to go over the pros + cons of how to know if you should start a podcast.
The Pros and Cons to Know if You Should Start a Podcast
I believe that if you want to have an online business for the next five years and want to go from part-time hustle to all in full-time, and want to do it in a way that saves time, podcasting for business is a very non-stressful if you prefer speaking rather than writing.
1.How to know if you should start a podcast
If you prefer to speak over doing live video and you want to connect with people in a way that just feels authentic and lets you just be yourself, then you should start a podcast. Time is money and podcasting for business is fast and efficient. It’s quick. It’s easy, and it’s cheap.
Podcasting for business is for quiet, outgoing, funny, and very business-focused people. You can have short episodes or hour-and-a-half-long episodes. There is a listener for everyone. Your niche is your niche. People are going to be drawn to you. There’s no right or wrong way to podcast, which is my favorite thing about it.
There are no rules. You can just show up and be whoever you are because your person is just like you and they’re going to get it. They are going to resonate with you. The more you allow yourself to truly shine from a place of your soul call, the more impact you’ll make.
2.How long should you try podcasting for business?
You have to do it for at least six months. The promotion and marketing part of it is the only thing you would have to do. If at six months you don’t have one download, (which is impossible), and you hated it and just decided to quit, what’s the worst that can happen? You have a six-month podcast that just hangs out. It’s evergreen marketing.
If somebody finds it two years from now, when they listen to you talk about your services, they get into your inbox to buy your workbook, and you sell a workbook two years later from a podcast that you did a long time ago, it’s a win, win situation.
3. Editing and creating your podcast episodes
If you don’t want to professionally edit, don’t. You can record from your phone. If you don’t want to pay to get professional graphics, I teach you how to create your own and edit in Podcast Pro University.
Maybe you don’t have any ideas on what to focus on for content. I have an entire module dedicated to helping you figure this out! Podcast Pro University takes you through how to come up with 30 podcast titles. You will have 30 episodes done in 30 minutes. If you did one a week, you’ve got half a year’s worth of content right there.
4. The pros + cons of investing in podcasting for business
If you do not invest in yourself and your business, learning the tools, and doing things that are going to set you apart from all of the millions of other online marketers, you just aren’t going to be able to stand out, which means you’re not going to have massive success in something.
You have to have a niche, you have to be super clear with your messaging, and you also have to show up at a super high capacity of service every week. It has to be on a platform that’s free. for example podcasting, videos, or blog. You shouldn’t use social media as a growth vessel because you don’t own it. Podcasting is something you own.
5.Prioritizing podcasting for business
Podcasting is a game changer. You are not going to regret this decision six months from now. If you truly stick with it, if you make it a priority in your life, and you show up every single week, it can be the way you inspire and impact the people that were meant to come to you, to buy from you, and to work with you.

The more I get to know my students and the more I participate in masterminds with my peers the more I’m starting to comprehend the overarching problem and prevalence of one, perfectionism, and two, overthinking.
Perfectionism keeps us in a place of constant consumption and learning. Redoing things over and over and thinking that we can’t move forward until they measure up to some elusive standard.
