If podcasting is on your heart and you’ve been dreaming about building a podcast, this blog is for you! I’m going to take you through all the questions you need to ask yourself to plan your podcast and I’m giving you my best business success strategies so you can launch quickly in 30 days or less!
My Top Business Success Strategies for Building A Podcast in 30 days!
Before you get started with any planning, take a minute to think about the vision you have for your podcast. When you’re building a podcast, you can’t start putting any of the pieces together if you don’t know who you want to serve and what you will talk about! Think about how you want your podcast to fit into your business vision too.
Getting clear on your avatar is the key to building a podcast successfully
Now that you’ve painted the vision and seen the big picture, it’s time to zoom in! You need to get really clear on your avatar. Here are some questions to help you do this:
Who is your ideal client?
What are their desires?
What are they struggling with?
What are their circumstances and environment?
Get super detailed with your answers. The more information you can learn about your audience, the better your podcast can be! This is one of the most critical business success strategies I can share with you.
Decide what your podcast is going to do for your target audience
Now that you’ve got a clear picture of who your ideal listener is, you can focus on the problem you are going to solve. The best thing you can do for your audience is something you have already overcome. So take a look into your own past and see which pain points your avatar struggles with that you already know how to solve!
Again, you need to get super specific here. Pick just one problem that you are going to solve. It’s essential to stick to a niche when you’re building a podcast. It’s how you’re going to see crazy growth and success!
When building a podcast, pick three content pillars to focus on
You’ve got the one problem that you’re going to solve, so now it’s time to plan out the content for your podcast! I recommend choosing no more than three content pillars for your podcast. These are three areas of focus that make up different parts of the main problem that you’re here to solve.
For example, if you are helping moms get healthy and lose weight, your content pillars might be
Nutrition
Quick workouts
Mindset
Sticking to these three pillars is one of the best business success strategies you can have. It keeps you focused, makes planning content easy, and keeps everything relevant to your avatar.
Create your tagline and title
The tagline and title need to tell people what to expect from your podcast. It’s the perfect place to share the content pillars you just created! Ideally, your tagline will have keywords that your ideal listener is looking for.
I recommend starting your tagline with the thing they want the most to catch their attention. You also don’t want your tagline to be longer than 10 words. Your title also needs to be clear and something your avatar would search for and relate to.
Take advantage of the space after your name when building your podcast title
This right here is my favorite hack out of all the business success strategies I’m sharing with you. Your name is searchable in the podcast platforms, so in addition to just writing your name, add keywords after it!
For example, if you are teaching women how to stay healthy and lose weight on your podcast, your name can be
Lola, is a certified nutritionist, fitness coach, health coach, and personal trainer.
You want to do everything you can to help your avatar find your podcast, so take advantage of the space after your name!
The final part of building your podcast is creating a detailed description
Your description is where you get to expand on what your podcast is about. You’re going to build empathy and relatability with your ideal listener by sharing your story! You need to create two descriptions when building your podcast:
A long, detailed description will be written into your podcast host. This will include the pain points, story, background, and links.
A short description, no more than 1 minute, to read out at the beginning of each podcast episode. You will most likely take out your background and links for this version.
The description will help your listener get to know you and why you are equipped to help solve their problem. It’s an essential part of my business success strategies and you can’t have a successful podcast without one.
The next step to building your podcast? Launch it!
All of these pieces are the foundation for your podcast. Once you’re clear on your avatar, the problem you solve, your content pillars, your tagline, title, and description, you’re ready to launch! These things will help your ideal listener find your podcast and connect with you.
I walk you through all of these steps and more in my course, Podcast Pro University. So if you’re feeling that nudging in your heart to create a podcast, let’s do this together! I’d be so honored to go on this journey with you!

The more I get to know my students and the more I participate in masterminds with my peers the more I’m starting to comprehend the overarching problem and prevalence of one, perfectionism, and two, overthinking.
Perfectionism keeps us in a place of constant consumption and learning. Redoing things over and over and thinking that we can’t move forward until they measure up to some elusive standard.
Why do I believe we need a morning routine? I believe you must have a morning routine because it helps you get into the mindset of productivity and purpose.
