Can discovery calls really get more clients for you? Is it something you should offer? How do they work? How do you offer them? Do they work to convert people into working with you as an online coach? I have some discovery call tips that will walk you through growing your clientele for your online coaching business.
Grow Your Online Coaching Business Using These Discovery Call Tips!
What is a discovery call?
You get on the phone with a lead, someone who is interested in your coaching or your mentorship, and you have a conversation around it. It is free and gives them a visualization of what working with you may be like.
If you charge between $50 to $300 an hour, then 15 minutes is more than enough time. If you are charging thousands of dollars for your hour-long coaching, you may need to give more time on a discovery call.
Why offer free conversations with people?
People are leery of spending money on something when they don’t know if it will provide the tactical solution that they need.
If they are going to choose to pay the money, you need to show them what coaching with you would be like.
Offer a free discovery call because you don’t have the demand yet or the luxury of turning people away.
If you don’t have people begging to work with you, and you are trying to get those first few clients, a discovery call is going to be a much faster conversion for you.
3 reasons discovery calls can lead to new clients for your online coaching business
Allows the person to grow in their trust.
They can experience some solutions you lay out for them in the free call so they can trust you.
It allows them to envision an outcome.
You go over the solutions you are going to coach them through that are going to get them where they need to go.
You get to ask for the sale.
How do you offer discovery calls?
You offer them right on your podcast, Facebook community, and email as a free offer. You can learn all about this through my Podcast to Profit Mastermind course, where I help you set them up.
Discovery call tips for a more successful conversion
The first five minutes are for breaking the ice. Take this time to learn about each other.
The next five minutes are asking them to tell you where they are struggling. Ask them open-ended questions to allow them to vent so they can feel that they have a safe place to speak. This is where you are listening to their pain points.
In the last five minutes, you are talking about the solutions you can provide for the problems they just laid out. They develop the hope they are seeking for getting over their struggles.
Then you ask for the sale. Lay out the details of the coaching offer and the price and ask them to work with you to get them where they want to be.
You discontinue offering discovery calls when you have maxed out on your client base for a couple of months. At that point, the demand is out there. If you are continuously growing your client base every month that is a good time to consider discontinuing the calls as well. The great thing is if you ever start to fall below where you want your client base to be, offer another discovery call!
When you implement these discovery call tips, you will see amazing growth in your online coaching business. I pray that you take these tips to heart and God uses the discovery calls to help your online coaching business to flourish!
I pray this blesses you!
