5 questions to easily generate 20 new podcast content ideas
1. What is my ideal client struggling with in this season that I can address in my podcast content?
For me, my people are struggling with summer. They’re moms trying to navigate kids being home from school, the chaotic schedule, and still trying to build their business and record their podcasts around all the craziness.
Grab a notebook and pen and brainstorm what this is for your ideal avatar. You’re going to get a ton of different content ideas by thinking about what they need to hear from you right now.
2. What are the barriers to my target audience’s desired outcome?
What are the biggest fears and hurdles that keep your ideal client from getting to where they need to be? For example, with podcasting, it could be:
Listing out all of the barriers your listeners are experiencing is such a quick way to get content ideas. You can turn every one of these barriers into a podcast episode. Even more, if you have multiple solutions for each barrier.
3. What are the top 5 positive outcomes that happen when my avatar gets their desired outcome?
Think about your offer and how you serve others. What are the top things that they’re going to get from working with you? Each of these outcomes can be turned into podcast content ideas so you can show your followers what’s possible for them.

Excuses are different from real barriers. Barriers are very real things that are getting in the way of your person achieving their desired outcome. Excuses are things they are saying to get out of taking action.
Your people aren’t taking action because it’s comfortable. So you want to help people break out of their comfort zone so they can achieve their desired outcome. Brainstorm their excuses or limiting beliefs and create podcast content addressing them – and give them ways to overcome those excuses!
