Have you been wondering how to plan your content strategy and create an authentic call to action (CTA), strategically? How do you naturally integrate a call to action in each episode? Do you know when your next webinar or promotion will be? Does it flow naturally in your podcast? What systems do you use?
I am going to give you 4 steps to help you create that call to action that feels authentic in your heart but is also timely and helps you to know what the heck you are marketing and when. This content strategy will show you how to set it up to flow in each episode so you sound confident and seamless.
Creating a Strategic Call to Action in Your Podcast Episodes
1. Plan every call to action on an annual promotion calendar
I love using Asana. Set up an annual promo calendar in Asana so you know what you are marketing and when, every month, for 12 months. It’s clean and efficient. Keep in mind, if you have under 500,000 downloads, you should only be marketing one call to action in addition to coaching breakthrough calls.
Please don’t have two or three or four courses, or a tiny offer and an academy. You will have such a hard time scaling if you start this way. You can create a half-million or million-dollar business on one product alone. Period.
2. Have a podcast episode tracker for your content strategy
A tracker I have created is in the Podcast Pro University course. You can download it and pop it into a Google sheet document. The tracker should have every episode you have done, along with the episodes that are coming up.
You won’t know every single episode that is coming up, but you are going to know what you are promoting because you have your promotion calendar. This way, you will be able to strategically choose the topics that help market each call to action that is coming up.
3. Have your content planned 1-2 months out at a time
Add your content strategy in your tracker and know what you are marketing all the way through one to two months at a time so you know what is happening and can correspond your podcast content to what is being marketed. Stay in line with whatever it is you are marketing for that month. Don’t market other programs or courses because that will get confusing.
4. Use your avatar clarity statement to invite them with a call to action
When it is not natural for you to casually market a call to action, refer to your avatar clarity statement, which was built in the Podcast to Profit course. The whole point is to connect with the audience using the main points you have learned to tell them why they need the call to action you are presenting and to tell them how your product solves their problem. Make sure that you remember to give them links with no pressure attached.
The main goal is to get your audience to start thinking about your call to action. We want to open their hearts to the possibility that you have the answer for them. We do that by casually connecting with them in a trustworthy fashion that makes them feel seen, heard, and validated. Then we tell them why we have the answer to their number one problem.
You can do this! I hope this has blessed you and you can use these 4 points to incorporate a call to action to help solve your listener’s number one problem!
I pray this blesses you!
Xo,
Stef
