1. Get Vulnerable
When you show up on your show, how vulnerable are you? Does your audience really know who you are? Have you shed any type of persona or level of professionalism that you think you have to have in order to be a podcaster?
This is not to say that it should be all about you. That is not the case. But it does mean that you need to be able to be you. You should sprinkle little pieces of who you are. It will allow your audience to trust you so much more deeply. This will cause them to want to work with you, thereby you can generate leads for your business just by being you.
Tweak your target audience’s specific verbiage in your messaging when it comes to generating leads and signing clients up. Using your audience’s words will relate to them and draw them in.
Position yourself at the same table as your ideal client.
Your avatar is at least 2 steps behind you if not 5 steps behind you. They are trying to get where you are.
Don’t just guess. Find the words your avatar is actually saying
3. Focus on getting your listeners one win per piece of content
Your avatar is having a hard time even showing up to listen to your podcast because of, well, life and distractions. Don’t overwhelm people because they will be so frozen in indecision simply from the episode that there is a very low chance they are going to say they are ready to work with you. They are still trying to work through your free stuff.
Simplify the free stuff so they get a win.
Ask yourself what is the one thing they can walk away with and implement from today’s episode.
Tell your listeners the one thing action item they take from that episode.
Keep it simple and digestible.
We are so limited on time and so limited on focus, we are just praying for one tiny win so that we can see the needle move. I believe your avatar is feeling the same exact way.
As you become more vulnerable and relate to your listeners, they will begin to trust you and look to you for help with their problems. You can use these three unique tips to begin to generate leads and help your listeners see that needle move and get that small win.
