Boost Your Facebook Group Engagement with This Easy Social Media Strategy
I don’t like social media and don’t get on Instagram at all. My intern will get on and post the latest podcast episodes, but that is all. I don’t post on Facebook, and I don’t scroll. I have broken that addiction and I am never going back. However, I do still have a Facebook group for my business and I still love it.
Why should you have a Facebook group?
The Facebook group is where you build your community. There is such power in a community when it comes to trying to get to know your listener more deeply, serving them, helping them to feel seen and heard, and connecting with them so they can work together without you.
Community is important, but it doesn’t have to be on social media. So if you are completely anti-social media, think about another place other than Facebook where you can do this.
60-minute-a-week social media strategy to boost engagement
The goal is for you to spend as little time on Facebook in a duplicatable way.
Choose one day that you sit down and prepare what you are going to post the next week and have it scheduled to post automatically. This should take no more than ten minutes to get 5 posts scheduled.
5 posts
2 are prompt posts to prompt people to do something like asking a question or starting a vulnerable conversation
1 value add post where you give something away that is valuable and short (less than 3 sentences)
2 engagement memes that are funny to get people going
They can go in any order throughout the week
2. Take 10 minutes per day to check in
5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening
If this is a trigger for you, you need to set an alarm to remind you to stop, delete the app, or decide this isn’t for you.
What are you focused on during the 10 minutes of check-in time?
Questions – If you ask a question the person is going to reply to you
Conversations – If you prompt conversation, there is an invaluable back and forth
Value and solutions – Can you offer a value or solution like linking a podcast episode?
This social media strategy is so simple and it will work to start generating conversation faster in your community. If you begin to generate conversation, the engagement in your Facebook group will grow.
Be the real version of yourself in your Facebook group
Remember, the people in your Facebook group are real people. They are just like you. Often they are already your superfan because most likely they found your Facebook group through your podcast.
