First of all, I have got to give credit where credit is due. A lot of my time management breakthroughs have come from one of my best friends, Chelsi Jo Moore. She’s just truly got a gift for helping busy work-at-home moms prioritize and create the workflows and the systems in their businesses, and they will change your life. Establishing Your Weekly Schedule as a Work-At-Home Mom
The first thing I had to figure out is how much time it took to run my business. Just do a brain dump and figure it out. A lean week, I can get away with 24 hours. On average, I work approximately 32 hours a week in my business.
I am a full-time entrepreneur. My husband has a regular corporate job, but he’s also home 80% of the time. Both of our boys are in full-time school, outside of the home.
6 Steps to Creating a Weekly Schedule for Your Business
1. Figure out how much time you need in your weekly schedule for your business using Mind Meister. This is a free tool, and it’s what I use.
Do a brain dump of every task that you need to accomplish.
Figure out how long those tasks will take you to complete.
Decide on the days and hours that you can dedicate to your work schedule.
2. Use a task management system to track your tasks and workflows
Track all business tasks that recur weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
3. Use Calendly to track all the meetings that you have with others
Coaching clients
Interviews
Appointments
4. Add your meetings and work blocks into your planner. I use and love my Horacio Planner! Use my code STEF20 and receive 20% off your purchase!
5. Choose a day to sit with your family and plan out what you want your schedule to look like.
6. Add your work and personal time-scheduled events into your planner and calendar. This could include any coaching clients, dentist appointments, soccer games, church, etc.

Here are some bonus tips for balancing your work-at-home mom schedule:
Get up before your family in the morning and spend an hour with the Lord.
Block off time in the evening and make dinner with the kids and clean up together and have some intentional time.
Work out as a family. Play basketball or have fun doing other activities together.
On Sundays be intentional about picking up groceries, meal prepping, cleaning, and getting all the laundry done so that your week can be super focused on work, family, and workouts.
This is the process of creating your weekly schedule as a work-at-home mom. I hope you can use these tips to find a balance between your business and personal life. I’d love to hear how you can fit your business around your family! Please share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
