Have you ever wanted to be more confident? Would you like to feel empowered in running your business? Do you want to become the leader you need to be to explode your business? In today’s post, I interview Marta Spirk of the Empowered Woman Podcast. She shares with us the top 3 fears holding every woman back, and her 5 steps to becoming an empowered woman.
How to Know Your Authentic Self and Become an Empowered Woman
Marta Spirk is an empowerment coach and marketing strategist for women. She helps female entrepreneurs increase their confidence to be seen, know their businesses are a valuable contribution to the world, and make their dreams a reality through their businesses. Her role is helping these women see that they are unique, special and have a place in this world. She also is a mom to triplets, a published author, and speaker.
The top 3 fears holding you back
1. The fear of making mistakes
So many women are held back because they don’t want to make mistakes or look bad. You may be worried about being in the public eye, whether that’s your team, your podcast audience, or even your family and friends, and messing up and looking bad. To avoid the pain of this fear coming true, you might choose to not even try.
2. The fear of rejection
Going after a challenge or dream takes some risk. That risk can often involve other people. If you are launching a podcast, you need people to listen, if you start a business, you need customers, if you write a book, you need readers, and so on. When starting something new, there is always the risk that others will reject your ideas. But, if God is calling you, then only His opinion matters and He will bring you the results from your obedience.
3. The fear of failure
Often, women see an idea not working as the definition of failure. Perhaps, your business is slow to grow, or no one buys your new book, or you fail to raise the necessary capital. However, God asks us to be obedient and walk out His plan for us. He does not expect you to hit specific results, that is His job. God uses our challenges, whether successful by our standards or not, for our good and His glory. So, by trying, it isn’t possible to fail! Only quitting and not trying at all are the true failures.

5 steps to getting to know your authentic self and becoming an empowered woman
True empowerment comes from knowing who you are. Many times, you push yourself aside for the sake of others. This can eventually prevent you from even knowing yourself deeply. Implement these five tips to really get to know your authentic self so you can be the empowered woman God designed you to be.
1. Notice yourself
What this comes down to is where do you fall in? What is your thing, what are you known for, what are you into? Often, this can show up on a personality test like the Enneagram. I have found there are three common types of people. Most of us fall into one of these three categories, the doers, the thinkers, and the feelers. Knowing your tendencies allows you to realize you have a lot in common with others. It also allows you to not take things so personally if another type of person speaks a certain way. It is just how they are, it’s nothing that has to do with you.
2. Listen to yourself
Once you have noticed yourself and had some realizations about how you operate, you can pay attention to seeing those traits come up in your relationships. How you speak or act with your spouse, with your kids, with your team, etc. may have patterns for you. You can start trusting yourself more and more as you truly notice and listen to yourself. This is also where listening to Holy Spirit comes to play. We often think of it as our gut or intuition, but it may be Holy Spirit guiding you.
3. Forgive yourself
I feel that this is the most important step for women to take because it often goes back to you protecting yourself from yourself. You hold yourself back because of the fears, and you need to forgive yourself and take action to move forward.

4. Empower yourself
You must go through the first three steps before you can empower yourself. How can you empower yourself when you don’t know who you are? What is there to empower when you don’t know what you’re really good at? Look back at everything you have already accomplished. Remind yourself of the greatness that is in you because God is in you and He created you. You have a lot going for you.
5. Transform yourself
By going through the first four steps before transforming yourself, you start owning your authentic self and are more self-loving and self-accepting. Once you are in this space, you are finally ready to take on whatever your dream or goal is because you are operating as a truer version of yourself.
I pray this interview with Marta Spirk has blessed you and encouraged you to show up despite your fears and get to know your authentic self. You are just five steps away from becoming the empowered woman God is calling you to be so you can show up fully in your life and business.
