4 Fundamentals to Get Your First 10,000 Podcast Downloads Fast!

So you launched your podcast, now what? There are so many questions about which direction to go when you are focusing on getting your first 10,000 podcast downloads. And this is truly the hardest part because this is when you are navigating through limiting beliefs and just starting to get to know how to best serve your avatar.

Today, I am going to give you the four C’s of what you should be focusing on while you work to grow to 10,000 podcast downloads.

Reach 10,000 Podcast Downloads With These 4 Fundamentals

Before we dive in, here are some interesting podcasting statistics:

• 50% of homes are podcast fans. That is over 60 million homes
• 75% of the US population is familiar with the term podcasting
• 55% of the US population has listened to a podcast
• 24% listen to podcasts weekly
• 16 million people are avid podcast fans
• These numbers are continuing to go up!

4 C’s to focus on to serve your avatar while you grow your podcast downloads

As you grow to your first 10,000 podcast downloads, you need to stay focused on the foundation and fundamentals. For your podcast and business to function effectively, these need to be set up properly.

What is a foundation?

• A stone or concrete structure that supports a building from underneath
• An idea, principle, or fact that provides support for something else

In regards to business, it is the stone on which you are building yours. It’s important that you do not skip building a foundation for your podcast, future business, and future profits to stand on because if there is nothing to stand on it will all come crashing down.

What are fundamentals?

• Forming or relating to the most important part of something 
• Relating to the basic structure or function of something

The fundamentals are the meat and potatoes of your business. You won’t know what these are when you launch. You will learn them as you go. It takes getting feedback, testing, and consistency. Having the fundamentals allows you to get more clarity over what the business stands for and the avatar you are called to serve.

1. Consistent content to serve your avatar effectively

You want to come prepared to serve your avatar in the best way you can. And it needs to come from your heart, a Holy Spirit place. There is so much more inside of you than when you head to a Google search bar to see what you should talk about. It’s time to get out your mind map or notebook and journal what you have done to get where you are now!

People are tired of following fickle people. People want to follow foundational people. So showing up consistently puts you ahead of the competition. This doesn’t mean you can’t pivot and grow or even have a rebrand. It simply means you are consistently committed to where you started in the direction God has called you to go.

2. Community outside of podcast downloads

Community provides a place for listeners to come to connect with you. In fact, in Podcast To Profit, this is one of the very first foundational aspects you learn!! I teach you how to set up a community that will highly convert in the future. And for those who don’t want to use social media to build community, there are SO many alternative options, which you learn in Podcast To Profit. 

Building your community is done by pulling people from the podcast – where they come to learn from you – to a community where they get to engage with you. The number one thing you need to do is tell your listeners about your show and what content you will be presenting that week. Start the conversations in your community around your content. 3. Connection while you serve your avatar

Your relationship with your avatar should feel personal. It is important that you make your listeners feel valued. And that you establish a relationship with your avatar that makes them feel like they know you.

My favorite place to connect is using an email list. I highly recommend that an email list is where you connect because it is something that is:

• Yours. You own it
• Scalable
• Algorithm-free
• Sustainable

4. Copy and Messaging

This is a beautiful and pivotal time for you to learn exactly what your audience needs from you so you can tailor your copy and message to them. Start with what you think they need. But remember, what you think might not always be what God KNOWS.

As you learn more about your listeners inside of your community, you’ll have a better understanding of exactly where they’re struggling and how you can help them.

3 goals to focus on as you serve your avatar

If you can focus on these three things, you will be set up for the next phase by the time you hit 10,000 podcast downloads.

1. Find out what your avatar’s number one problem is

Many different people are going to come into your community and will have a variety of reasons of why they can’t get to the solution that you teach. But this variance with your listeners allows you to get your messaging on point to figure out:

• Why they are struggling
• How you can serve your avatar better with your solutions

2. Grow service-based trust

Every email you receive when your podcast is still new, answer the questions for free. This helps to build that service-based trust as you serve your avatar. At the beginning of my podcast, I did many calls with people totally free. I just served and got people the result they were looking for. This helped in many ways:

• Boost confidence 
• Learn what the methods were going to be in the future
• Provide ammunition to know that what is being taught is landing
• Give people trust

3. Capturing the lead

It’s important to take people from being a hidden listener to a superfan that you can have a conversation with and pour into them!

What steps do you take to accomplish this? 

• Start your community! Again, I will walk you through every step of how to do this in Podcast To Profit.
• Through an email list. You can get all the resources I love including the email and landing pages here. 
• Practice speaking from your heart. Talk about why you want them to be connected with you at a higher capacity.

Focus on the four C’s and three goals to establish a solid foundation and build out those sustainable forever fundamentals to scale, grow your podcast downloads, monetize, and market in the future as you serve your avatar.
