A new year is a time to have a fresh start and focus on new beginnings. Do you need encouragement for this fresh start? I have four Bible verses about new beginnings for you for encouragement when it comes to starting new.
Seek a Fresh Start and New Beginnings With These Bible Verses
Have a Fresh Start Every Morning
Lamentations 3:22-24
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed. For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. I say to myself the Lord is my portion, therefore I will wait for Him.”
This verse gives us a promise that every single morning, God’s compassion is made new and refreshed for us. He gives us the opportunity for a fresh start every day if we wait on Him.
God is doing a new thing in you
Isaiah 43:18-19
“Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up. Do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
He is helping us move forward and wade into living water even when we find ourselves in those deserts, in those wastelands. There is a way forward for us. We can move past our shame and guilt from the past and into a new way God created for us. He is giving us new beginnings through his grace.
We have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us
Ezekiel 11:19
“I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them. I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.”
We sometimes forget that we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us and that we can continuously ask God to help purify our hearts. We are given a fresh start when we open ourselves to be guided by the Spirit. Is there anything left in your heart that is creating hardness? Any idols? Anything from the past? Anything you need to surrender to God? He promises to provide a way for you to be 100% His with a new heart and spirit.
God Has New Beginnings for Us
Revelation 21:1-3
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away and there was no longer any sea. I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God prepared as a bride beautifully dressed and I heard a loud voice from the throne saying ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people and He will dwell with them. They will be His people and God himself will be with them and be their God.’”
Do you ever think about heaven and really let that sink in that we are going to get to experience a kingdom that is heaven on earth with God?
The promise is already available and it is coming! As we move forward, not just into a new year but into a new fresh season, I pray you will have fresh eyes to see, a new spirit to lean into, and new ears to hear all the incredible things that God is moving you into. This new year is a fresh start, full of new beginnings for you!
