Get Your Podcast Episode Done FAST With My #1 Time-Saving Tip!
Here it is, my number one time-saving tip for podcasting. Are you ready?!
Edit as you go!
That’s it. It’s that simple.
When I sit down to record, I have my outline and am ready to go. But, sometimes, things happen; I lose my train of thought, my dog barks, or my kids interrupt. So, I simply press the stop button instead of just continuing on the episode and exporting it later or editing it after the fact and having to remember where the mess-up happened. Then I delete the thing and start recording again, right from where I left off.
That’s all I do! I don’t edit my podcast unless it’s a full coaching session where we need to get it down to 20-30 minutes. All of the solo episodes I record for you in real-time and just cut out the mess-ups right here as I record. This saves 30 minutes to an hour of unnecessarily listening back to your episode and editing.
I love to use Audacity to do this, and Garageband will also allow you to do it (if you use Mac). Unfortunately, if you are recording in Zoom, it doesn’t let you do it. So I highly recommend using Audacity; it’s free and allows you to edit as you go.
This time-saving tip will also save you money!
Editing as you go is not only a huge time saver but also a massive money saver! When I started out, I was outsourcing all my editing, costing me $30-40 per episode, which added up so quickly! Compared to pausing and deleting, which is free. If you do want to have someone else edit, but you want to pay less, then I highly recommend using Fiverr. I used them when I was first starting, and it was great. Use my link to save 20% off your first order!
Editing yourself as you go is honestly my number one podcasting time-saving tip, and I hope you’re all doing it; if you aren’t, you should!

Editing doesn’t have to be hard, scary, or expensive. Simply apply this time-saving tip and edit as you go to save yourself precious time and money. A free program like Audacity or Rockband will help make this process easy and fast. And, with the time and money you’ve saved, you can put it towards what matters; the things that move the needle in your business, or spend it with your loved ones.
