defeat the enemy, strongholds and spiritual warfare
Hey Friend!
You’ve been wondering if you’d be good at podcasting and if it’s the right business model for you. You’ve been considering it but you think… maybe you don’t have time… or you worry no one will listen… maybe you’ll run out of content. Those are all valid fears, the same ones I used to have. And to be honest, podcasting isn’t for everyone!
I’ve put together 5 clues to help you decide if podcasting is the right business model for you. Find out if you should start a podcast and feel confident that it’s the right platform to grow an online business – in less time!
Podcasting for Business? 5 ways to know if podcasting is a good fit for you
1. A podcast is a great business model if you want to show up consistently, spend less time, and let leads come to you
The top two concerns I hear from my coaching clients are around time and consistency. There never seems to be enough time to do all the business tasks that come up, especially for my work-from-home moms, #amiright? Therefore, being consistent with the current business platform you are using is a challenge. You’re trying to post content in all the places, and it takes way too much time. Not to mention the rabbit hole that is social media when you are sucked into scrolling, liking, and commenting.
With podcasting as my chosen business model, I am able to show up consistently for my niche market in less time and without having to use social media if I don’t want to. And, this is with me hosting three podcast episodes per week! What’s more, I have leads coming to me, going to my website, and buying my courses every single day, straight from my show. 2. Podcasting is for you if you prefer audio over video, reels, and endless post
When you choose a video, lives, or reels as your business model, there’s this pressure to get all done up, hair and makeup, get your background looking professional and stylish, and keep the kids and the dog from running in the background (is that just me?) Plus, really connecting with your audience can be awkward when you have to stare at your little camera circle the whole time. If showing up in PJs, a mom bun with wingdings and lukewarm coffee sounds like Heaven, that might be a clue that podcasting is right for your business.
3. Podcasting is absolutely the right business model for you if your ideal client is someone who is BUSY
Think about your target audience for a minute. Who do you serve with your online business? Does your niche market consist of moms, mompreneurs, work-from-home moms or dads, business owners or entrepreneurs, business or ministry leaders, working professionals, college students, etc.? Most likely, your ideal avatar is someone who leads a busy life. Unless your target audience is couch potatoes, your potential clients are Busy with a capital B.
Busy clients don’t have time to sit still watching YouTube videos, Facebook Lives or Instagram Reels. Those require more focus and attention, which let’s be real, your client is absolutely going to multitask while your video plays making them miss out on much of your message. We’ve got to market in a way that our avatar prefers to consume information. With podcasting, your client can take in your content while they are driving, working out, or picking up after the kids. That’s why it’s such an amazing business model to reach more leads!

4. You’d be a great podcast host if you have a heart to serve and something you can help others with
Social media can be a hard place to really show your heart and connect with your ideal clients. It’s more of a rush to put up quick content that can get multiple “likes” quickly before it disappears into the feed sunset. There is so much marketing strategy that has to go into video and social media to get your content to convert, that it’s hard to just get vulnerable and really get your avatar to feel more connected with you.
If God is calling you to share your heart and help others learn from the life experiences you have been through, podcasting is the BEST business platform for this. Podcasting allows you to share from your heart and help others improve their lives. When they feel seen and heard by you, they are also more likely to share your message with someone they care about, which grows your podcast audience organically and to the right people.
5. Being coachable and willing to learn is really all you need to be good at podcasting
To grow a successful podcast, you need a proven step-by-step plan from someone who has already succeeded at podcasting. Many people try to duck-tape their businesses and podcasts together by searching for the different steps on Google and piecing it all together. Podcasting isn’t difficult, but it’s a completely different business model than you probably have seen before. So, you need to be willing to learn and be coachable as you grow in your knowledge of podcast hosting, marketing, planning episodes, and more.
With podcasting, you’ll need to show up with more faith in God’s plan for you. Because, rather than instant “likes” and validation that comes with video views or social media posts, podcasting is a longer and slower plan. However, it’s a plan that can bring you more success, because you’ll be attracting the right listeners that will convert to true leads and clients for you for many years to come. You will reap many more rewards over time.
God is calling you to share your heart, your voice, and your experience with the world, podcasting is the right business model for you! If you care less about getting instant “likes” and more about walking in obedience for the long haul in the plan God has for you, then you’ll have all you need to be great at podcasting and find peace in your life and business.
