Do you wonder where to drive your followers to increase your podcast ranking? Should it be towards more downloads? Leaving a review? Rating you? Subscribing to you? What is the main factor you should focus on if you are trying to rank when focusing on growing your podcast?
Grow Your Podcast and Increase Your Podcast Ranking With These 4 Strategies
I am going to reveal four secrets to get your podcast to rank. Ranking means getting your show to be featured near the top of your category in listenership. This is important for you because it helps you get visibility and notoriety and, of course, it is marketing! Getting your podcast ranking up is so much easier than you think!
Don’t let your current podcast ranking discourage you
You will rank, it is only a matter of time. Don’t put too much of your heart into thinking you are not successful because you aren’t ranking yet. It is typically a timing game. Just keep going. It is inevitable that your podcast will keep growing.
Ranks are very volatile. If you do rank, especially when your podcast is new, you could get top 100 then all of a sudden it falls and goes away for a while. That is very common. Podcast rankings are driven by action and activity.
As you are growing your podcast, there is a lot going on.

Whatever your highest ranking is, that is what you want to use in your marketing. Know that it is going to peak and drop. Track your podcast ranking only once a month. Don’t get crazy. It will fluctuate, so just do a spot check every month or so.
Where do you go to see what your current podcast ranking is?
Listennotes.com – This one is my favorite! Type in the name of your podcast. Don’t get too attached to the rank. It is just data. This website gives you statistics based off of your overall listenership globally versus by category.
Chartable.com – This gives more of a category ranking. If you click on the different places in your podcast, you can see a chart that will show you your peak position. That peak position will be what you use for marketing no matter what your ranking is the next time you check, go with the peak position.

4 Secrets to Increase Your Podcast Ranking
1. Use keywords to grow your podcast through search engine optimization (SEO)
Remember at the end of the day, activity will get you ranked. This means you need more listeners.
To get ideas for keywords, search on Pinterest and Google search bars for popular keywords and phrases that apply to your topic. Ubersuggest is another good option.
Do market research to find out what specific words and phrases your niche market is using consistently.
2. Ask for reviews and subscriptions to get your podcast ranking faster
Focus on getting between 20 and 50 reviews in a 48-hour period and have them subscribe at the same time
3. Get your podcast ranking fast by having punchy titles
If you are going to have a longer title, make sure the front end is punchy.
A listen and a click is more activity! If you can catch them with the first five words then they are more likely to click and begin to listen.
