Hey, friends. Welcome to today’s episode of the show. I’m super excited you’re here. We’re talking about something that you guys are asking for. Hey, Stef, how do we get more clients in my ‘blank’ business?

Whether you’re a coach or a freelancer or an online marketer of some kind, you’re looking for more clients, and the way that you wanna do it is organically, which I’m super here for.
So today we’re gonna go through five simple ways to get more loyal clients and actually keep them.

Let’s talk about the five simple ways to get more clients in your business. Whether you are an online coach of some type, a freelancer, a network marketer, some type of online business owner, you sell a brick-and-mortar type product. It really doesn’t matter.
(06:14):
These five ways can work for anyone. So number one, the number one thing is to offer free trials or offer free projects. I know you are like, what the heck are you saying, Stef? You lost your mind, girl. I know.
(06:30):
And my guys too. Hey, what’s up? I’m so happy you, guys, are here. By the way, guys are totally welcome on this show and I’m so excited to have met some of you and to have some of you join the courses now and the programs.
(06:43):
Hi! So pumped that you, guys, are here. So offering free trials and projects, here’s something super cool. I’ve been hit up a few times like, Hey Stef, I did this thing for you, totally free. I didn’t ask anybody to do it for, me I didn’t promote that I needed it.
(06:59):
This person took initiative and handed me something finished. And this finished thing was so good. And I was like, whoa, who are you?
This is amazing. I can’t believe you built this for me. Say what? And I totally was interested in checking out this person’s work.
(07:16):
So I want you to think about who are people that you wish you could work for? I know that you’ve got your dream list of three to five people.
(07:22):
You’re like if I could just work with that person, if that person would hire me on as whatever, their podcast manager or their graphic artist or their social media strategist or if I could work with that person and do some coaching with them.
(07:35):
Whoever your ideal client is, I want you to think about what you could do for free for that person without being asked. Now, here’s the worst-case scenario. They don’t work with you. They don’t hire you. You blessed them big.
(07:49):
Here’s the best-case scenario. They’re blown away by your free stuff. And now you have your foot in the door for an interview, most likely ahead of all the front runners, cuz they’ve already seen your work, they’ve seen your initiative and they’ve recognized that you went out of your way to do something kind for them.
(08:07):
So offer free trials slash projects. Now, if you wanna offer a free trial, like, Hey, I’d love to work with you.
I’d love to give you five hours of my time or whatever that looks like for you. I’d love to give you two hours of my time. And it also depends on how hungry you are for clients.
(08:25):
And I would really not do this for everyone. I would handpick the people that you truly know you’re called to help.
And I would start there. Start at the bottom now here, if you know what I’m saying, reach for the top, reach Hi, and then see what happens. So that’s number one.
(08:44):
Number two is to head into Facebook groups and participate. Yes, I’m sorry. This is just one of the best places to score clients and it’s getting in those chats.
(08:57):
Now what I would really focus on if this was me, is I would start popping in value add, I would put stuff like did you know that you can stop using social media altogether and use that same hour a week, but grow 10 times faster.
(09:17):
Any guesses what it is? Well duh, the answer’s podcasting. But let’s say that the people in the Facebook group didn’t know that. So they’d be commenting below.
And then maybe what I would do is at the very bottom of the thread, I might pop in one of my podcast episodes around podcasting.
(09:31):
You’d have to be mindful of the groups’ rules so that you’re not being spammy, but you could also comment back to people and be funny and be engaging.
And they’re gonna be curious about you and they’re gonna come to check out your stuff, your Facebook page, your podcast, et cetera.
(09:48):
So, participate in groups. You can do polls in Facebook groups, pop in funny memes, do a specific tactical win for someone.
(09:55):
Let’s say that you’re a social media manager, pop in three tips about what is converting the best right now in a Facebook group, simply by seeing your free stuff, without any type of pitch whatsoever, people are gonna be like, huh? Who’s that? Who’s that honey, with all the tips?
(10:14):
They’re gonna be interested in you, which is gonna bring people to the yard. Now, what is in your yard absolutely matters, which we’re gonna talk about in a minute, but start to participate in Facebook groups and don’t let this be all-consuming.
(10:28):
I would maybe do 15 minutes a day, set a timer, pop into your favorite three groups, and engage really pour value you out. And again, worst-case scenario, you get nothing, but you’ve blessed people. Blessings come full circle like times 1 million. So don’t worry about it.
(10:48):
Best case scenario. I think I said worst-case scenario, best-case scenario. You get a client. Somebody’s interested in you and Hey, maybe they’re still not sure. Hey, guess what? I’m gonna give you a free 30 minutes.
(10:58):
I’m gonna go pop into your group and do an audit or I’m gonna give you a free 30-minute coaching call, whatever you do. We all start from this space of service. And sometimes we have to really prove ourselves in order to grow our demand.
(11:15):
Number three is to ask your current clients for referrals. This is so underutilized guys, if you’ve ever had a client in your whole life, did you ask that person for a referral? But did you actually, and then did you actually follow up with them?
(11:33):
So, I would say something like this, Mary, oh my goodness. I just thought of you the other day. I loved working with you so much. Quick question.
Do you actually know of anyone else that might be interested in blank, macro planning like we did together or decluttering your home virtually like we did together?
(11:52):
Do you know of anybody? I have one slot open and I was thinking of you because you are one of my favorites and I think you may know more people that could become my favorites.
Make it funny, make it your own and ask because you never know. You literally never know.
(12:09):
And the other thing you could do is say, Hey, Mary, I wanted to let you know that if you refer two or three clients, whatever that number is, right, I’ll throw you a free session or I’ll throw you a free hour or I’ll throw you a free podcast editing session, whatever you do.
(12:22):
What does that referral program look like? And go ahead and just make one up. Do whatever the heck you wanna do. You could throw people a bonus, a commission, a free call. Think outside the box here.
(12:36):
You are so equipped to drive business. You just cannot be afraid of the ask. I did an entire podcast episode on the ASK. The ask. And so, you gotta ask them for the referrals.
(12:57):
Number four is to follow up with old leads and prior clients. So, here’s, here’s the same Mary. So, Hey Mary, I know that we did a declutter session together last year.
I was just circling back with my prior clients and I wanted to let you know that any prior client gets 20% off for the month of blank, whatever April, may, whatever you want.
(13:20):
Circle back with people. And I want you guys to remember that urgency sell. So what can you offer someone who you know you liked working with in the past and you want to work with them again, if you just need to grab some clients.
(13:36):
Now there’s a difference if your client book is totally full, which it’s probably not, if you’re listening to this episode. But if it’s not, what urgency can you offer? Do you have a discount code? A bonus? A free gift that comes with it?
(13:53):
Whatever that thing is that will help them say yes faster would be a go in my opinion. I have never been burned by a flash sale or a giveaway or a bonus because it always leads to results, which then leads to more referrals at the end of the day.
(14:12):
And it also gets my name out and gets the word out about what it is that I offer and how I’ve helped that person. So you’re gonna follow up with old leads and prior clients. Now, don’t just follow up once, put them on a nurture email sequence.
(14:26):

So don’t worry about all those little techy pieces we got you covered. But in essence, you just wanna continue to be front of mind because someone’s going to be ready again.
And they’re gonna think of you, guys. I sell unstuck sessions to prior clients all the time because they go on with their life.
(15:07):
They implement what I’ve taught them. And then they come to a crossroads again. And because they’re on my email list because they listen to my podcast because
I’ve continued to love on my prior clients in good faith, they think of me and they’re like, oh man, I’m at a crossroads. I’m gonna hit Stef up.
(15:25):
I have people from literally three years ago when I started coaching still will book an unstuck session here or there maybe once a quarter, maybe even just once every six months as like a touch base, help me get some direction, Stef. Those come through all the time.
(15:41):
So don’t close the door on a prior client. Let them know, oh, hey, I’m still here for you. How’s it going? How did that meal planning end up for you? Did it work out?
(15:54):
I have a meal planning back on track session that I wanted to throw your way, just in case you want to lose some fat before the summer, or create a workout schedule for the summer when your kids are off.
Literally, anything you do, there is a way to create urgency around it and circle back. So do not forget about your old clients.
(16:20):
Fifth and final tip on how to get more clients that are loyal and keep them. The fifth one, and obviously, my absolute favorite. You knew this was coming. And if you didn’t know this was coming, you must be new here.
(16:37):
Start a podcast and not just start one. You don’t get to just start a podcast and quit. You’re gonna start a podcast and you’re gonna marry it. Yes, you’re gonna marry it.
You’re gonna put a ring on that podcast finger. And you’re gonna sit behind that mic for 12 months and you’re gonna stop looking up.
(16:57):
You’re gonna stop spending all these ridiculous numbers of hours on social, scrolling, in DMs, trying to force relationships to convert, doing endless hours of discovery calls. You can throw all of that out the window and simply show up behind a microphone.
(17:16):
I don’t care what you do. This works. If you are a freelancer, what do you freelance about? What is your business model? Let’s say that you are a social media manager.
(17:27):
Start a podcast all around Facebook engagement. Blow that thing up once a week with epic, incredible value aimed at your ideal avatar and tell them that you do done-for-you services. You do social media management in case they don’t wanna do this for themselves.
(17:43):
You are gonna have so many clients you are not gonna know what to do with it. And then you’re gonna join Podcast to Profit and I’m gonna teach you how to make it a course, for real.

Let’s do another example. Let’s say you’re a life coach and you need more clients. You’re gonna start a podcast around whatever type of life coaching that you do. Let’s say that you do something around self-care, self-love. You can start this self-care for a busy mom show.

And she’s gonna come listen and she’s gonna hear that you’re a life coach, and she’s gonna wanna work with you. She’s gonna hire you just because of your podcast. A podcast is how you connect. It’s how you build rapport with people. It’s how you solve their problems for free.
(18:28):
When new solve their problems for free, they come knocking on the door, money in hand saying, please help me the way that you helped me on your podcast, but do it for me customized.
(18:39):
It blew up my business when I started showing up behind a mic and here’s the beauty I could sit here and do hour after hour of discovery calls to book clients, or I could just do one podcast.
My podcast is my discovery call. I don’t do discovery calls. I have not done discovery calls for two and a half years.
(19:08):
I actually have a waitlist right now. And we aren’t able to coach as many people as come in the door because of the show because they hear the episodes.
They know I can help them and they wanna do coaching. So this is what I want to build for you now, whether you’re a coach or not.
(19:24):
Let’s say you sell customized devotionals, amazing. You could start the Divo a day podcast and you could have a one to five-minute devotional every day, whatever, Monday through Friday, and then sell your devotionals on the podcast. Literally, this works no matter what you do, who you are, male, female, old, young, I don’t care.
(19:47):

And if I don’t have a six-figure business, I’m gonna run. This is not for you. This is for those of you who are so done with social media.

You’re so done with the hustle movement, being addicted to your phone.
You’re so done, trying to build yet another business at the expense of your children, the expense of your marriage, the expense of the mess of your home, and yet falling flat, not making the profit that you thought you would.
(20:50):
If you are so done, throwing thousands and thousands of dollars at coaches who promise you thriving six-figure businesses in five minutes. PS, that’s a joke.
Run as fast as you can. If someone tells you that it’s gonna be easy, it’s never easy, ever.
(21:06):
Having true impact and income means you partner with the Lord. You do it his way, surrender your business, show up with audacity and you do good works for the glory of God. Period. End of story.
Now in that beautiful journey, you feel fulfillment. You feel change and transformation.
(21:25):
You do experience favor and provision because you’re blessing other people and blessings come back around to you. It’s just inevitable.
Now I’m not telling you that you’re gonna have a thriving six and seven-figure business. I don’t know what God wants to do, but I do know that God has a call on your life.
(21:43):
I do know that you have these vocational gifts and spiritual giftings on purpose for a purpose. And I do know that I have been led here to show you guys how to do this in a way that doesn’t steal from your life.
It’s a way that gives back to your life, hours back to your life so you can trust me or you cannot.
(22:05):
And I’m cool either way, but I just want you to know that there is truly a way where you can build a scalable online business without the detriment of everything else.
Without the world’s way, without the comparison, without the likes and the clicks and the clickity clocks and the tickety talks and all the things that could be gone overnight.
(22:25):
But yet you can build a sustainable business from your comfortable clothes, your PJ’s honey, with your lukewarm coffee and hand, and your children potentially in the background. But you can mute. You can pause. You can delete. It’s life.
(22:41):
And you can create true change for God’s kingdom, with whatever your gifting is and that is through podcasting.
I believe it, with all my heart, I’ve helped many, many hundreds of women do it and men actually, and we are helping more and more and more every single day.
(22:58):
And I want you to know that this can be for you too. It absolutely can. So let’s do a quick recap. The five ways that you can scale more clientele and actually get them to stick with you.
(23:11):
Number one, offer free trials, free taste of your work or free projects for people and you know what don’t even offer it. Just do it. I have been blown away when people have done that for me.
And quite often, I do hire them to finish out what they’ve started because it was so amazing.
(23:30):
Number two, get in the Facebook groups, get in there. Facebook group participation, polls, comments, connection. Number three, ask your current and prior clients for referrals. Think about some type of referral program.
(23:46):
Number four, follow up with old leads and prior clients offer them urgency. Offer them a way to work with you again, as a follow-up, as a next step as they get back on track type scenario.
And last but not least, the one that I think is absolutely non-negotiable, 100% a yes in my heart, in my life, and in what I believe can make a true transformation in all of your businesses is to start a podcast.
