If your niche is something that doesn’t need a visual component, then podcasting could be the best platform for you. Follow these tips to position yourself for success!
- Make sure it is a medium your ideal client is on
- Make sure it is something you are passionate about
- Make sure it makes sense for your business and will drive traffic
If you overcome the fear, you will learn and grow. Your first few episodes may not be the best, but you have to show up to learn and grow and it can only get better from there. If you have the burn and passion in you, it has to override the fear. Get yourself out of the way, it’s not about you, it’s about the woman you are serving.
The basics for a top-ranked podcast
1. Have a niche to your show
- Target your avatar
- Take the deep levels about what you are passionate about and get micro-niche
- Own a specific niche so you can become the best at that and go all in
- You don’t have to talk about the same thing every day, you need to have a common core denominator of why the listener is there
2. Tech
- If you are afraid of tech, outsource
- Don’t let tech hold you back
- Content should be the number one thing you worry about
- All you need is a mic, hosting site, and editor

3. Use notes or go with the flow?
- Some read from notes
- Some work from outlines and rif
- You know your stuff! Give yourself some credit
- If you are reading from notes you want it to sound conversational and real

4. Tips for new podcasts
- Think of it as if you are launching a new product
- Ask for reviews from people you know
- Do giveaways on social media
- Give it time
- Incentivize your current listeners to share with others
5. How important is the podcast name?
- Think about who it’s for
- Use the words they are searching for and embed who it’s for
- If your cover and title are confusing it won’t get the traffic
- It needs to be clear
- Catchy and cute won’t get you traffic
6. What is the best intro?
- Think about what defines your avatar
- Make them laugh
- Make them feel
- Let them know what they will get from the show
- Have fun and be creative
- There are no rules
7. Monetization
- Plug your own products if you have any
- Plug products you use regularly and set up an affiliate link with that product
- Having your own products will be the highest profit margin
- It takes time
Podcasting is a long game. A top-ranked podcast is totally possible for you if you commit to seeing the results. Don’t be obsessed with the numbers and making money right away. Focus on serving your audience. People want real people, telling real stories. Be authentic and serve and you’ll have a thriving platform in business. It’s inevitable!
