FULL EPISODE TRANSCRIPTION:
(00:00):
Hi friend, welcome to today’s episode. I am just so really, truly honored that I get to bring on five incredible, amazing women who have graduated from Podcast to Profit.
(00:15):
These amazing women, I am telling you, they’re gonna share some incredible stuff with you guys today. I mean, 10 K downloads in four months.
We have success stories around ranking on the charts, around having growth, momentum, around hearing from God, specifically, in the direction of their shows, the community, the accountability, they share so many wins, getting clients to come through the door.
(00:42):
And I just want you to hear their heart today. Whether or not you decide to do Podcast to Profit.
I think that this is important for you to hear as someone who wants to lead a faith-led business about what it really takes to decide on your one thing, whether it’s podcasting or not.
(01:00):
I want you to know that when God leads, it’s our job to be obedient. It’s our job to show up to the one thing. And it’s our responsibility to really lean into faith and to lean into trying something that He is prompting us to try.
(01:16):
So this is just gonna encourage you, whether you’re gonna do P2P or not, just listen in to these women’s stories because there is so much wisdom in here.
And I know that there are probably some nuggets that you can take with you as you go grow your own God-led business.
(01:32):
So be sure to heat up some coffee right now, you know, it’s lukewarm. You’ve been sitting there, your coffee’s lukewarm, or maybe refill that water bottle, get a notebook and pen and let’s glean some wisdom up in here.
(01:48):
You guys heard about these amazing ladies in the intro. I’m so excited to be looking at their five beautiful faces and for you guys to hear their incredible wins coming out of Podcast to Profit. Let’s start with my beautiful friend, Monica Baker. Welcome, Monica.
(02:59):
Thank you. I’m excited to be here.
(03:01):
Me too. Tell everybody, what is your podcast called and what do you do?
(03:06):
Claiming Simplicity, simplify your life and create more meaning.
(03:11):
So good. Simplify your life. Don’t we all want that? Why did you create that brand?
(03:18):
I was crazy busy working full time with three littles, and I just got tired of doing the day-to-day busy going to work and I decided something had to give.
(03:31):
And so my husband and I got outta debt and I was able to do Simplified my life so that I could do gardening, stay at home with the kids. I now homeschool. And I just love teaching other people how to simplify.
(03:47):
I know, and I can hear everyone on the other side being like, I wanna do that. I wanna get outta debt and garden and homestead and hang out with my kids every day.
(03:56):
Simplify, creating space. I’m here for it. How did you find me first of all? And then why did you join Podcast to Profit?
(04:06):
I found you on another course that I was on. You were a guest and you had talked about being a Christian and what really got me excited was that you didn’t use social media and they are always showing up.
(04:22):
And that was so exhausting for me. So, I started my podcast, which I had never even thought I would do. And then the next month I started P2P and it’s been a great decision for me.
(04:38):
I love hearing that. You didn’t sit around and wait, you said I’m starting this podcast that I didn’t even know I was gonna do. Cuz I think that I believe and trust this chick telling me I should do the thing. And then you said yes to Podcast to Profit, that is a lot of faith.
(04:53):
Monica, was there ever a moment where you were like, Ugh, is this investment gonna be worth it? What were those fears or limiting thoughts you had?
(05:01):
I thought do I know enough to even start this class because I was so new at podcasting. But the way you bring everybody through everything I definitely was and it’s been amazing.
(05:16):
Tell me about some of the wins. Did you have tactical wins? Was it worth it for you?
(05:22):
Yes. So, in the last three weeks, I have consistently been ranking and I never ranked before. I’m 45 in Canada, 78 in the US, 13 in India, 69 in the United Kingdom, and 180 in Australia. So that was really exciting.
(05:42):
That’s huge. That is so exciting. I love that. And what’s so crazy is, if you really think about the big scope of things, most people will never rank at all in their shows.
And for you to come out of the gate with a one-month-old show, join P2P and you’re ranking in the top 100 in many countries in just four total months of podcasting.
(06:07):
I mean, really think about that. It’s insane. So good. Last question, Monica. How did God move in your life through this program?
Was there any really pivotal faith transformation or what do you have to say about that?
(06:25):
Well, I would say that every time I would think I was doing everything right, then He would be like, wait a second. Let’s pivot.
And then the third time, a couple of months into it, I’m like, no, I’m just gonna keep doing what I’m doing. And He is like, nope, back up.
(06:44):
And so just the pivoting, because I thought it would be easier not to pivot if I didn’t pivot, but just listening to Him and going with it. I feel it’s stronger than ever now.
(06:56):
I’m so excited to hear that. And I know that there is so much growth in obedience. And so really leaning into Him saying, Monica, we’re just gonna tweak and we’re gonna fine-tune.
(07:06):
And we’re gonna go this way. I remember sitting with you in one of the coaching calls and you saying, I think God’s leading me in this other direction. We were deep into P2P at that point. And I was like, great. Let’s do the thing right.
(07:19):
When we hear God’s leading, we have to do the thing and now look at what your podcast is doing. So, just so excited for you.
Keep growing, keep showing up. Thanks for having faith in me. And, I’m excited. I’m cheering for you over here.
(07:34):
Thank you. And thanks for all you do.
(07:36):
You’re welcome, Monica! Miss Sara. You’re up to the mic, sis. Welcome to the show!
(07:44):
Hey!
(07:44):
Hey, girl! Tell everybody what your podcast is called and your tagline.
(07:51):
So, my podcast is called the Beautiful Shift. And I help moms with littles, build confidence and create balance.
(08:00):
I love that so much. Build confidence and create balance. Do you know how many mamas need those two things?
(08:09):
All of them. So, Sara, why did you join Podcast to Profit? And how did you find me in the program?
(08:18):
Honestly, I don’t remember. I think I saw something on Instagram or I heard something somewhere about, I never listened to podcasts before you, I don’t have that kind of focus.
And I found you and I just started binge-listening, like a maniac and it changed my life. And I was like, I love this woman.
(08:37):
We need to be best friends. So, I think it was somewhere on social media possibly. Or I heard your name somewhere looked you up and it’s history from there.
(08:47):
It is history from there. I just love you to pieces. And I love something that’s so fun about you.
Nobody knows it’s about you, but when we connected, you were so brave and you said, what did you say to me? You were like, Stef, I have these awesome pants.
(09:03):
That would be so great on you. And you totally pitched me your pants that you are marketing, but you didn’t like just, and you guys know me.
I’m like not here for that. And the way that Sara came across though, was like so authentic.
(09:19):
So kind, you really meant what you were saying and I literally have the pants from you that I love. And so you win the award for selling Stefanie Gass, cuz I think that’s pretty impossible to do.
And you did it in an email. So anyway, kudos to Sara. Why did you join P2P? What prompted you to say yes to it?
(09:44):
So, I wanted to start… the end of last year was really tough and I found you, I think mid last year and I kept hearing you talk about Podcast to Profit. And I was like, I don’t know. I haven’t even started my podcast yet.
(09:56):
This is not, I thought I was gonna do a blog. And then I realized how much I like to talk. And I was like, well that’s stupid.
So I decided, oh, podcasting this woman’s talking all about this. It sounds great. Well, I hadn’t started, I literally started my podcast, I think January 7th.
(10:13):
So I’m very new. And I knew before I officially said, I’m gonna do Podcast to Profit that I needed that extra, I knew I couldn’t do P2P without starting the podcast, but I knew I needed to start the podcast.
(10:27):
So it was like if I did P2P, I had to start the podcast and it would push me over. Cuz you wanna wait until it’s perfect and it’s never going to be perfect and you’re gonna start messy.
(10:37):
So I knew joining P2P would give me that good, fresh start to doing the podcast right. But also to give me that accountability of having to get it started.
(10:46):
I love hearing this theme, both from you and Monica, you just started your show and then you left right into the program.
I think that takes so much bravery because people often tell me I’m not right to start. Cause I just started my show. That’s the point.
(11:03):
Come into the thing that makes you grow the thing, even if it’s new. Was it hard for you having just started or do you feel like it was fine? Was that a good time to join P2P being that you had just started?
(11:16):
Oh, definitely. I think that no matter where you’re at in your podcast, I’ve connected with a lot of the ladies just from the Podcast to Profit on a one-to-one basis.
And we’re all in different spaces of when we started, how many downloads, all the things and coming from somebody who just started a podcast and was literally three episodes in when I started Podcast to Profit.
(11:38):
No joke, because I had to have three. And it’s been so good because I feel I have a step forward in going the right direction and having clarity early on.
So there’s upsides to it when you’re first just getting started to just leap in, do the thing, get it done right.
(11:57):
And have that guidance along the way. Cuz you’re gonna face those scary fears and the imposter syndrome and all those emotions. But Podcast to Profit really helps you through that.
(12:08):
That’s so good. So Sara, what happened to your show? What were your tactical outcomes now that the program wraps up next week? Where are you at?
(12:18):
So in the last 12-ish weeks, I’ve had over 1200 downloads. I’ve been downloaded in over 21 different countries.
And that’s with like very little, the one thing I didn’t do from PPU I didn’t really do a social media blast of any sort.
So that’s completely just me getting on the mic, doing the thing, scared as I’ll get out, but doing it anyway. And I have had, this is totally a God thing.
(12:45):
I’ve had more than five people, at least that I can think off the top of my head. Most of them were random people that found me on social media and they reached out just to thank me, for my content and to tell me that I am crushing it.
(12:57):
That was a total confirmation that what I’m doing is right. Then the last big one, which I love, I found out recently, I’m in the top 5% globally. And that was amazing.
(13:10):
Girl, I love this. You, guys, are so cute by the way. I could just climb into this zoom and hug her cuz she’s got this really cute thing going on. So she did a little nose scrunch. Sara, we are so proud of you. Top 5% coming straight up out that gate, your show isn’t even 90 days old, barely.
(13:38):
I mean, that’s amazing, over 21 countries, I think you said, I’m in shock. I’m so excited. And this is just the beginning. This is the importance of having massive accountability, seeing you through all the steps so that you can continue to grow with over time.
(13:56):
Cuz you’ll know all the ways you’ll know everything that you’re gonna actually do.
(14:00):
Absolutely.
(14:01):
That’s crazy good. I’m so excited. I forgot to ask Monica where everyone can find Monica. So she’ll unmute and let us know in a minute. But Sara, last question for you. What was your funniest or most memorable moment and then tell everyone where they can find your show?
(14:16):
Probably my most memorable moments cuz I had a few, is I’m like a super emotional person, but during a training I’ve never had a training of any sort where I’m almost in tears because there were moments that you said things, it was off, not off-topic.
(14:34)
It was off of the direct coaching that you were giving. And it touched my heart so many ways cuz I was okay, thank you, God. I needed to hear that. Thank you.
(14:45):
And it was just such great reminders that you’ve done throughout P2P that have just given me that reminder of listen, you’re doing this for God, I’m not doing it for me and it’s not about me.
(14:57):
And just that constant reminder of this is God’s show and I’m doing it for the kingdom and I’m doing it for impact because people need to hear me, is such a different way of going about just the podcast and life I think, in general. But it was so moving that I was literally on camera.
(15:15):
Oh my God, I’m gonna cry. And I totally did.
(15:21):
Thank you for sharing that. I think we all cried. I don’t think there’s anyone in P2P who did not cry at some point happy tears or those holy spirit moments that we had. So good. Thank you for sharing. I’m so excited for you and here’s to even more growth.
(15:38):
Awesome. Thank you.
(15:39):
You’re welcome! Monica, I forgot you. I love you, though. Where can everybody find your show and Sara, did you say where they can find your show? You, guys, were organized over here. Love us.
(15:51):
No, I did not. So you can find me, obviously my show, the Beautiful Shift on Apple Podcasts. I would love to connect on Instagram just because I do like stuff. I do these obnoxious reel videos. That’s my fun. I limit myself, guys, but I have a blast with the videos.
(16:10):
So you can find me @balancedlifewithlove, all spelled out on Instagram and then obviously through there, if you wanna connect on Facebook, you can find me there too.
(16:20):
Awesome. Monica, where is your pod at girlfriend?
(16:24):
Claiming Simplicity on Apple Podcast? Well, actually all podcasts, but also I am on Instagram with Claiming Simplicity. I’m not on there that often. And my Facebook group is Living Simple for Busy Moms.
(16:38):
Awesome. Thank you, guys. Next up to the mic is Stef. What’s up girl?
(16:45):
Hey, there!
(16:46):
Only other Stef that spells her name exactly like me.
(16:52):
You know I’m older though. So you copied me.
(16:55):
I copied you. That’s exactly right. So tell us a little bit about your podcast, Stef. What’s it called? And what do you do?
(17:05):
The podcast is called Grief 2 Great Day. And it’s Christian grief support for women so they can breathe, laugh and live again.
(17:19):
It’s so important, the work that you’re doing, Stef. And I remember one of our very first sessions as we were going through your podcast and we were fixing the messaging and the keywords and all the pieces. Everyone was whoa. The way that you show up for this grief work it’s so God-sent.
(17:40):
This is so needed in the world and the way that you spoke about it, you brought life to this thing that people walk through that is so hard and you did it in this eloquent way where we all were saying wow, the way you spoke about it made me realize there’s beauty through that process.
(18:00):
And there’s a breakthrough on the other side of that process. Anyways, I just think that you were literally created to do the work you’re doing.
(18:07):
I think so too. Sara, is gonna be one of those emotional moments. This has been 12 years in the making. And the way I found you, it was a God thing because my husband said last I’ve been looking for the thing to do.
(18:26):
I had thought about blogging cuz I like writing. I thought about video. That is not my thing.
And I did not even think about podcasting, but last October, my husband’s like don’t you think if you’re gonna do this, it’s time to go all in. And I was like, yeah, cause you get excited and I’m still like, I still know what to do.
(18:46):
So I left my job on October 21st. It’s a Thursday. Wow. On October 22nd, I was invited to a three-day conference that you were speaking on the 25th, which was Monday.
(19:00):
And when he came on Monday, I was like, I’m gonna be a podcaster. And he is like, what? I said I found it, I found the thing and I knew it was the thing.
So I joined CYC, Clarify Your Calling and then PPU, and then I had a coaching call with you.
(19:21):
And I’m like, I dunno if I’m ready and you’re like, you’re ready. Just have three. And I’m like, okay. So again, it made me do the three and that has been awesome.
So I launched the very last week of December just to be able to be in the program.
(19:38):
Stef. This is crazy. I love this so much.
(19:42):
Me too.
(19:42):
How do you feel like this has been 12 years in the making compared to the last four to five months of actually doing this thing? What does that look like?
(19:53):
It’s incredible. It’s a reminder that we can work and push and do all the hard things or we can just let God do it for you. So His timing is so different than ours.
(20:07):
And that was another thing that I absolutely loved about it. I had told my husband, I’m bringing him into all this. I don’t know why.
(20:15):
I love him already. He’s like how many husbands all the girls listening or being, I wish my husband would say aren’t you gonna go all in? What’s wrong? Go all in.
(20:24):
It’s not his personality either. So that’s another thing that told me it was a God movement. But I forgot what I was saying.
(20:33):
You were saying how it felt to go all-in after 12 years of trying and then, this five months of, I’m sure it felt like a big sprint season going from CYC to PPU to P2P, but the outcome of that and God’s timing.
(20:49):
Yes. It has been, I think I lost the point, but I’ll bring it back at some point. Maybe, maybe not. It’s a senior thing. I dunno.
But, in general, the whole point of it is it’s incredible because I knew. When you know something, you know that you know. I knew it and then there was absolutely no question about doing it.
(21:17):
So, coming back to the finding you, I had told him before, I was like, I love the online space because people are leaving corporate jobs like Monica, you’re trying to have a simple but valuable, meaningful life.
And I love that part of most of the online creators, but I also found that there weren’t a lot of Christian entrepreneurs and that was another thing. I was like, man, I have found my friend with my name.
(21:47):
My twin, my sister from another mister. That’s so that’s really powerful. Your testimony is super powerful, so thanks for sharing that. It blesses me really big.
Tell me what the outcomes were of all of this work that you’ve been doing. What is happening for you? What are your tactical wins?
(22:06):
Well, in the last three months I have almost 2100 downloads. Plus, it’s in over 20 countries, and I’ve ranked as high as 16 in Christianity podcast in Spain and Greece and 30 something in Turkey.
And I stopped going to Podbean because I kept looking every day.
(22:27):
How many? It was so exciting to see. People are listening, and they are, and more so, they’re responding and I’m getting emails about the difference it’s made. So, it’s awesome.
(22:40):
So good. And all of that is gonna lead to people feeling safe with someone like how you guys felt about finding me and this I’m like, oh, I’ve been looking for that exact thing.
(22:52):
That’s how they’re gonna feel about you Stef, by listening to your show, hearing that, connecting with you, building that trust, and then saying you’re the person I’ve been looking for to help, walk me through this grief I’ve been going through.
(23:06):
So good. And you already had interest in your coaching offers, right?
(23:10):
And that’s another thing I was not gonna do. I was not gonna do the coaching, but it’s important for me to be able to connect more because my Lola from way back is not exactly the worrying that people today have.
(23:30):
And I need that. I need their experience. I need to know what they really need. So I’m thankful for that as well.
(23:38):
So good. I love this. Thank you for sharing, Stef. Last question, and then tell everyone where they can come to find your show.
(23:45):
From you, what I’d love to know since you’ve shared so much emotion with us and touched our hearts right now, and made Sara cry again, what was the funniest or most memorable moment for you?
(24:00):
I think honestly, the faces, seeing the face all the time, and Sara’s kind of part of the funniest. Cause I agree with you. She’s so cute. And I’ve seen some of her reels and it’s enjoyable.
(24:16):
So I mean, that’s just the little exhale that you get to, but being a part of a group of Christian women is incredible.
(24:25):
I know. It’s so powerful. The community that you, guys, created, it’s gonna live on, you’re gonna stay connected and now you have this beautiful sisterhood of people that know exactly what you’re going through.
(24:36):
And you can stay in touch with each other and help each other to navigate as you move forward. So good.
(24:46):
So thankful that you’ve listened to your calling to enable all of us to do this kingdom work. I know you’re gonna ask where the podcast is. It’s Grief 2 Great Day, on most podcast platforms. And thank you.
(25:03):
You’re welcome, Stef. Thank you so much. You, guys, have just heard from three of the five women that I have in store for you tomorrow.
I’m gonna be sharing the other two amazing testimonies coming outta P2P, which are gonna absolutely truly blow your mind.
(25:20):
And I hope bless your heart, but today if it’s on your heart to join us in Podcast to Profit and you want to be one of these success stories in three short months, I want you to come to apply.
(25:34):
As I’m recording this, we still have a few spots left for the summer 2022 graduating class of P2P. It’s gonna kick off on April 14th.
(25:45):
If you hurry and get your application in, you do have a shot at making it into this round of the program. And, this it’s something that you’re either willing to say, yes, it’s my time.
(26:00):
Yes, I’m ready, Yes. I’m willing to do something hard that feels confusing or I don’t see a true outcome, but I’m willing to show up in faith and try.
(26:12):
I’m willing to do some hard things that are gonna stretch me that are going to challenge me so that I can really experience that momentum.
And the breakthrough in my podcast, making this the thing, the business, the way that you grow leads, and then going through my process to actually teach you how to monetize it, how to optimize it.
I teach you creating a coaching offer or a course offer a course framework, a program framework, launch, scaling, and sales psychology.
(26:43):
All the tech tutorials are included. All of my Asana workflows are included. So I show you how to run this business. The exact way that I run mine. I want you, guys, to walk in my footsteps and this is the program that does it.
(26:55):
Plus the accountability is absolutely insane. I’ve mentioned that you get the power coaching, you get my team with you. You have office hours with my team.
You have your own little pod breakout where you guys can really bounce ideas off of each other all week long in between trainings. It’s just so truly so good. I stand beside this program being the only one of its kind.
(27:19):
And it’s going to pay off the investment you make in yourself and this program is going to pay off for the rest of your life. I absolutely believe it.
So if that’s you, podcasttoprofitmastermind.com, get your application in like yesterday, we only have a few spots left and this does kick off in two short weeks. Can’t wait. I’ll see you inside. God bless.
