FULL EPISODE TRANSCRIPTION:
(00:00):
Hey, friends! Welcome to The Stefanie Gass Show. My name is Chelsi Jo, and I’m filling in for Stef today. She’s been hunkered down in the hospital with her youngest boy, and as we all know, being a mama is of our utmost priority.
(00:13):
So I’m stepping in today to give you an episode that I know I personally needed to hear way back when I first found Stef and I started on the journey to learning the Stefanie Gass business model. This all happened before I even had a business, before I had an email list, before I had an Instagram account. All I had was an idea.
(00:33):
The Stefanie Gass business model literally changed my life. And with zero exaggeration, it was the thing that changed it all for me. And I know if you’re listening to this show, you’re probably binging every single episode, clinging to every single word that she says in every single episode, because that’s exactly what I did.
(00:53):
Today’s episode is simply for you to be able to feel like, oh my gosh, I totally can do this. She’s been in there too. I want you to know that The Stefanie Gass business model absolutely can work for you. There’s a major secret that you have to know, and I’m giving it to you in three big chunks so that you can digest it.
(01:15):
You can put it in your back pocket and you can use it every single time you come to a roadblock and you feel like, mm, can I really do this? The answer is yes, you can. Let’s dive in today’s episode where you can learn the exact secrets to using the Stefanie Gass business model to go from zero following to a six-figure business.
(02:36):
Hey, Hey friends. I feel as though it is important to do a very brief introduction of who I am so that you know who your hanging out with today., For those of you that don’t already know me, because a lot of you probably do. I’m one of Stefanie’s closest in real life friends, as well as online friends.
(02:56):
We’ve been together on the podcast many times she’s been on my show, I’ve been on her show. I am the host of The Systemize Your Life Podcast. I’m also the owner of chelsjo.co. That is my company that Stefanie actually helped me build.
(03:12):
She helped me build my podcast. I wasn’t even gonna have a podcast until I knew Stefanie. So probably just like you, she wrangled and roped me in. She sold me on this big idea that a podcast was gonna change my life and lo and behold, it totally did.
(03:25):
I’m also the creator of The Systemize Your Life Academy, which Stefanie Gass also helped me create. Everything that I have, the literal money that pays my bills, that gives us the freedom, the ability to be a work-from-home mom, everything that I have is because of what Stefanie poured into my life.
(03:47):
There is another big secret that goes along with that. It’s what I chose to do when I came in contact with the Stefanie Gass business model. And I’m gonna give you that secret today, and I’m gonna give it to you in three sections.
(04:01):
But before I do that, I want to let you know that the last three-ish episodes here on The Stefanie Gass Show, podcast episode number 383, 384 and 386 are must listens. They’re absolute gold. I wish that I would’ve had that information digested and given to me just like that whenever I was first starting.
(04:26):
So if you haven’t listened to those yet, please make sure you go back and listen to them because they really are so good. And I have vetted them as if I needed to, but truly everything she’s telling you is everything that I went through.
It holds to be true, not only in my business, in my experience, but I know for so many others that have already gone through every single one of those phases.
(04:51):
So please make sure that you go back and listen to episode 383, 384 and 386, and really put them in your back pocket, learn from them, take notes on them and make sure that you really stay true to everything that she has to say.
(05:06):
So here we go. You guys, you need to have a notebook, there’s gonna be a lot of notes that you can take on this. And on your piece of paper, I want you to put three segments. So you have like the top, the middle and the bottom. We’re gonna go through this in three phases.
(05:22):
And inside of there, I’ve got three little nuggets inside of each of these steps that I want you to really digest, to sit on, to think about, to pray over and even open up about inside of Stef’s Facebook group and really understand what is it going to to get the Stefanie Gass business model, actually up and rolling in my life.
(05:43):
You wanna have the podcast that’s growing, the course that is bringing in passive income for you. You’d want to be able to have the freedom, be able to stay home and be with your babies. You wanna be able to impact people that you wanna help. And that’s totally where I was.
(06:04):
I started out completely 100% like, oh, I’m gonna start a blog. And that was my thing, I love to write. There was nothing ever in a million years that was like, you should start a podcast. Absolutely not. It was like, you’re gonna start a blog. And so I started a blog. I didn’t even know a thing about Stefanie at this point. I even know, like she was a human.
(06:25):
And so I think I was maybe listening to podcasts, somehow some way I got turned onto that, somebody was like, oh yeah, you should listen to podcast. What is that? Do I even have those? Yeah, you have an iPhone, you probably have them.
(06:38):
So then I looked up the podcast app and I was like, oh my gosh, there’s like this whole world of free information. And I had my own personal Instagram account that I shared every bloody minute of my babies on, like the typical mom.
(06:53):
And I just was really active in this dream that I had. I thought maybe it could be true, but I didn’t really even know what my idea was. Just knew that I wanted to have a creative outlet and pour into other people. My desire is to serve. And at that time I was a full-time sign language interpreter. I had just become a new mom.
(07:17):
I had just been married and I also had an older daughter. I was a single mom for a while and I also had a wedding business, an event-based business at the same time, I just was really busy. And I really felt strongly about creating income from home.
(07:32):
I really wanted that to be something that I could see from just being on social, that other people had that, that there were other people making a living from blogging, from online business and they could work from home.
And somehow I remember vividly, I was folding laundry in my closet when somebody shared a screenshot of The Stefanie Gass podcast in their stories, I clicked on it. And the rest is history.
(08:00):
Very soon after that, I did all the things to win a free coaching episode. This was a couple of years ago, you guys, she doesn’t have this anymore, but I was just like, we have no money. Are you kidding me? What can I do? How can I get into this process to even see, am I just joking myself?
(08:21):
Am I just totally kidding myself to think that this could be real for me? And so I spent 30 minutes with her and she was like, oh yeah, your systems, you systemize your life. What is happening right now? My mind was blown. And then I just did all the things. So that’s basically my story.
(08:40):
She did not have Clarify Your Calling at the time. I had to pay for coaching over and again to get that amazing brain of hers in my life, which now you can get CYC and you should absolutely start there. You should absolutely do that. And then I did Podcast Pro University.
(09:00):
And then after that I did some more coaching and then she started her mastermind and I did that as well, which is now P2P. And I’ve done it all. I literally did every single thing, I worked with Stefanie from word go every single month for about a year and a half.
(09:19):
And I went from that idea to now having a six figure business in two years time. I really can’t even begin to explain to you how impossible I thought that was for myself. Here’s the secret. Here’s why this worked for me. The first step that I want you to write down on your piece of paper is the word invest.
(09:43):
If you’re sitting there and you’re wondering how this Stefanie Gass business model is gonna work for you. Do I start a podcast? I don’t even know what my thing is. Just wanna know how to get started. I do not understand this is what you’re gonna do. You’re going to invest. You’re going to figure it out.
(09:59):
I literally went to my husband and I was like, I believe in this. I don’t know why. I’ve prayed on it. I’ve sat on it. I remember him asking me, did you pray about it? Yes, I prayed about it. And he is like, all right and we had little pockets of money in random places. We scraped, we found it. We figured it out and I invested.
(10:19):
Now, when I say invest, I mean, these three things, remember I told you, there’s gonna be three things in every one of these three things. So invest your time, your money and your heart. Let’s talk about these very briefly. So yes, you’re gonna have to invest some money. You’re gonna have to buy the program.
(10:39):
Yes. You’re gonna have to do that. There’s no like, oh, I just want this to work, I’m gonna listen to the podcast and it’s gonna become a thing. Nope. That is not what I did. And that is not the secret to success. You have to invest your time and you have to invest your money and you have to invest your heart.
(10:57):
What does that mean? Obviously purchase the program. Your time, you have to show up and you have to do the program. Buying it is not enough. Listening to the modules while you’re driving down the car, that is not enough. Watching it. Cool. Still not enough. You have to do the homework. You have to post inside the Facebook group, you have to ask questions.
(11:19):
You have to invest. Your heart has to be invested in this process. You have to just 100% give it over and say, I’m doing this even though I’m terrified of failing at it. Even though I have no idea if this is gonna work for me, even though I have no clue what I’m doing.
(11:37):
No one in my family has ever run a business. I have no idea how to even file for my LLC. I have no idea how to do any of this. What the heck is a podcast? You have to invest. I don’t know what I’m gonna say. I don’t know what people are gonna think of me. You have to invest your time, your money and your heart.
(11:56):
And you have to give it over completely to the process. That is the first part of my secret. It’s what I did. I just invested all of me in this process. My commitment was to show up to that podcast every single week without fail.
I did not know where I was gonna find the time or how I was gonna do it, but I super duper said, I’m doing it. And I invested in it and I was really serious about it. Which leads me to the second thing.
(12:28):
The second part of the secret is that you have to show up. So in that second portion of your notes, I want you to write in all caps show up, and then I want you to circle it. A lot of times. So here, let’s talk about what this means. There’s three portions of this. The first one is do the work. The second one is head down and the third one is be genuine.
(12:53):
You’re gonna show up in all of these ways. Showing up means you’re gonna do the work like I had talked about. It’s not just investing with your money and with your time, but also with your heart. And that means you have to do the work. Period. There’s no getting around it.
(13:11):
If you think that you can skirt any part of this process, this you’re wrong, the faster you wanna get there, the more focused you have to be. There’s no getting around. Oh, well, I already did that step because I’ve been a business owner before. I was a business owner before, I had seven years of business experience underneath me.
(13:31):
I don’t care. And this is the nature of my personality, I’m a one on the Enneagram. I have to do things “perfectly”. I really need to know that I’m doing all of it and I’m not cutting any corners, but truly looking back that’s why it worked.
(13:46):
Because I didn’t just think, ah, well, maybe that was just something that Stefanie needed, but I don’t actually need that. Absolutely not. Every module was watched, everything has to be done. You have to commit to truly doing all of the work, even though you are afraid to do it, or you’re uncertain of how to do it.
(14:12):
Google became my best friend. YouTube was my late night deep partner, we were there together a lot trying to figure out. I can’t even tell you how many things I researched. And I vetted. And I tried to figure out, and I didn’t know how to do anything, you guys, literally I had no idea how to do anything, but I just did the work.
(14:38):
Here’s the second part of this, head down. What does that mean? It means stay focused. You cannot get distracted. Stefanie’s really big on this. And it’s for good reason. I put my blinders on and I did not do anything outside of the Stefanie Gass business model. And you shouldn’t be either.
(14:57):
You can’t just mix a bunch of sauces together and think you’re gonna come up with something new that everyone is gonna buy off of the shelf. It doesn’t work like that. Marinara is Marinara and Alfredo is Alfredo. And then somebody came up with this other sauce where they put the two together and I love it.
(15:17):
But you’ll notice there’s only one can of it on the shelf because there just are these things that are true in life. And if you’re trying to run a passive income business based on an online course with a podcast, don’t be out there mixing all the clicky clicks and the funnel funnels and the foofy things. Just do exactly what she tells you to do.
(15:43):
And you’re gonna end up having an incredible marinara or an incredible Alfredo sauce. It’s gonna be one of the two, but they’re both amazing. That’s point of this. There’s real one way to make sure that this happens and it’s called staying off social media.
(16:01):
Don’t click on the person’s fancy program that sells you on this idea that you can get this thing overnight. And then they start selling you the really great sales emails, and they make all promises. Don’t do it. Don’t look at the other person that has the business that you wish you had. You’re where you’re at right now.
(16:20):
You’re doing the work you’ve invested. You are showing up and you’re gonna keep your blinders on. You’re gonna keep your head down and you’re not gonna look up until you’re on the other side of it.
I remember one time I showed up inside of what is now P2P and I was just lamenting about how I had looked at someone else’s program that was probably a good five years ahead of me.
(16:44):
And she was like, I told you to keep your head down. And she like totally made an example of me in front of everyone. She was like, you see Chelsi shows up strong every week. And then she went and did this digging. And she started comparing and she’s a mess and it really did derail me for two weeks. It totally got the best of me.
(17:03):
And you can’t do that to yourself. You have to stay focused. You have to look at where are you. Are you trying to earn your first $100 in your business or to make your first $1,000 month? Are you trying to make your first 10K month? Where are you in this process? That’s what you have to stay focused on.
(17:25):
And that leads me to the third part of this second part of my secret. And it’s to be genuine, you have to be genuine. You cannot copy someone else’s idea. You cannot speed up the learning curve. And I know you want to, I know you want to convince yourself that you already know how to do the thing.
(17:46):
I already know my woman, my Lola. I don’t need to spend time getting to know her. My keywords are great. I don’t need to really sit and do the research, my I help statement’s great. I’m helping a lot of people, you’re not allowed to just be whatever you think it should be. And it works, you have to be so genuine.
(18:14):
You have to be willing to admit that you have a lot of learning to do and that it’s going to take time. Be so unbelievably committed to the whole process. You can’t show up five minutes before your call with Stefanie or with your accountability group or five minutes before you launch a program for the first time and just duct tape something together and think that that’s gonna fly. It’s really not.
(18:48):
You have to say, I’ve got a week to put my ideas down on paper. And next week I’m supposed to show up for this thing. Or I said I was gonna launch my podcast on this date and then just put it off and just slapstick something together and think that that’s actually serving people.
(19:07):
The real secret to so much of how you show up is how genuine you are. You just simply cannot cheat this process. You have to be willing to go through every single step to the T and let it sit in who you are, who you are as a business owner. And then show up with all of that as a part of your process.
(19:30):
Even when it comes down to just producing podcast episodes, week after week, don’t cheat that process either. Don’t just pull something out of thin air over and over again, because it has to be done and think it’s gonna fly. It’s really not. You have to be genuine in how you’re serving and where your heart is in this whole process.
(19:50):
Every single time you sit down to do your work. Now, look, I get it. I’m a work from home mom. My kids are always needing me. My house is always needing me. Something is always needing me. That’s why I created systems. That’s why I have The Systemize My Life Podcast to help with all of that.
(20:08):
But the point is, yes, sometimes things are gonna be on the fly and that’s okay, but where is your heart? Are you genuine in how you show up? Are you just trying to get anywhere that you can possibly get as fast as you can get there? Because that my friend is not the secret to your success.
(20:30):
Let’s look at the third and final major part of my secret to succeeding with the Stefanie Gass method and it is to trust the process. Did she just say trust the process? Yeah, I did. And the three parts to this are to trust God, to trust Stefanie and to trust yourself.
(20:57):
I will never forget the moment when I was like, really? You want me to do this thing, Lord? For real? I can’t, I won’t, I shouldn’t, I don’t. And the list of negatives just went on and on. And one day I just thought, why not me? I mean, as much as I had Stefanie in my ear telling me that I was chosen and I was perfect for exactly what I had been called.
(21:30):
I mean, just listen to the podcast as far back as you can go, the message is clear. I was like, why not me? And I’ll never know unless I try. So I was like, all right, we gonna do this thing. I did, and I just fully believed that God would protect me throughout the entire process. And I trusted that He was going to provide.
(21:53):
And throughout that process, throughout these two years, and even still, currently, I think it’s a journey that we will always have to continue to commit ourselves to trust ebbs and flows. There are times when I would have like a 20K month and then the next month it was 5k.
(22:12):
This is not working. And so then I gotta get back to trusting that God’s gonna provide. Here’s the second part is trusting Stefanie, you guys, she knows what she’s talking about. I can say this down into the depths of who she is as a human outside of business because I know her so intimately.
(22:35):
It’s so hard sometimes to know how to trust a person that you’ve only just met online that is trying to sell you something and they’re different and they have this going for them. And well, I don’t have that. And it’s just so hard and I get it. I had to blindly truly, I mean, I listened to every podcast.
(23:00):
I tried to reach out to every single one of her previous students, listened to every coaching episode. I did everything that I could to really vet her and the process before I committed to it. And all I can tell you is that everything from every course to every podcast episode, to everything that she puts out is so unbelievably trustworthy, and you really can trust the model.
(23:28):
The model is what it is, and it’s about how you should go up to it. And it’s about using these secrets that I’m giving you in order to infuse yourself into her business model, to make it your own and to let it ride out in your life so that you can use that as your ticket to success, truly just trust what she says, whether it be the fact that you need to delete a certain couple of words out of your I help statement.
(23:55):
Or if the whole entire crux of your business, you don’t wanna trust because it’s what she tells you to do, just listen. That was me. I was systems are so boring. No one’s going to want that. She’s like, no, you teach systems. That’s what it is. You teach systems to work from home moms.
(24:13):
And I’m like, I don’t wanna just teach work-from-home moms. I wanna teach all the moms and I don’t teach systems. Systems that are boring. I literally teach systems to work from home moms two years later, and it has grown me a six-figure business. And I have over 300,000 downloads on my podcast.
(24:32):
Come on, let me just be the first person to tell you that she knows what she’s talking about. And her processes are very streamlined at this point. And they really are such a great trustworthy tool for you.
(24:47):
And now here’s the last thing that I’m gonna leave you with. And probably one of the biggest secrets inside of this big secret is to trust yourself. It is so hard to show up for something when first of all, you’ve never done it before, or you’ve yet to prove to yourself that you can do it. And that was very hard for me. I had a business for seven years that truly was just like a hobby.
(25:14):
I mean, it was a business just it wasn’t as profitable as we wanted it to be. And there were a lot of things that I wanted to make. It was a business my mom and I ran together, an event-based business and it was really hard work.
(25:27):
And so when I went to my husband and I was like, Hey, can we use our personal money for me to invest in this thing? I have no idea if it’s gonna work or not, which was a major leap of faith. It was really hard for me to have the confidence to say that when I really didn’t even know if I could do it.
(25:44):
I didn’t know if I could feed the babies and clean the house and do the podcast and return that money that we invested. I had no idea if I could actually do it and I can. And so can you. Are there gonna be certain tools that you need to be able to help you? Absolutely.
(26:07):
But there is no shortage of resources within your finger tips, whether it just to be Google on the internet or Stefanie’s Facebook group, and once you become a student of hers, the resources are just exponential. The connections, the community, it’s all there for you.
(26:30):
It’s just a matter of whether or not you’re gonna show up every day. And you’re gonna say, not today, Satan, today I choose the glory and the promises that God has given me, and I might cry and I might grab my teeth and I might wanna throw up a little and I might be really tired, but I’m going to trust myself.
(26:54):
I’m going to do this thing and it’s gonna work for me. And there’s been so many times when I said that to myself, not really knowing if it was actually true, but just deep down in my bones. And that’s where you have to go. You’ve gotta dig deep. You gotta dig deep and know how badly you want this.
(27:17):
Let’s recap very quickly here so that you can take this and go run with it in your life. And if you haven’t gotten started with the Stefanie business model yet, I’m pretty sure you can just go to stefaniegass.com and that will lead you to exactly where you need to go to get started on that journey.
(27:35):
And for those of you that are already in this process, some part of this journey you’re living and breathing it right now, continue it, listen to everything that I’ve had to say today and use it as that little best friend in your back pocket that’s already gone down this road to be able to help you.
(27:54):
So here’s what we went over today. We went over the three main parts of my secret to being able to succeed with the Stefanie Gas business model. The first of them was to invest your time, your heart and your money. The second is to show up, to do the work, keep your head down and be genuine. And the third one is to trust the process, trust God, trust Stef, and trust yourself.
(28:19):
And it’s been super fun hanging out with you, guys, here on The Stefanie Gas Show. And I would love to connect with you over inside of her Facebook group. I’m hanging out over there all of the time. And until next time, God bless.
