defeat the enemy, strongholds and spiritual warfare
Hey Friend!
I have read the comments and heard your cries for help and the one thing that comes up consistently is…consistency! When it comes to podcasting, coming up with content and publishing another podcast episode is difficult, and you want help to be more consistent. I get it, and I often struggle with this too. But, I know the importance of putting out consistent content. It helps our business grow by always being front of mind for our audience. So today, I’m sharing four tips on how you can be more consistent with your content. And, we’ll begin by looking at what the Bible has to say about it. Whether it’s a life circumstance, boredom, an excuse, or anything in between, it’s time to remedy this issue and get you consistent so you can have continued growth in your business.
Two of the Most Common Struggles You Have as a Podcaster:
Having consistent podcast content, and consistently publishing your podcast on a schedule, are the two biggest struggles podcasters have when it comes to consistency. I want you to be inspired and encouraged to put out more content consistently as an entrepreneur, and I can’t wait to share my four tips to help you be more consistent with your podcasting journey. The more you podcast consistently, the more opportunities you have to create evergreen content — content that has a long shelf life that will continuously work for us behind the scenes. If you are not consistent in your content, you are not going to grow the way you want to.
What Does the Bible Say About Consistency?
The Bible talks about consistency: 1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “My beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” If we are called to podcast and create content using our voices, and you know God wants to use you in this way to help people, to inspire them, and to teach them, then be steadfast with your work. You are doing work unto the Lord. This verse is telling us to be consistent and to keep going.
The last part of the verse says “knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” Sometimes it feels like we are on a hamster wheel, always pushing out content with no end in sight, but we have to understand and recognize that if we are continuously abounding, it will not be in vain. There’s always one person who’s touched by what you said on your podcast. We don’t know what God‘s doing with the work He called us to do. So, we have to be consistent in it.
Galatians 6:9
Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” When we are inconsistent, we are having periods of abounding, and then we are having periods of giving up. There is this constant up-and-down rollercoaster. What if you go two weeks without putting out new content? What happens? People start to think the podcast is no longer continuing. The host isn’t showing up, so they stop showing up. They find something else to listen to instead. And then, they go to another podcast and binge-listen to that one.
I understand it’s hard to be consistent when you have family tragedies or emergencies. There was a time when my son had multiple complications when he underwent surgery. My podcast was the last thing that was on my mind. I had incredible friends who went on my show to podcast for me, while I was taking care of my son, because we all knew the importance of consistency. There are going to be times when you have an emergency when you can’t put out a new episode and that’s ok. But, when it comes to inconsistencies that are controllable, I want you to get creative and not give up.
Are Podcasting Inconsistencies Based On A Decision or A Life Circumstance?
Common excuses that lead to inconsistent podcast publishing:
I can’t think of anything to talk about so I won’t do it
I don’t have time
I’m exhausted
My podcast isn’t growing so why keep trying this hard
I’m just going to skip it, it’s not a big deal
Take time to think about whether your decision to skip podcast production is based on a decision, or a life circumstance. Is it your thoughts that are causing you not to show up, or some outside circumstance that is not under your control?
Common Inconsistencies in Our Everyday Lives
We face this problem in multiple areas of our lives, not just podcasting. Healthy living is one of the biggest areas of inconsistencies in our lives. We try to get healthy, but it’s hard to stay consistent with healthy habits. I am always on a journey to being more healthy. I’ve tried venturing into diet culture, and now I want to shift towards focusing on treating my body as a temple because it is. And that’s what we are called to do in scripture. I want to show up for the Lord in the way I treat my body, and in the food that I eat, and exercise that I do.
But sometimes, I don’t have my food prepped and I choose to go out to dinner and eat more than I should, or choose an option that isn’t the healthiest. We make excuses instead of saying we are going to be steadfast and immovable in the work that God has called us to do.
He called me to show up and treat my body in a healthy way. I’m going to get up, work out, drink my water, and eat my vegetables and I am going to abound in the work of the Lord, by getting healthy.
We deal with inconsistencies everywhere in life.
Marriage
Work
Friendships
Finances
Health
We oftentimes don’t show up in the capacity that we were called and we are not consistent. It’s time to shift that. I have 4 things that will help you be more consistent with your content for your podcast. Even though I am talking about podcast content, you can still apply these tips to anything in your life that you want to be more consistent with.
Tip #1 – Get Organized With a Workflow
The first step to becoming more consistent with podcasting is knowing the exact steps to produce a podcast episode. If you don’t know what to do, then how are you going to consistently do it? There’s a lot of guessing, a lot of scrambling and searching, and a lot of friction in the process.
If you are trying to remember all the steps in a process without visually seeing it on paper, or on a workflow, then it’s going to be so much harder for you to complete the task. Creating a workflow helps take the thinking part out of the podcasting journey and instead allows you a place of reference so you know exactly what to do and when. It gives you the step-by-step framework for what you need to do to create content for your podcast. It’s hard to remember everything you did in the past that worked, but writing it down in a workflow eases the process and makes it more repeatable week after week. You are creating a success plan in your workflow so you don’t forget any detail.

Tip #2 – You Must Stay Inspired
Going back to my healthy eating example, I tend to get bored easily when it comes to food. I look at healthy meal ideas watching YouTube shorts scanning for recipes with a lot of vegetables and high protein. I know I need new food ideas in my meal planning to keep me excited to eat healthy.
Our content creation is just the same. If you are sitting with your original 10 ideas for your podcast, you are probably bored. You are sick of talking about the same 10 things. The inconsistency comes from the lack of joy and the lack of fun in the process. Staying inspired is what helps you to stay consistent. For example, I came up with this topic for today’s blog from my market research. I noticed a large majority of my audience uses the phrase “struggling with consistency,” “can’t be consistent” or “I am inconsistent”. I knew I needed to do a podcast episode and blog on this topic. It brings me joy and excitement to help you in this area since I know you are struggling so much with consistency.
Take the time to dive deep into what your audience is saying and how they are saying it. There are a lot of different places you can go to brainstorm and get inspired:
YouTube search bar
Pinterest search bar
Podcasting app search bar
Market research within your groups
Send out emails to your audience
Text 5 friends and ask them what they are struggling with
Read the Bible
Read a new book
Every time I read a book, I get a creative ideas that inspire me. Don’t shut yourself off to new ideas and new brainstorming. Get into a conversation with your ideal avatar. Send a Voxer message to people in your contacts list and ask them to help. You can use my free community for market research and if you are a student in the Stefanie Gass School, you definitely have plenty of opportunity for market research within the student community.
Tip #3 – Batch Record Your Podcast Episodes
Why is it important to batch? First, let’s go over what batching means. Batch is when you are staying ahead in your content creation. On my team, we like to stay two weeks ahead at all times. I always have in the bank four episodes to lean on just in case something happens and I am unavailable to record on time. What if you get sick and lose your voice? What if there is a week where you don’t feel good? And what if you need a break, and you are just tired from putting out content, but you want to stay consistent with hitting publish?
If you don’t have content backed up, you don’t have anything to lean on. There will be times when you can’t stay consistent because that’s life. But, having the episode bank allows me to still be consistent with publishing my podcast episodes on time.
My best suggestion for you, is to take advantage of those moments when you are recording your podcast and you feel like you are on a roll. That is when you want to pump out another 5-10 minute extra episode to keep in your bank for when you need it later. Always batch-record your episodes and have extras on hand for a rainy day. You can learn more about batch recording here.
Tip #4 – Find An Accountability Partner or An Accountability Community
If you are over there in your closet alone recording your podcast, it can be quite boring, to say the least. Having an accountability partner alongside you will help motivate you to be more consistent. I have friends who are on a health journey who check up on me as I focus on my health journey. I also have a health coach I meet with every month. Texting my mom recipe ideas and food ideas is another way I stay motivated. I also have a Bible study group where we talk about what we are making for dinner. I have all these things in my life that are confirming my healthy choices and help me to stay consistent.
The same goes for my business. I have my mastermind that I am a part of when it comes to my business. I also invest in courses and in-person retreats where I am learning. Constantly learning from other people is important to me in order to be more consistent in my business. I meet different accountability partners along the way who are on the same journey as me.

Half the time I have no idea if you liked or didn’t like the episodes I put out. I have no confirmation or affirmation that I should keep podcasting, but I stay consistent and keep going. Some months I don’t get new reviews and the downloads are low. It’s hard to tell if anyone liked the content I put out this month. I am just here to help encourage you and teach you. It’s thankless and it’s hard, but I just have to have this mindset and heart posture that serves the Lord and use my podcast to bless God.
