Looking for Podcast Guests to Interview? Take a Look at These 4 Places to Find Them!

We are going to go through this list of places to find podcast guests for your show. I hope they give you what you need to really connect with the right person. I know there have been a few times where I did not have the right fit, for whatever reason. But these tips will help you discern through and ensure the people you bring on your show are going to add true value and be really aligned with you, your message, and your podcast.

Where to Find Podcast Guests #1: Look Within Your Own Client or Student Base

I absolutely love to interview my own clients and my own students, not only for them to share their wins and testimonies which you hear on the podcast often. But also when I find a student or a client who is doing something really awesome that supports my niche and all of my listeners but I don’t teach it, I have them on the show! This is a great way to give your students and clients a platform. Also, you can’t ask for someone who would be more aligned with what you stand for and who you teach than your own clients and students.

This is really simple! You can do a post in your student community, shoot an email out to your clientele, or simply just ask them! Next time you’re on that coaching call, ask if they would love to come a be a podcast guest.

Where to Find Podcast Guests #2: Ask Your Community

If you have a free Facebook group, for example, or an email list, ask your community for people who might have expertise in certain areas you want to interview in. That is a great way to find podcast guests, because, again, they’ve already been vetted to an extent. They believe in your methods and your systems, and they are morally aligned with you because they are on your list or in your community.

This could look like doing a post or shooting out an email: “Hey, we’re looking for specific podcast guests who have a lot of experience in meal prep.” You could even do a little form and say, “Submit your form and let us know about you. Let us know about your area of expertise.” This allows you to vet them through the form. Or just have them reply to the email.

Where to Find Podcast Guests #3: Ask For Referrals From Your Other Guests

Any time you have a podcast guest (or any guest you’ve had in the past), ask them, “If you had to pick one other person that you think I should interview here on the podcast, who would it be?”

I’ve been asked this question by top podcasters and I have learned to implement it myself! It’s been beautiful because not only do they refer someone to you, they can often make the connection for you. Something like: “Bob, this is Larry. Larry, this is Bob. I totally recommended you could be on his podcast.” It kind of opens that door and becomes the connection point for you.

Where to Find Podcast Guests #4: Apple Podcasts Related or Recommended Podcasts

Last, but not least, this is the one where we get out of our own inner circle.

• Go into Apple Podcasts.
• Go into your show.
• Scroll all the way down to the related and recommended podcasts area.
• See what other podcasts your listeners are loving.

This is a great way to find people who are probably really close to your niche. They are usually pretty similarly sized to you. They might be a little bigger, but that’s okay. We can always guest up.

So see what those podcasts are and if there is a way to get a hold of those people to potentially invite them over onto your podcast. That is a great way for you to find similar-niche guests who can add value. And who knows? Maybe that will lead to you being a guest on their show too!
