Feeling overwhelmed in your search for coaching clients? Sometimes, we overcomplicate things when looking for clients. It’s simpler than you may think.
Are you ready to find coaching clients the easy way? Keep reading; you will learn three places to find your first five paid coaching clients.
First Place to Find Coaching Clients – Your Podcast
Your podcast is the easiest and most low-stress way to get your first clients. Your coaching offers don’t need to be complicated or fancy. On your podcast, announce that you’ll email anyone who wants a coaching call. It might seem basic, but it works.
The best way to attract clients straight from your podcast is to:
- Offer coaching with a non-pressure invitation
- Tell them exactly how to get in touch with you
Close Your First 5 Coaching Clients With a Discovery Call
A simple way to close your first five coaching clients is to do a short discovery call with them. Have a five to 10-minute conversation to get to know them and determine what help they seek. This will help you close the deal. Discovery calls can be quick and easy.
Giving an invitation straight from the podcast is the secret sauce. Here’s why: The beauty of a podcast is you are in with somebody super deep. It’s as if you were having coffee with a friend. That is the level of attention people give you when listening to your podcast.
Because they are like a new friend, they will start to trust you, like you, and learn from you very quickly. Then, they will take action and book that free discovery call.
A Fast Way to Lock in Your First 5 Coaching Clients
If you want to lock in five clients super fast, announce on your podcast that only five spots are available for a FREE discovery coaching call. Tell them to email you for a quick chat to see if you are a great fit.
Set up the five discovery calls and get started. Talking to someone is one of the easiest ways to close that sale.
If you don’t ask, no one will come knocking. No one will go anywhere if you don’t tell them where to go. Have fun with it. Come with an open heart and hand, and see what comes from it.
If you aren’t getting any interest in your podcast, there are a few reasons to troubleshoot. Ask yourself these questions:
- Is your podcast niched in and optimized?
- Is your marketing pitch for coaching calls clear?
- Are you asking them to sign up for a coaching call?
- Are you telling them where to contact you and sign up for a call?
If you answered no to any of those questions, that’s why you aren’t seeing interest in coaching calls. It should be an easy fix. If you need help, you can learn all these strategies in my podcasting group coaching program, Podcast to Profit.
Second Place to Find Coaching Clients – Your Email List
The second easiest place to find your first coaching clients is from your email list. Start collecting the leads from your podcast and do something with them. Take the listeners listening to you every week and nurture them with a weekly email.
An easy strategy is to create a simple opt-in such as: Want to stay updated with weekly episodes? Become an insider.
Your listeners will sign up with their email address and then get the weekly email. Remember, these people love you, so don’t hesitate to ask for the sale again. Put a call to action at the bottom of the weekly email. This is an easy way to turn leads into clients.
Keep your communications low-tech or even no-tech when you are just starting out. Don’t waste time creating fancy sales pages, funnels, and automation. When you don’t have the money or resources to make it professional, it will look unprofessional, and you will lose the sale.
Keep things simple. Ask them to sign up for a coaching call and explain why it makes sense. Tell them to email you or to sign up directly through a Calendly link to book a session with you.
Third Place to Find Coaching Clients – Your Facebook Community
Your Facebook community is the third effortless place to find your first five paying clients. This is another way to nurture the leads coming in through your podcast.
A Facebook group is a place for your people to connect with you and other listeners. You can post videos about taking more clients or share how you solve problems. This is a huge converter, a place to nurture clients, and grow a community.
Bonus Place to Find Coaching Clients if You Don’t Have a Formal Community Yet
Here is a bonus place to find coaching clients if you don’t have a group, email list, or even a podcast. Go into other Facebook groups that are niche-specific.
Let’s say you teach organization for teachers. Find a teacher’s Facebook group and then post a request for market research. Say something like, “If you are struggling with organization as a teacher, I would love five minutes of your time to ask a few questions for market research.”
The beautiful thing is that you can solve one tiny problem in a five to 10-minute chat with somebody. In the end, you can say, if you are ever interested, I do coaching, and I’d love it if you would consider me if you need any additional help with this. This is a fun, roundabout way to get more clients.
Always remember to ask for the next call. Don’t be afraid to do so. At the end of the first free discovery call, this is when the person is most excited about you. They loved your free stuff and just finished a coaching call with you. The client is on fire and excited for what’s next.
You’ve got to ask for the next call. It’s easier to ask than you think. You can say, “If you book three calls now, I will throw in a fourth for free.” Always think about the next steps.
