defeat the enemy, strongholds and spiritual warfare
Hey Friend!
Are you looking for a fun way to engage with your audience and collect leads? A super fun way to grow your online business is through a quiz. Stef has been using the Interact quiz software in her business for the past four years to create quizzes that convert leads and nurture current clients.
She has a FREE quiz which will help you decide if you should start a podcast or not. Stef also has a quiz in one of her courses that helps her students discern if they should coach or do an online course when they are starting their online business.
In this blog, Stef interviews Josh Haynam, cofounder of Interact. Josh shares how you can use the Interact quiz software for lead generation to collect new leads in your business or in your different courses and platforms.
Quizzes are a super fun way to connect with your audience. Keep reading to see if this might be something that you want to integrate in your online business. If you are ready to make your own quiz, click here to get started.
Josh Haynam with Interact Quiz Platform
Stef: Welcome! Tell us a bit about who you are and the amazing company that you’ve built.
Josh: I like the psychology of the internet and marketing and that is how Interact came to be. Interact is a quiz platform and quizzes at their heart are a way for you to connect more closely with your audience. You ask questions and go back and forth with your customer. A quiz is an interaction. I started this company eleven years ago with my two co-founders while we were in college.
Stef: How did you come up with the quiz platform idea?
Josh: It was really an aha moment. I had a ton of respect for my two co-founders in college so I thought it would be great to work together because they were the smartest people I really knew. I learned that we were better as a trio.
We started building websites for people and our clients were asking about their email list growth. While doing a quiz for one of our clients it got tons of emails so we put two and two together and realized everybody cares about emails, and quizzes get emails. We decided to make a quiz platform. We invented the market, stuck it out, and now it has become mainstream.
What is Your #1 Offer?
Stef: That’s so exciting. I love that an idea can be born from the testing. What is the phenomenon of the quiz for a new business owner? Walk us through how it may be used.
Josh: The simplest place to start is to ask yourself: What do people ask me all the time? You probably get asked all the time: Should I do coaching or a course? Your quiz would have a series of questions that would lead your client through the best path for them. Then, once you make the recommendation based on their answers, you would have have a way to help them on either path.
Almost every business has multiple offers. A question that every business owner asks is: How can I guide you to the right product or service that’s a fit for you? That’s how you create a quiz that is most helpful for them.
Stef: What is the best goal for quizzes? How do you structure your quizzes to get the end result that you want clients to land on?
Start with One Primary Quiz to Convert Existing Customers
Josh: First, you should have one primary quiz which addresses the main thing that people are asking you. For example, let’s say you are a nutritionist and everyone is asking: what diet plan should I follow? What should I eat? That’s your primary quiz. Answer that question with the quiz. The quiz guides them to your coaching program or offers. If you don’t have an offer yet, you can send them to another podcast that would be the most helpful based on who they are and what diet you’d recommend.
Create a Topical Quiz to Grow Leads and Reach Your Ideal Client
Next, once your business grows, you will have popular content which can be turned into a topical quiz. Topical quizzes are great for SEO as lots of people are searching for quizzes to answer questions on every topic you can think of. These people are your ideal customer because they are looking for the solution you offer.
Stef: Let’s say I have a top podcast episode on how to grow your business without social media. How do you take that content to make a quiz?
Josh: With Interact, you can take the entire transcript and enter it into our quiz program. You will answer two questions: What is the purpose of this quiz? What is the primary question that you will answer in this episode? Then you will receive a few title suggestions. After deciding the title, you will tell the quiz what to focus on. It only takes about five minutes to go from transcript to a completed quiz.
Stef: When you get the quiz draft do you have to do more edits?
Josh: It depends. Really all you have to do is add the link and CTA. Eighty percent of clients say it’s ready to go or it needs a small amount of editing.
How to Collect Leads with a Quiz
Stef: How do quizzes work to grow a list? Can you explain how someone can use the quiz to collect email addresses?
Josh: The way the quiz funnel works is that someone clicks on your quiz. Then, the quiz will ask questions and start to build rapport with your customer. The questions will speak to the client in a way that at the end of the quiz they feel seen and understood. At the end you will put in an opt-in form where they will fill out their email address. This is your optional offer for more help. This converts at 40% as the client feels known and heard.
Stef: I like that the Interact quiz platform gives the customer their result but also offers the next step. I love the 40% opt-in rate. How does that compare to other website opt-ins such as downloading a free check-list?
Josh: Most opt-ins convert from 5-15%. A quiz is the best opt-in based on the 40% conversion rate.
Stef: Let’s say you’re ready for someone to become your client or to buy your course. How would you structure a quiz that converts?
Josh: It depends on where in the funnel the client starts the quiz experience. You can use branching to filter their journey based on how they answer your questions. If you ask them if they are ready to go and they say yes you can send them directly to the sales page. If they aren’t ready to make a purchase yet, you can lead them to subscribe to your podcast.
How to Know if a Quiz is Right for Your Business
Stef: What other tips do you have for people who are unsure if a quiz is right for their business?
Josh: The program makes things simple. There are people on the Interact team to help you. A quiz is not a magic bullet that gets you traffic. A quiz won’t work if you are still wondering what you offer, how to get seen, or how to get people interested in what you do.
An easy litmus test to see if you are ready to have a quiz is: How often do people ask me the #1 question? If you are asked the question only a couple times a week, just answer the question. But if you are asked the same question twelve times a day, that means you are ready to use a quiz to answer their question.
Stef: That’s an amazing answer. You can always trust someone when they are honest about when it is the best time to buy a product. I tell my students to wait to build the freebie at the end of the course because that’s when they have consistent traffic. I am with you Josh, I completely agree.
