defeat the enemy, strongholds and spiritual warfare
Hey Friend!
As Christian entrepreneurs, we must pray to God and not run our businesses on our own. God needs to be positioned at the center of every decision. I’m a seven-figure CEO, and I pray to God for my business every day. I learned that when I wasn’t fully surrendered to God in my business, I wasn’t having success.
Are you actively surrendering to God every day?
Do you pray to God every day?
What does your prayer life look like over your business?
We can’t just focus on the tangible, tactical, and strategic things. We must surrender to Him. This isn’t a quick “God, please bless my business”. It’s not a name-it-and-claim-it thing. This is a prayer routine.
Have you felt overwhelmed in your business, wondering if you’re making the right moves or choices? Are you struggling to understand your niche and who you are called to help?
In this post, I will share my prayer routine and how I invite God into every decision. I will show how I seek wisdom and actively surrender the results to Him. I will reveal the habits and practices I turn to so that I give it all to God when I sit down to work in my business.
It’s also making sure that I cover all the different areas that pertain to my business. I’ll talk to you about:
how I pray to God,
what I’mdoing on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for my prayer life,
and what I’m praying for.
If you want clarity, peace, and success that lasts and glorifies Him, this post is for you.
Pray to God With a Morning Routine
Let’s begin with the different ways I pray to God for my business. The first way I pray to God for my business is to have a morning prayer routine. I wake up about thirty to forty-five minutes earlier than my kids. If I’m lucky, it might be up to an hour.
In a nutshell, I sit down with my Bible or devotional and dive into this time with God. I get into the word of God – I might journal a little bit. The morning time with Him is the foundation for getting aligned with what my day will look like.
So I’m in the word of God. I’m journaling and covering my business in prayer. I’ll mention what I cover in a little bit, but my morning prayer routine really begins my day on a positive note.
Pray to God With Little Conversations
The second way I pray to God is through little daily conversations. This one takes some time to build up the habit and prayer routine. I have these little conversations whenever I sit down to work and notice I’m getting stressed.
By the fifth morning of a recent live boot camp, things were getting a little spicy. I noticed that I needed a quick moment with the Lord, so I took a breather and said,
“Lord God, please help me have calm confidence as I show up today to train and teach. Thank you for being with me. As I show up in this training, please bless my words. Allow me to be a vessel. Thank you for covering all the tech. I pray the back office and operations go well too. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
HOW OFTEN DO I PRAY TO GOD LIKE THIS?
That was a quick, small snippet of a prayer that I interject into my day. At this point, I pray to God one, two, or three times an hour. I know that may seem like a lot and that may seem like something that you are not actively thinking of every day.
So I encourage you – while you might not be ready to do it yet, it can be done. Set some reminders on your phone, and create some sticky notes. Jot down three or four things you want to pause and pray to God for during the day. This will help you build a habit of doing mini prayers throughout the day.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be, I’m praying now and it looks a certain way. Think of it as conversing with your best friend over coffee. That’s how I think of God. He is my Counselor and Friend. He is every single thing that we need in between. He’s our business partner and CEO.

The third way I pray to God is to have a business meeting with Him. This is once a month or once a quarter. Some of you might want to do this once a week. It’s time that you carve out your day and actively sit with God. It’s a full-out conversation in a business meeting with God. So let’s recap:
Number one: I have a daily morning prayer routine that lasts about thirty to sixty minutes.
Number two: Throughout my day, I have mini prayers with God.
Number three: I pray to God in a weekly, monthly, or quarterly business meeting.
These are three ways that I pray to God, and they have created a meaningful prayer routine for me. You can do this too.
Pray to God for Wisdom and Clarity
Next, we’ll consider what you should pray to God for in your business. First, we should pray to God for wisdom and clarity. James 1:5 says, “Ask for wisdom.” We are to ask for wisdom not just success. I believe God shows up when we do His work on this side of heaven. When we pour out our purpose and work with the gifts He has given us, we will experience success.
When I pray for success, I pray to God for the people who are meant to be there for me. I pray they will come into the business and say, “Yes,” to my offers. Because I believe my offers are the solutions people are desperately praying for.
If you don’t believe that, then we either have to work on your offers so that you’re excited to market them – or we need to work on your mindset.
As Kingdom business owners, we are called to show up and do good work in alignment with God’s will and in partnership with Him. That includes serving, making sales, and helping people. I believe we have to stand behind that as business owners.
Aside from success, I also pray to God for discernment and wisdom, because not every opportunity is from God. We have to be careful that we are actively leaning into God-led opportunities and not just asking Him to bless a decision we have already made.
Pray to God for the People Who Listen to You
Whether in my morning time or those little conversations with the Lord, but definitely in my business meetings with God, I pray for the people who listen to me.
I pray to God for my clients and the people who follow and listen to my teachings. If you listen to my podcast, I pray for you. I pray for each of my students.
I pray for angels to protect them and their business.
I pray against distraction for them.
I pray that God removes their fear and their overwhelm.
Make sure you pray to God for your people too. If you’re not making any sales yet or have no following today, don’t worry. Pray for the future people that God will bring to you.
I believe we have to create the environment to receive. Pray to God for what we know is already done and true. Then God will bless and show up in it because we trust Him.
In a recent training, I said, “Trust requires movement.” Your prayer life asks for active intercession over the people God will bring to you. There is fruitfulness on the other side of prayer.
Declare God’s Promises Over Your Business
The next thing I do is declare God’s promises over my business. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” ~Jeremiah 29:11. Often, trusting God’s plans doesn’t make sense…
The timing is strange.
You don’t have the financial provision.
You don’t feel equipped.
But that’s the point. When you pray to God and ask for His blessing over your business, you allow Him to show up and surprise you. That’s something I encourage you to pray for as well.
“Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.” ~Deuteronomy 8:18
When people partner with God in their businesses and create wealth for the right reasons, God will use that while we’re here. Stop shying away from having Kingdom businesses while we have the opportunity to do so. When we partner with Him, we can make real change for the people we are meant to help.
Pray to be Fully Surrendered in Any Result
The last thing I pray to God is that I will be fully surrendered in any result. Because here’s the deal, we don’t know the outcome. We have no control over the outcome. All we can do is focus on what we have to do today. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” ~Matthew 6:34. I love and live by that. My goal is to show up and say:
Lord, take it
Speak for me
Lead me
Partner with me
Help me trust in You for the results
I don’t know how to get there but I trust God. At the end of the day, I must release the outcome to Him. I can market, sell, and strategize, but He is the one who brings the increase.
“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” ~Proverbs 16:3
My daily reminder is I am not the CEO. Even though I wear the title of CEO, God is truly the CEO of this company. I want to make sure I am really in it with Him even down to the micro detail.
My Prayer to God for You
Those are the ways I pray over my business. I hope this encouraged and inspired you. Let’s take a moment and pray together over our businesses.
Lord God, I pray over every person who might read this. I ask that you cover their business right now and give them discernment on whatever it is they might be struggling with.
I pray You will give them clarity and confidence as they show up in their work. And that You will diminish distraction. I pray You will come against anything trying to get in the way of Your calling over their lives. Help them know the next right step. Help them lean on You every day and seek You in prayer and the Word. Refine their steps.
I pray for the Holy Spirit to remind us as CEOs and business owners that we are enough, that we are equipped, and can do good works that glorify You. I pray that You partner with us in every decision in our businesses. Refine us by the fire and remind us there is fruit in our failure. We surrender to You.
