defeat the enemy, strongholds and spiritual warfare
Hey Friend!
Have you ever wondered what it takes to quit your job and become a full-time podcaster?
It’s hard for me to believe that I get to podcast for a living – that this is my actual J-O-B! I’m so grateful that I could quit my job to do this for a living!
I find myself getting a little emotional when I think about it. Having a job where I get to pour into you, coach my clients, and be fully present for my family is such a dream. So crazy, right?
Today, I’m walking you through six steps to create a profitable full-time podcast. If you want to quit your job, that’s entirely possible. If you want to homeschool your kids, that’s possible too!
When you’re a full-time podcaster, you can get everything done in less thantwo hours per week and have more time to do things that generate an income, like fulfilling your online offer or coaching your clients.
Friends, I am genuinely here for this! With every fiber of my being, I believe that you can quit your job and become a full-time podcaster.
In today’s post, I’m laying things out very tactical and straightforwardly (and maybe a little bit in-your-face, too!). If you’re ready to get serious about how to quit your job and become a full-time podcaster, grab a notebook and pen, and let’s do this!
Quit Your Job: Where a Podcast Fits into Your Business and Makes Money
When we think about creating a business from podcasting, many of us get confused about how podcasting fits into our sales funnel. We believe we need a money-making business or a massive social following to drive traffic to our podcast. Well, guess what? That’s false! The podcast is at the top of your funnel, friends. If your podcast is set up correctly, that’s how we generate new listeners who become leads.
I have been a full-time podcaster for the past six years and a full-time entrepreneur for the past fifteen years! I know all the things NOT to do because I did them, and I also now know WHAT to do. Letting go of everything that didn’t grow my business or glorify God was paramount.
You need to know how I strategically stepped into the methods that have helped me grow into a seven-figure business – all from my podcast! This is the only thing I do now. I have been able to phase out of one-on-one coaching and focus on my group coaching program and my team. It has been a dream!
If there were one thing I wished for myself fifteen years ago, I would one day be able to quit my job and podcast full-time. It freed me from social media, from having to do loads of fulfillment tasks, and allowed me to work in less than 20 hours per week while thriving and loving what I do.
Keep reading for the steps to quit your job and become a full-time podcaster.
Quit Your Job Step 1: Discover Your Micro-Niche
Guys, we’ve got to understand that everything is saturated. Whether it’s podcasting, YouTube, or blogging – whatever your long-form content is, it will probably be saturated. Don’t let that scare you. My only non-negotiable is that it needs to be long-form content. Podcasting is, in my opinion, the best method. It’s the cheapest, the easiest, and has the least overhead. Trust me – I do them all. Podcasting makes the most money in the least amount of time.
You need to focus on being a large fish in a tiny pond. So, what will your niche be?
I teach my students to drill down to the micro, micro-niche level, which means you need to choose a segment of a market.
Let’s use health, for example. You need first to choose an identifier within that market—for instance, pre-natal weight loss. Let’s take it a step further: who is inside that segment? Maybe it’s pre-natal Christian women. Do you see what I did there? That’s how we find our micro micro-niche.
You want to dive into your segment and identifier and figure out WHO is inside your market. That will help you grow a business and a brand that will make you money a lot faster. And the faster this process goes, the sooner you can quit your job and begin podcasting full-time.
Quit Your Job Step 2: Be Extraordinarily Clear
You’re going to go elementary with your content plan. Think about how you can create teachable, tactical content in a bite-sized, easy-to-digest way. You’ll need to be concise when talking to people and assume they have no idea how to do what you do. If I’m going to talk to people about growing a six-figure business and about quitting their jobs and podcasting, then I need to have podcast episodes about things like this:
Overcoming your fear of starting a podcast
Worrying that no one will listen
What type of content to record
How to record a podcast
How often to publish an episode
P.S. If you’re asking the same questions, I have 700+ podcast episodes to support you! Go check them out!
Quit Your Job Step 3: Live for Market Research
You will NOT make money in your business (and you certainly won’t make it quickly) if you build a business based on what you think your audience needs.
For example, one of my first online offers was called Funnel Fusion. It was a catchy and cute title, but not lucrative at all! As it turned out, my audience didn’t want to create a funnel; they wanted to learn how to make money working from home. The funnel was too far beyond where they were, so my offer was a total miss.
If, instead, I had started having Voxer conversations or going into Facebook groups, I would have been able to learn what they truly needed and wanted from me.
Pro Tip: My team and I collect questions from our Facebook community and from the emails you send us. We comb through the Facebook page comments each month and ask students for feedback. In doing so, we get to know you intimately, so when I go to create content, you feel seen and known. I can create an authentic rapport with you and gain your trust. This is something you can and should do in your own business!
Quit Your Job Step 4: Monetize
You’re going to want to monetize your podcast sooner rather than later. This won’t happen by offering thirteen different offers, one tiny offer, or throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks! No – quite the contrary. You’re going to need to figure out your core signature offer.
In my six-month group coaching program, Podcast to Profit, I teach students my three favorite methods for creating a sticky offer to make you the highest profit margin.
If you’ve been praying for a group coaching program with a Christ-centered coach to help you build your offer, podcast, scale, and optimize while glorifying God and making an impact on the world, go check out the details – Podcast to Profit.
Okay, I digress…
My favorite way to monetize early in your podcasting journey is to offer one-on-one coaching. This is a fantastic way to get paid to do market research. As you scale and grow your business, you won’t be as readily available for one-on-one clients, so this is a great offer when you’re new at podcasting.
I was able to grow a six-figure coaching business in twelve months from my podcast. If I can do this, so can you!
Another way to get one step closer to quitting your job and monetizing your podcast is to build an online course or group coaching program. This will allow you to make money earlier in your podcasting journey. Please hear me say this: build ONE core offer. Find your one core offer and stick with it.
Quit Your Job Step 5: Hire Help – and Be Creative!
Friends, you won’t be able to do this alone for long. As soon as you’re able, you’ll need to hire help in your business. Trust me, I know what it feels like when you don’t have the revenue to hire help, and this is where you’ll need to get scrappy.
Can you trade someone for your services and have them intern for you? In my business, we always have about 15 interns trading their time to earn my group coaching program, which works beautifully! Think about ways someone could trade you for your services in that same way – and be creative!
Can you find someone who wants to make less per hour to learn from you? Think: work-study or something similar. If you have teens or young adults, you can hire them as a tax write-off to help you with business-related tasks, like editing podcast episodes or creating graphics.
You won’t be able to scale to six figures entirely alone.
Getting help will free you up to become the visionary and CEO of your business again (ask me how I know). I held on to being a solopreneur for far too long.
Quit Your Job Step 6: Stick with ONE Method and ONE Offer
To quit your job and make a full-time income podcasting, you must stick with one long-form content method and one offer until you reach your first $100,000 in revenue. It’s the power of one, friend!
This is so important – I don’t want you to miss this!
The reason I’m so intentional about this is because if you haven’t validated your offer, you’re not going to make money with offers #2, #3, #4, and so on. Instead, you’ll confuse your audience and dilute your efforts.
Please don’t make this common mistake that so many beginners make. Stick with what’s making you money and grow that. Go guest on other podcasts, or focus on your PR. This is the number one mistake I see new podcasters making – we get bored, we get distracted, we want to do the shiny new thing, but that is precisely what will derail you from having huge success!
Most of my students take a solid 6-18, sometimes 24 months, to get to that level of success before we can look at a secondary offer.
Alright, friends, that wraps up the six steps you’ll need to intentionally take action on if you want to quit your job and go all in on full-time podcasting. Here’s a quick summary of what we learned today:
Step 1: Discover your micro-niche
Step 2: Be extraordinarily clear
Step 3: Live for market research
Step 4: Monetize
Step 5: Hire help (and be creative)
Step 6: Stick with ONE method and ONE offer

Today, it’s just you, me, and my lukewarm coffee as I share with you what happened at my annual CEO Retreat. Grab a pen and paper and let’s dig deeper into what happened at my CEO Retreat and what you can learn from it for your business.
This post is based on Day Two of the New Year, New You series. It’s all about organization. To teach you about this topic of organization, I have one of my favorite people on the planet to dive deep into productivity and systems, my incredible friend Chelsi Jo Moore.
Today, let’s talk about the concept of imposter syndrome. Experiencing imposter syndrome means doubting your abilities and feeling like a fraud, as though you don’t deserve to be recognized as an expert.
Do you know what God’s call is for you? How can you overcome distraction and hear God’s call? If you’re anything like me, you have been attacked from every angle with fear, worry, anxiety, and sadness.
Feeling stumped with your podcast content? I’ll share three key concepts and an action plan to create highly desired and listened-to content that is also found worldwide.
