Kelsey: I am Kelsey Wickenhauser. My podcast is Kingdom Fit Moms. I left my career as a physician assistant to build a business helping Christian women lose weight for the last time. Using a combined approach of lifestyle medicine and real food, I help women say goodbye to diet culture and heal from battling the scale and diets.
Stef: I love this so much. Isn’t it nice to be clear on exactly who you help and how you help them? Helping moms lose weight for the last time is super clear.
MORE SALES WITHOUT SALES CALLS TIP #2: INVEST IN COACHING TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS
Stef: Share how you found me because you already had a business, and you were making sales. You were doing well.
Kelsey: I built a business quickly using social media but felt burnt out. I wanted to continue to have a reach but in a different way that wasn’t so draining. You were recommended to me, and I binge-listened to your podcast while on a seven-hour road trip. I listened to your free training, joined Podcast Pro University, and then Podcast to Profit.
Stef: You invested in Podcast Pro University and fully launched your podcast. What made you then want to join Podcast to Profit?
Kelsey: I started my podcast with Podcast Pro University, and it was successful. I did your whole launch plan, and I grew relatively quickly. I had it in my head that I would keep figuring it out on my own, but then I hit a stall. When you offered a flash sale, I decided to jump in. It has been so worth it. Everything taught in Podcast Pro University is on steroids in Podcast to Profit.

Stef: What was your favorite part of Podcast to Profit?
Kelsey: I came in with a lot of confusion around my offer. I needed help, and I got to talk to you on some of the calls. My favorite part is receiving clarity about how to grow in a way that doesn’t drain me. I also love the SEO teaching with titles and how to make things catchy so that people find you. That has been invaluable.

Stef: What was your method for business growth before podcasting?
Kelsey: I posted inside a Facebook group, held challenges, and ran a lot of launches. I had too many offers.
Stef: Yes, I remember this conversation telling you, “One thing, Kelsey. What’s your one thing?” With all of those on the go, you were probably feeling drained from constantly working and hustling and being married to social media.
I remember you were selling to the same people because you weren’t growing as quickly as you wanted to with an organic market. That means always coming up with a new offer to keep selling to the same people.
The shift happened when you learned how the podcast could bring in new leads who would listen to you, love you, and be interested in working with you.
Kelsey: Yes, I remember being in your Facebook group and saying, “It’s working. I’m not even talking to people on sales calls because they are buying.”

Stef: Amazing. I appreciated that you were on almost every call inside Podcast to Profit. You came with your questions. A key to your success was being a good student. You were on those calls, and you were coachable. You were willing. What tips do you have for people who think they don’t have time to invest in a program or to show up for a Mastermind like this?
Kelsey:If you can’t make time to invest in a program, then your business is probably not going to grow. I homeschool my children, so I wanted to make a way for my family to have another income. It burned in me to expand my mission to the women I serve and to serve my family. So, I was determined to invest in Podcast to Profit and do whatever it took to learn everything that I could. I sat in my car with my hot spot during my kids’ activities to make sure I tuned in to see if my question was answered that day.
MORE SALES WITHOUT SALES CALLS TIP #6: BE WILLING TO ADJUST WHAT YOU ALREADY CREATED
Stef: I admire that you already had all the things and they were kind of making money. Was there any resistance when I said, “We’re going to get rid of a lot of this. We should simplify it and drill it down instead of creating more.” It’s the opposite of what most coaches would have you do.
Kelsey: Yes. I stared at you and thought about it, and had to think about it some more. You told me I needed to change a lot, but it worked. It made sense. Sometimes making hard moves in your business takes you back a few steps in order to really expand.
Stef: That’s powerful. Take a few steps back so that you can expand. If we let ego get in the way because we think, I already have something. I’m not going to change it because it was too much work. Well, then what are we here for?
MARKET RESEARCH KEEPS YOUR ONLINE BUSINESS OPTIMIZED
Stef:An online business is continually about optimization. It’s continuously discovering what your people are saying because it changes and evolves. Now you know how to do new market research. You know how to test your keywords to be sure they’re working. You have all of this in your marketing pocket. How has that been valuable since completing the program?
Kelsey: It provides peace of mind that you have the strategy moving forward because I know where to spend my time. People are finding me from my podcast, so I can keep optimizing that with your system rather than doing all the things. Podcast to Profit is right for someone who wants to podcast to grow their business rather than have a YouTube channel, post every day on social, or make tons of sales calls.
MORE SALES WITHOUT SALES CALLS TIP #7: YOUR PODCAST SELLS FOR YOU
Stef: Exactly. So you go through this program. You are an exceptional student. We refined your offers. We got rid of a lot and clarified your messaging around what you were selling so that we spoke to where your ideal person is struggling. What is the outcome today after going through all that hard work?
Kelsey: My podcast has almost 40,000 downloads. I have clients from Australia, England, and all over the world. I never would have been able to connect with people all over the world without the podcast. Besides making money, my favorite win is that I don’t have to do a bazillion sales calls anymore because people listen to my podcast and get to know me through it. Not making a ton of sales calls has been lovely.
Stef: That is huge. It takes so much time to get on sales calls after sales calls. The podcast builds trust and serves as an authenticity builder, which is the point of a sales call.
Your podcast does the sales call work for you. Ideal listeners sit with you like you did with me on your seven-hour road trip. By the end of the seven hours, you knew everything about me. We are best friends. Who you are comes through what you share in your episodes. I love that podcasting takes the place of your time making sales calls. Freedom from that.
MORE SALES WITHOUT SALES CALLS TIP #8: YOUR COURSE CREATES EAGER CLIENTS
Kelsey: I was only group coaching before Podcast to Profit, but with your help, I refined my offer so that the starting point is a course similar to how you have Podcast Pro University. Now my ideal person can go through that starting point, get what they need from the program, and learn how to achieve kingdom-minded weight loss. If they need more help, they’re ready and willing to come into coaching. So being able to refine that offer so that those who come into coaching are ready to do the work has made everyone win.
Stef: I love it. You have sold a few courses so tell us about the money.
WHEN CLIENTS ASK TO WORK WITH YOU
Kelsey: I think I’m up to sixty or more course sales now since I started the podcast. The amazing thing is before I asked people to get on a sales call to talk about working together. Now I have people reaching out to me organically through email, Facebook, or wherever saying, Hey. Can we talk about working together?
Stef: What an incredible sales strategy because they don’t feel sold. For you, Kelsey, they feel like there is finally an answer to their prayer. You are the right coach for them who understands what they need and what they’ve tried that hasn’t worked. You understand food from a biblical perspective. And they trust you because they listened to hours of your podcast.
Kelsey: Yes, it takes away the negative vibe of sales calls when you can show up and talk about what you like talking about.
