Basically, how to convert using urgency. Whoop. I know you’re going to love today’s show, grab a notebook and pen. This one is full of super juicy tacticals.
(01:20)
Before we dig into today’s show, Hey, are you ready to work together or what girl? If you’ve been hanging out and you’re like, I don’t know. Should I do the things? Could I really do it? Who am I? Am I qualified? Would anybody listen to me? What would I sell? Would this even work? Just stop the madness, girl. It’s time. It’s your time.
(01:42)
We are here for the, yes, we are here for the amens. We are here to do work for God’s kingdom. Okay. So that means you, boo, even if you’re sitting at a position where you’re like, I don’t even know what I would do. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. What my calling is. I haven’t heard any clarity over this. Hi, I can help you. I think, I know that God has helped me with gifting other women clarity.
(02:11)
When I am able to take what you already have, what you’ve always had and kind of rearrange it for you so that you can see clearly the direction you’re supposed to walk in, you have that semblance of clarity and then God can lay the path before you, he can’t open the doors for you. But you got to first open your eyes to what you’re supposed to be doing and begin to take action.
(02:33)
Okay? because clarity comes from having a direction and then stepping out when the outcome is not clear, it’s never going to be clear. That is the ultimate act of faith. That’s the ultimate act of surrendering is saying yes and amen to whatever God’s tugging you to do. We’ve got to figure out what that thing is. I want to ask those of you who are in that seat to raise your hand and trust me and say yes, to clarify your calling, which is at clarifyyourcallingcourse.com.
(03:02)
Let’s do this next. You got the clarity. You’re ready to go, but you want to build the audience without banging your head against the wall. Okay? You’re like, I don’t want to spend hundreds of bucks on ads. I don’t want to show up on social media, 24/7. I don’t want to set up fancy funnels that make people vomit because they know that they’re automated and really super weird and salesy and creepy.
(03:22)
You just want to use your voice like this authentically. And yes, trust me. You can. I’ve helped over 400 people just like you. If they can do it, so can you. It’s the long game, evergreen, forever. It’s SEO-rich and keyword-rich. I will teach you everything you need to know about podcasting. There it is: podcasting. Go to podcastprouniversity.com. And finally, you have a show, but you want to go all in.
(03:47)

(04:13)
Let’s go, partnered with God in this thing to figure out how you can serve your person. podcasttoprofitmastermind.com. That is podcasttoprofitmastermind.com. Get in your app. You’ll hear from us soon. Let’s go. Okay. So let’s talk about a little bit of sales psychology. First, there are people who want whatever it is you’re selling. Okay? You’ve got a product.
(04:48)
Let’s say you sell a network marketing product, or you sell coaching or you sell an ebook or you sell a mini course or a big course, or you sell a mastermind or a program or whatever. It doesn’t matter. Whatever you sell. There are people eyeing what you sell, thinking about it. It doesn’t matter. The price 7 bucks, 27 bucks, 97 bucks, 500, a thousand. It doesn’t matter. $2,500.
(05:09)
They’re thinking about it. Now, as consumers, we sit and we think about stuff because it’s an investment it’s uncomfortable. Can we actually do it? We’re full of limiting beliefs. We aren’t sure if we’re going to get the yes from our spouse. We’re unsure if that money is going to come back to us, we’re just sitting on a whole bunch of bucket, a bucket of worry.
(05:27)
Okay. We’re like, ah, I don’t know. What I’ve seen in almost nine years of being a full-time entrepreneur is people just need a swift kick in the booty. It’s like, let’s go, right? It’s a little tough love mixed with you’re missing out mixed with you got to go girl, and you got to speak belief into people. This is really the truth. This is really, you know, the secret of sales is you have to help people believe that they can do it.
(05:58)
It’s one thing to see you do something. It’s one thing for them to see other people’s success stories. But how do we get our people to believe that they can do it, that they will have a result, that they will have a transformation, that this product will help them, that the book will solve their problems. So that’s the first thing is you have to understand where your person is at in their mindset.
(06:19)
Start from there. That’s where the that’s where the verbiage and the copy has to come from. If you just heard me pitch at the beginning of this episode, that’s exactly what I did. I spoke to where you are sitting in your, you know, being unsure, in your feelings. Okay, about, can I? Is this for me? Could I, and those are the pain points that I spoke to.
(06:45)
That’s number one is you’ve got to speak to your person’s pain points. As you get into marketing something to them, it’s not about selling a product. It’s not about the price. It’s about transferring belief. Number one, number two, you have to have seasons of urgency. If you constantly have an evergreen thing, that’s just always available. You’re going to sell a few, but you’re going to have a lot of people who just sit on the fence.
(07:07)
There are the gawkers, the gawkers and the stockers. And they’re like, Oh, maybe I should get that. I don’t know. Oops. Squirrel. Okay. So you got to grab your gawkers and stockers with an urgency play. So, you know, like you guys saw last week, I just did the flash sale 20% off. Now I only do that a couple of times a year, because I want to offer a variety of different urgencies to capture my people. Those of you who are sitting on the sidelines.
(07:34)
Some of you want a sale, cool. You hopped on last week’s offer. Some of you are waiting to do something as a group. Cool. We’ll run group stuff once in a while, some of you are waiting for a bundle offer. Cool. We’ll do that. Like there’s different reasons people wait. Also timing. You know, people are not ready because you’re ready.
(07:55)
They’re ready when they’re ready. They’re ready when God gives them the go. We have to just be mindful of every three or four months driving urgency to your thing. And we’ll talk about some examples in a minute. The next thing you have to ask yourself is what is my goal here? What is my goal?
(08:13)
The way I work, this is I look at our promotion calendar and I know, okay, I’m running Podcast to Profit three times a year, January, May, and then August/ September. Okay. So we’re running it three times a year. Well, I’m always going to have to promote Podcast to Profit two weeks before it starts. That’s off the calendar for me to do any urgency for me to do any additional sales, because I don’t do urgency offers for Podcast to Profit because it’s a mastermind.
(08:42)
It’s full immersion. It’s my time. There is never a sale on that, period. End of story. The urgency is the fact that there are 20 spots. The urgency is the fact that you can only take it three times a year, that is not a program. So that’s happening two weeks before each program. Those are marked off the calendar. I can’t really do something in addition to that. I could, but then it gets distracting for the audience.
(09:06)
So when you look at the goals, you then ask yourself, okay, well, what months am I just rocking and rolling doing Podcast for Profit, where I can capture other people that need a different solution, right? Those of you who still need clarity, or you still, you are ready to start the show or you need Pinterest marketing or whatnot. So we go roughly, um, on the months where I’m just working the biz, nothing promotional.
(09:29)
And I asked myself, what can I do in here to drive urgency, to drive engagement, to foster more trust. And like you guys saw, um, in December we did the 12 days of Christmas. That was just to bless you to foster engagement, to inspire. Well, December was one of the best months in my entire, in my lifetime and my business December and January. So it worked to grow and inspire trust.
(09:51)
And when you grow and inspire trust in your person, they will eventually spend money with you, right? They’re going to say yes to your solutions, which is exactly what happened. Even though we didn’t sell anything during the 12 days of Christmas. Crazy. Right? So the other goal we have is to sometimes offer flash sales or a bonus offer. Why? Because some of you are driven by a sale. That’s me. I’m actually a sale consumer.
(10:15)
I love a good, you know, 50 bucks off, a hundred bucks off, 20% off of stuff. I’m constantly looking for the deal. I don’t know what that is. It’s, it’s my mom and me. And so I’m waiting for that. So a couple of times a year, when nothing else is going on in the calendar, we’ll run a flash sale, just like we did last week, that captures all of the people in the pipeline and who had been waiting to say yes, but they needed a reason to say it.
(10:43)
That’s a great goal for you to have on those months that are low traffic, nothing’s really going on. You’re already rocking and rolling in your other programs. You haven’t done something in a while. Cool. Plus it’s super easy, like running a flash sale. I don’t have to show up. I’m doing nothing. I make a graphic.
(10:58)
Boom done. Okay. The other thing you want to think about is you want to not look, get what everyone else is doing, but also pray. So bringing God into sales in your business, bringing God into your strategy. And as you look at your year and your planning, your promotion calendar, ask God like, Hey, what can I do here to better serve my person? What do they really need? Show me that show me those needs that they have bring me the women who are here to support me.
(11:23)
You heard me last week. Also talk about praying for your business. That was on Wednesday of last week. Please go listen to that episode. I promise you. I really truly believe it will change your life and your business. That’s what I’m talking about right here. Number four is pray. All right. The next one is to actually do the promotions and I want to give you some examples.
(11:41)
Different types of ways that you can promote your products. Drive sales, drive trust. You can do free stuff like we did. The 12 days of Christmas, you can do a free training in your groups, casually mentioning your stuff in stories. I’m always talking about my clients, meetings with clients, sharing testimonies. I’m not even asking people to buy. There’s no swipe up.
(12:03)
It’s purely social proof. It’s just constant. Like, Hey, reminder, reminder, friend of mine. So friend of mine and your stories, friend of mine in your group without even selling. Okay. Super, super easy to do. And those of you that feel weird about sales, you can start there if you don’t have any testimonies yet, give a few products away. Giveaway a couple of spots in your program for 50% off or even free to get the testimonies, to get the social proof and share them.
(12:30)
The other thing you can do, like I mentioned, is an urgency, a contest you can give away a scholarship to your program, giveaway a bundle of your products in exchange for blank. And what do you want? This brings us back to the goal. What do you want? Do you want people to leave you written reviews on your podcast? Do you want people to invite other friends to your Facebook group, figure out what you want and then do a contest or a giveaway.
(12:54)
You can do flash sales bonuses. You can do a coaching offer in addition to your program, just figure out what your goals are, what you’re comfortable offering, and then space them out for the rest of 2021. Now I like to do, do something every other month. This can be either we’re promoting Podcast to Profit because that’s already urgent. There’s only 20 spots.
(13:17)
It typically sells out before it even launches, which is a great problem to have, or we can do a flash sale or I can do a bundle offer, or I can come up with something fun. Like I’m going to do a group coaching. In addition to this thing over here, I can do a contest to drive reviews to the show. You guys it’s limitless the way that you can keep your business exciting for your consumer, for your Lola.
(13:43)
Now make it about her. This is my last bonus tip for you. Think about what brings excitement to you as a buyer. What do you like? Who do you follow that you think is a great promoter and think about why you feel that way. What is it that they say to you that connects what are the pain points that they bring up for you that hits you just the right way?
(14:05)
That brings you back again and again and again, because those are the questions you need to ask yourself for your Lola, for your purpose. Just to recap, you really want to think about how to connect with your mentor. So what are the problems that your products, services, courses, etc, solve that’s number one, number two, you need to create urgency in your planning.
(14:32)
So figuring out what you’re promoting, when number three, have a goal for these promotions and space them out. Don’t do the same thing two months in a row, do something different every other month. Just go from your heart, think outside the box. What can you do that no one else has ever done? Keep it interesting. There is a reason we don’t do boring, played-out five-day challenges over here. Because everyone else is doing that.
(14:55)
It is just obvious what the point of that is. Pray. Go back to the episode from last Wednesday, How to Pray for Your Business. Bring that in, please, please, please, please. Then, number five and six, is promo. Well, actually just number five, promote and go for it. And when I’m talking promotion, I’m talking all out. Everything you got, girl. Lives, posting on social posting in your stories, posting in the Facebook groups, getting people to share their testimonies.
(15:27)
Even having people on a launch team that you give a little gift or a free coaching call to in exchange, you got to have all hands on deck when you are in a promotion. This is also why we typically don’t promote things longer than three days, except for Podcast to Profit. Okay? Because it is all at emergent. Another reason is I do them on Monday because I don’t want to work on the weekends during a promotion.
(15:51)
Promotion means energy. Promotion means the transfer of belief. It means everyone has to know that this offer is happening. Right? So last week when I did the flash sale, I had emails, graphics, social. I had the team working on it, people sharing testimonies for me. I sent three or four emails out, posted in the Facebook group, and went live in the Facebook group.
(16:17)
Angel went live in the group, like all hands on deck that is promotion. And if that makes you feel uncomfortable, it good. It will stretch you. You got to step out of the comfort zone in order to make an impact. If anybody’s feeling weird about selling your stuff, why people need your solution so that they can get the breakthrough, right? If you don’t truly believe in what you are selling, marketing, standing for the products the way, well, then you got to reevaluate what you’re selling.
(16:46)
Now, there were things I wasn’t super like, Oh, this is it. I know how to do this. It’s because I was marketing something that I hadn’t yet done. You’ve got to market the things you’ve already done to the people who are two steps behind you. That is how you stay confident. That is how you know you’re going to get a result. Then you go crazy girl. I truly believe you can. I’m here for it. Praying for you, excited for you.
(17:10)
Get in my DMs and tell me what your next promotion is. I would love to hear from you. And, y’all, so cute. I got a message this morning and she’s like, you probably have 500 messages. I almost didn’t message you to tell you this. And she had like this life-altering story that she wanted to share with me from one of my episodes.
(17:27)
And I’m like, I only had three messages today. This blessed me so immensely. So take the time to share when somebody’s stuff impacts you, not just me, whoever, whoever that is. 30 seconds will transform someone else’s day and never assume, you know, never assume that someone’s too busy to hear from you. Or that, that review won’t matter on that person who has 2,000 reviews or whatever it is.
(17:51)
Take the time to say thank you to bless someone else with your transformation, because it truly is why we’re all sitting here behind this mic. All right. I hope that this finds you right on time, that God blesses you and is with you and keeps you and smiles graciously upon you today, sister. I just pray that you are partnered with him in everything that you do, that you are raising your hand and saying, choose me.
(18:16)
I’m here for this saying yes and amen to what he has in store for you. I love you. I’ll see you back here real soon. Love and God’s light, Stef.
