(00:00):
Hey, sis! Welcome to the Blow Up Your Biz series. Yes, we are doing this fun thing. Why not? Here we are, almost 2022, and I just figured let’s do something fun. Let’s do something different. And let’s just really focus on hitting 2022 with as much momentum and as much intention as we possibly can so that we can have the biggest year ever so that you can have the most successful, fruitful business in your entire life, numbers, and downloads, and provision and things that you didn’t even know possible.
(00:41):
It is actually possible and all begins right here with this series. This is gonna be three episodes where we’re gonna go through today, Thursday, and next Monday, how to blow up your biz. This is my personal three step process. When I really sat down and looked at how do you really take your business next level?
(01:02):
These are the three things that I think are a must. And they’re very tactical. Obviously, the unspoken one is you have to have clarity. But then after that point, these are the three tactical things that can truly take you six figures, million dollar businesses and beyond.
(01:21):
So that’s what we’re gonna be doing. If you’re not subscribed to the show, girls, stop playing. Do the things. If you haven’t left a review for the podcast yet, do the things. That is the number one way that you can thank me. Listen, if you’ve been hanging out here, let’s do this. If you didn’t get me a Christmas gift, but you want to, you’re like, you know what?
(01:41):
This podcast is helped me in some way, it’s helped me grow. It’s stretched me. Encouraged me. Made me laugh. It’s whatever it’s done, but it’s helped you. Would you do me a solid right now, friend? Pause this episode and just take 30 seconds and leave a review for the show. We are so close to 500 reviews and that would be the most exciting thing in my entire life, if we were able to pass 500 reviews before the first of the year.
(02:08):
So if you haven’t done that it would bless me so big. I read every single one and it matters to me and it blesses me and it’s the only way I know if you like this podcast, there’s no like button. There’s no comments that you can leave me other than the review. So right now, pause this, go to your iPhone, go to your iTunes, go to my show, scroll all the way down to the review section.
(02:35):
And when you see the reviews, there’s a little words that says write a review, just click that button. It takes 30 seconds. Thank you. I appreciate you so much. You have no idea how much that really does help the show. And, I hope you had a great Christmas. We sure did. We’re like that family. Have you guys seen that movie Four Christmases? That’s totally us. It’s like, time to go to this one.
(02:56):
Drive over here. Do this, like it’s crazy. And today’s our first down day, the day I’m recording this and I’m just like, oh, mama needs a nap. Oh, wait, I have a podcast due tomorrow, so here I sit, but I am in my comfies, makeupless. I’ve got a coconut LaCroix. Life is good. I’m so ready to do this with you.
(03:18):
So, grab a notebook and pen. I’m gonna be pouring into you today. We are really digging into step one of The Blow Up Your Biz series, which is How to Launch a Podcast in 30 days. This is a four week framework on how to go from planning all the way to promoting your show. Let’s get it.
(04:36):
Let’s go, girl. Before we dig in, I just wanna let guys know that we have four spots left for Call Her Blessed. Chelsi Jo, my biz and life bestie and my event that we are running in Gilbert, Arizona, March 4th, 5th and 6th. This is gonna be such an incredible immersive event where you can just elevate your business. We take goal setting all the way up.
(05:02):
We really go through a three tier process of figuring out who God is calling you to be and what those goals are that he has for your life. And we take that and we create really amazing, big tactical, juicy God driven goals, but then we help you dissect them using my big goal setting and vision casting process.
(05:20):
And then Chelsi is really reverse engineering process, taking you all the way through what do you actually need to do to make that happen? And you walk away from Call Her Blessed with a 90 day vision of your life that’s going to be super achievable. Plus we leave you with accountability. You get pampered. You won’t believe the restaurants we’re taking you to.
(05:40):
You won’t believe the women that are coming already. Talk about looking for your tribe of faith centered God led kingdom business women. This is it. If you want more information or one of those four spots has your name on it, go to callherblessed.us. And the price is going up January 1st. So if this has been on your heart, you’re gonna want to run and get registered ASAP.
(06:08):
So today we’re talking about How to Launch a Podcast in 30 Days. Why podcasting? Well, I mean, do we really need to get into this? Let’s do a quick skinny on this one because I think that you guys know if you’ve been hanging out with me for any amount of time, why podcasting?
(06:25):
People love audio learning. Audio learning is exploding. Podcasting is how I grew my business over half a million dollars in revenue, because it’s some thing that you get to show up and be authentically you and touch people and transform them and connect with them at a deep level. It’s a platform that’s super easy for them to consume.
(06:48):
And it’s super easy for you to commit to. I’ve been doing this for over three years and it’s not hard. It’s actually quite easy and it’s gotten easier and easier and it’s gotten more and more profitable. It grows there’s momentum. And it’s just such an easy way to build super quick trust with your audience and trust equals sales, trust equals yes to you, to coaching with you or your programs, your courses.
(07:16):
And anyone can podcast, anyone. I don’t care if you teach meal prepping. Awesome. You can have a podcast. I don’t care if you say, well, I teach how to a patient parent. Amazing. You can totally have a podcast, Stef, I don’t think I can have a podcast, I write devotionals. You bet your bottom dollar you can have a podcast. Anything that you do, you can teach about.
(07:39):
You can inspire. Have quick tips. Do a quick, small 10 minute mini episodes. You could have long interview episodes. Anything. There are no rules. The only rule is you have to be consistent and you have to marry it for at least a year to start seeing really big returns on your time investment. But I promise you it’s an ROI that’s priceless because the dollars they will come.
(08:03):
Podcasting is so legit. And the way that I teach podcasting, obviously I’m a podcasting coach, you guys know this, I have a podcasting course. I’ve helped over 560 people launch successful shows at this point. I teach you how to do it simple, easy, scrappy, and legit. I’m not here to tell you you need $2,000 equipment. I’m not here to tell you that you have to do hour long, edited, highly produced shows.
(08:27):
I want you guys to pump out content that’s really good, really gangster, 20 minutes or less, edit it yourself. One, done, sun, post it up there and move on with your life. I am here to tell you that this is so much easier than you think, and that maybe even what people have told you thus far, and you can go ask any of my students about the way that I teach podcasting, because it’s all about your content.
(08:52):
It’s about your delivery and your passion and your heart for service and helping people. That is what it’s all about. I could care less if you have the best microphone or if you just record from your phone, because all I care about is that you’re stepping up behind that mic and doing what God asked you to do. And you’re teaching in a way that He’s asking you to teach and you’re giving your heart and you’re blessing someone else.
(09:15):
If you’re doing that, you will have fruit. I promise you. There’s fruit on the other side of obedience, 120000000%. So let’s talk about it. You’re like, yes, I think I’m gonna do a podcast. Stick with me because I’m gonna roll through with you right now how easy this can truly be. We’re gonna go through a 30 day launch a podcast plan right now.
(09:41):
So what you can do is grab a sheet of paper, you’re gonna write down week one. We’re gonna do a few things week one. Now, if you guys are listening to this episode, I want you to think about realistically having a podcast in the world 30 days from right now. The very first thing is we’re gonna plan your podcast.
(10:02):
So step one, which we’re doing in week one is you’re gonna plan your podcast. Now this assumes, huge disclaimer right now, hold up. You must have clarity to move into week one. What does this mean? It means you have your five tier brand map coming out of Clarify Your Calling.
(10:26):
And if you’re like, what is Clarify Your Calling? I’m new around here? That’s my first course, clarifyyourcallingcourse.com. And it is a course that helps you get clear on your calling so that you know how to start your online business.
(10:42):
You have the five tiers of your brand map, your title, your tagline, your description, your avatar, and your pillars. You must have those five things before you get into your 30 day launch a podcast, start a podcast period of time. So that’s what you’re gonna take is your five tier brand map and you’re gonna plan your podcast.
(11:03):
So what this means, and I teach you guys this in PPU, my podcasting course, but I’m gonna teach you how to set up a MindMeister map. And basically we’re gonna take the fifth thing that we do in the brand map called the pillars. So this is the thing you’re gonna teach about. These are the legs of the podcast. So my legs are what? Clarity. Yes. I’m always teaching on clarity over your calling.
(11:34):
Leg number two is this online business model, which has podcasting in it. And it also has some online marketing in there. My next pillar is going to be teaching monetization and sales. And then I actually have a fourth pillar, which is faith. Cuz I teach how to have a God centered business and God led success.
(11:57):
So those are my four pillars. Well, under each pillar, I wanna build out a content map so that I know what are my podcast episodes going to be at least over the next two weeks to 30 days. So that’s what we’re gonna do in week one. We’re just planning this bad boy out. We’re figuring out what is it called? What is my tagline? My description? What are my pillars? We’re cleaning up the avatar and we’re doing your content map. Those are all the things you’re doing week one.
(12:28):
Now, I want you underneath that, right now you’re just gonna make a list, you don’t have to do any of these things until this episode is over. Week two, here’s what you’re gonna do. Now, we’re actually gonna start going. You’re gonna like, oh my gosh, we’re doing this. So you’re gonna get some podcast channel art created. Please do not create your own busted art. Please hear me. If you are not graphically inclined. And some of you think you’re graphically inclined, which is like, love me, but hear me, you’re not.
(13:08):
And I was totally that person. I was like, I can bust out some channel art, I mean Canva. And I did. And I rolled with it for far too long and it really makes such a difference. Having professional quality podcast art, it’s like the cover of your book, please. If that’s the only $75 you spend on this entire thing and you record from your phone, okay.
(13:36):
But just please get channel art. I would highly recommend my graphic designer, Ale Merino, ale.merino@gmail.com. You can also go to her website, ahappymompreneur.com. She’s amazing. Fiver, guys, has some good people on it that can help you create your art as well.
(14:01):
So we’re gonna get art in the works cause that’s gonna take a little bit to get back to you. And then you’re gonna head over to Podbean, which is where I host my podcast. All of this is in Podcast Pro University, my course. Do not fret. I’d prefer you not to duct tape this together and to invest in my course so that you’re doing it right.
(14:21):
And you can grow faster and you can explode your show much quicker than when you try to do this on your own. I have a lot of students, guys, that come over and they tried to duct tape their podcasts together and they hosted it in weird places. So now they’re trying to migrate their host over. They didn’t set up the SEO correctly. They didn’t understand metadata, all the things I teach you in the course, they didn’t do it, which is okay. I understand getting started scrappy, totally get that.
(14:50):
And I understand that action is important, but if you can find a way to invest in a course that’s gonna teach you how to grow as fast as possible yet, do it right and stay yoked up with your calling and who God’s asking you to be and doing this all in a non husstle way, just please do the things. What do you have in your garage? Let’s have a garage sale. Sell some things on Craigslist. Let’s just not take shortcuts. It really makes a difference.
(15:18):
So in week two, we’re gonna complete our setup. Now our setup is uploading, getting some information, uploaded into Podbean, which will be our host. Don’t worry. The host is super simple. It’s just the place that’s gonna hold all your episodes for you. And when you upload a new episode, it’s gonna share it on your behalf to all the places that we link up, our RSS feed. Again, don’t worry, in the course.
(15:42):
We’ll set up your SEO week two, and we’re gonna just do some basics. Those are actually, even though you’re like, what is that stuff? It’s a really quick learn and it’s super quick this section. So this might take you two hours. Then the next thing we’re gonna do in week two is we’re actually gonna record your intro and your exit to your show. So that’s a super quick module in Podcast Pro University, but basically it’s what is this podcast? Why are you doing this? What’s in it for me? And then who are you?
(16:18):
So, if I was to riff you guys a super quick intro example, let’s say that we’re doing a patient parenting podcast. So I would say something like welcome to Calm Down Mama, a podcast for all of you mamas who are yelling a little too much, and then feeling a little too guilty about it. And then starting the cycle back over and over again. You’re finally ready to listen to your kiddos and to have them behave, but you don’t know where to start. Welcome to the Calm Down Mama Show.
(16:50):
Hi, I’m Cindy and after 10 years of learning the hard way I finally turned my life over into patient parenting. You will not believe the transformation I have seen in my kiddos, but most importantly in myself. You’re here to learn how to patient parent, love your kids more, poor into them and learn what God has to say over raising king them kids, then you’re in the right place.
(17:16):
Scoop off those fruit snacks and grab your notebook and your lukewarm coffee, mama. It’s time to dig in. You know, something like that. I totally riff that. So you, guys, just hang with me, go with the flow. You get the point. So you’re gonna riff an intro and you’re gonna record that. And I teach you how to record in Podcast Pro University, super easy. We’re gonna add some background music, super easy as well.
(17:43):
And then I’m gonna have you actually record your exit, same thing, but it’s an exit. So it’s what we put at the end of the show. So, Hey, mama, I hope you love today’s episode. If it blessed you, you can come and hang out with us in the Calm Down Mama Facebook community, leave the show or review if it has helped you in some way, and God bless you, mama, because that is the hardest job on earth. Something like that.
(18:08):
And it’s got music behind it and that’s gonna be your exit. So by week two, you already have your five tier clarity brand map done. You have at least 30 podcast episodes roughly drafted out in MindMeister, which is just a free software. Then on week two, we’ve already set everything up in Podbean, we have art that we’ve outsourced and it’s being created and we’ve already recorded our intro and our exit to the show. Amazing.
(18:37):
Now we’re gonna move into week three. Week three, the only thing I’m gonna have you do is record and edit your first three episodes. And a lot of the questions that I get are what should my episodes be? What should my first three episodes be? Well, the first episode should be an introduction to this podcast.
(18:56):
What is The Calm Down Mama Podcast and what are the pillars? You can go through the different things you’re gonna be teaching on the show, why you created it. It’s kinda like a background, a backstory. So you can go through all of that on episode one, and then in episode two and three, what I would really recommend that you focus on is what is your person’s number one struggle? Or what do you think it is?
(19:18):
Cuz hey, maybe you’re brand new, you don’t have any super fans. You have no idea what people are actually struggling with. Start with what you think. So the first thing I think of when I think of patient parenting with our example is three reasons you’re always yelling at your kids and how to stop. Or my kids never listen, two secrets on how to get your kids to quit misbehaving.
(19:46):
Because your person probably thinks either she’s yelling too much or the kids never listen or the kids always fight or the kids… So take those pain points and create your first couple of episodes around that. That’s all you’re doing week three. And I did mention editing. I teach in my course how to edit super scrappy and quick. My goal is that you never edit longer than your podcast is.
(20:12):
So if you bust out a 15 minute episode, I want you editing in 15 minutes. That’s where we’re at with this thing. So I teach you how to do that in PPU or you can outsource your editing using Fiver. It’s usually about a dollar a minute. So then we’re gonna move to week four. This is it. We’re actually are gonna launch the podcast.
(20:33):
This is not rocket science, you guys, as far as making it harder than it needs to be, there are so many important tactical things that I’m gonna teach you inside the course that will help you like the tech and the setup and the recording and the editing and the SEO and the metadata and the title hacking and like stuff like that. But like the actual execution of this whole thing, I truly believe that you could have a podcast 30 days from now.
(20:59):
I truly believe that with all of my heart. So in week four, we’re gonna focus on launch and promo. So all you’re doing is you’re going to upload those episodes that you’ve finished recording and editing. You’ve popped in the intro and the exits, everything is set up in Podbean. You’ve gotten your channel art back. That’s uploaded into Podbean, which is the host.
(21:22):
And now in week four, all we’re gonna do is we’re gonna promote for an entire week. And then we’re gonna launch, this is easy. I have an entire promotion plan for you inside of Podcast Pro, but in essence, the goal is to get as many written reviews as possible. There’s lots of other cool stuff I teach you in there about how to launch well and why we care about launching and why we care about ranking.
(21:45):
But we just want as many people to know about this as humanly possible, and then you’re gonna do it. You’re gonna actually click publish. You’re gonna publish your first three episodes and you’re gonna go and you’re gonna launch, and you’re gonna have all the people on your launch list, leave you a review and share it for you.
(22:03):
And you’re done and you’re literally done. And the hardest part is over. Now you just lean into consistency and you marry the concept of being a podcaster for at least at least a full year. I made a commitment to myself and to God that I would show up for this podcast that he asked me to do for one full year before I gave up on it or before I pivoted or before I did anything, I said, you know what? I’m here for this.
(22:33):
I will definitely commit. And within a year I had already seen such traction. I mean, exponential growth in my community, in my revenue, all the things. So it was like, I would never stop podcasting after a year. Holy smokes. And I mean, look at it now, guys. So that’s it. That’s all you’re gonna do. And that’s four weeks. So you’re probably sitting at one of two spots right now.
(23:01):
Spot one is you’re like this all sounds good. And maybe I’m buying in, but I’m still unsure on what my podcast would be about, I’m not even sure if I should do it. I’m not sure if I have clarity yet. I actually have a podcast quiz. And that is at startapodcastquiz.com. And that’s gonna help you know, number one, do you even have the clarity?
(23:29):
Because if you don’t, I don’t want you to start a podcast yet. Please do not skip having absolute clarity on your five tier brand map that is Clarify Your Calling. So step one is clarifyyourcallingcourse.com and then you can come and say, should I start a podcast? And I have that quiz that can totally help you get some clarity. It has a series of questions to take you through.
(23:53):
And no, not every answer says yes that you should start a podcast because I believe that there’s a time, a place and a positioning for you to do well as a podcaster. And it depends on the questions I ask you in the quiz. So please go take that quiz.
(24:07):
Now on the other spectrum, half of you were like, I’m so ready, I’m ready for this. I think I’m gonna do it. Now is my time. I think, you know, no time like the present, I believe I have clarity. I’m pretty sure you’re 80% there then yeah, like let’s do this. So those of you that are sitting in that seat go to podcastprouniversity.com, check out my course, this course is so thorough. It’s so detailed. It takes you step by step.
(24:40):
There is not one thing that you will have to go Google, it’s in the course from planning to recording, to editing, to if you wanted to outsource it’s all in there, who you can work with, how to do each step from titling an episode to what would I actually talk about, to how do I get people to listen to this show, how do I promote, how do I share my stuff on a blog or on Pinterest or on social media?
(25:09):
All of that is inside of the course. It is 12 complete modules. And I do believe that you can get through it in 30 days. I absolutely do. And like I mentioned, I have over 560 people who have successfully launched shows at this point, which is just so surreal. It’s like what the what? So crazy.
(25:33):
Anyway, and I will let you know. I don’t know when you’re listening to this episode, so I’m just gonna go out there on a limb and let you know if you’re listening to this episode before January 1st, 2022, you are still getting the 2021 pricing of the course. It is going up January 1st. So yeah, three days for that. If you’re listening to this after that, sorry, not sorry, because this thing is worth well over $1,500 and you’re still getting it for a huge steal. The price point on this course is absolutely incredible.
(26:11):
And there’s a payment plan. So no matter where you’re at, you can figure this out. Where there’s God’s will, there’s a way, I believe it. And I believe you can save on eating out a few times to do this right. You can sell some stuff on Craig’s list. You could babysit, whatever you have to do to make this a reality in your life because podcasting is the way that we grow.
(26:38):
Yes, we, because I know your business, I know who you are because I was you without having to be on social 24/7. The algorithm will never let you win. It is a game that is already rigged against you. Video is super exhausting. It’s a slow grow. And quite frankly, people that are showing up to watch a video on a YouTube are probably just looking for a tutorial.
(27:06):
Somebody that’s showing up to watch videos on social media. They’re not in a posture of learning. They’re on social media, for crying out loud. But someone who’s listening to a podcast while they run or work out or do laundry or clean or take their kids to school, like they’re in a position of learning and they’re ready for some type of transformation. And when they hear you and they know that you are their person, that’s the moment when everything changes for them.
(27:32):
And in turn, when everything changes for you. So podcasting is the answer. It is the way that we grow a scalable evergreen organic business from behind a mic. It’s how you bring leads into you that knock on your door. Not the other way around every single day forever. It’s the best thing ever. I’m not saying it’s easy or everyone would do it, but I’m saying it’s simple.
(28:00):
And I am saying that if you commit to it can work for you and that I can teach you everything I know. Guys, we passed a half a million downloads this last year, you know, we’ll be over a million this year. I can hand all of my secrets to you. If you just trust me, if you trust me to be your coach and your mentor through this process. And that is at podcastprouniversity.com. Let’s do this.
(28:29):
Now, on the next episode, we are doing Blow Up Your Biz Two, step two. After you have your podcast launched, which is step one, we’re gonna go into the next thing. Obviously, you’re not doing all these things this week, but you’re gonna learn what you’re gonna do, which is so fun. And we’re gonna do how to explode a Facebook group, how we grew our community to over 7,000 members and exploded our engagement.
(28:51):
And then the next final episode in The Blow Up Your Biz series is how to sell with soul, five ways to transfer belief and blow up your profits. So again, be sure you’re subscribed. You’re not gonna wanna miss this. And I’m gonna meet you back here real soon. And we can continue this conversation. May God bless you, may He keep you safe, may He shine His light upon you and be gracious to you, sister. God bless.
