What Are You AFFIRMING? I Am vs. God Says Statements!

Hey sis!

Today we are talking about how to integrate goals, visions, and affirmations for your life with what God wants for you life. How to make sure you aren’t operating in New Age or the world’s way and staying on the path God has for you. We deep dive into I AM statements vs. God Says Statements!

Can you use ‘I AM’ statements and stay biblical? Should you use visualizations? How to make sure that the things you are AFFIRMING are from God.

This one is juicy! Buckle up. Let’s get it.

Hey beauties. So full disclosure, I just got off a spiritual training calls, spirit, my spiritual growth mentor. So I’m like on some type of fire right now. Plus just get out of the DMS with my girl who was asking me stuff like, how do I use affirmations or visualizations without it being new age? Or can I do affirmations and visualizations, but have them still be biblical? Like how do I partner with God in goal setting?

Like these goals that I want to say and do daily in my life in business, but be mindful of that. Like she was afraid of doing it the wrong way. And I’ll explain maybe why she was afraid of that. For those of you like what’s wrong with affirmations. Let’s talk about that. And so that’s what today is all about. I know y’all are gonna love it. This is a juicy topic. Sit back and judge.

First of all, what is, what are affirmations in the new age? And those of you that are like, what is the new age? I had someone asked me that recently. So without getting too crazy affirmations new age are basically like I am a millionaire. I am manifesting the a six figure client base. You know, I am manifesting a vacation house in Hawaii. Like they are things that you are wanting in your life and you are putting out an I am I get, I deserve, I am manifesting.

(05:53):

I am calling it in statement to create a vision of that thing in your life that you can then go achieve. And then universe typically, or God will provide you through that manifest station. That item a few things wrong with that. In my opinion, number one, we are not equipped to do anything on our own. We’re only equipped through Jesus Christ, right? Only equipped when partnered with God in a vision that God plants in our lives, in our hearts, in our minds. Now.

(06:30):

So often when we start to do I am statements and visualizations like that, that are, that are created from self. They’re not blessed by God. They’re just you going, I have a goal. It’s a tangible thing that I want. And the only, the only problem with that is when you’re not partnered with God and the things that he wants for your life, you are going from a place of ego and centeredness.

(06:58):

And then typically that can partner with worldly stuff to help you get there. It can, it can lead you astray from God’s path for your life. Also when you operate in your own power that never leads to goodness. You know, we have to constantly partner with the Lord and what he wants, you know, Psalms 27 one, the Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear the Lord is the stronghold of my life life.

(07:26):

Which means my dreams, my visions, my affirmations for myself, they’re all God filtered. And when they are not God filtered, you have to wonder what, what what’s behind you achieving that thing. Is it the world? Is it quick? Fix is a distraction. Is it the wrong people? Is it the wrong mode? Motives? Why? Why are you saying the things you’re saying? So that’s kind of what it is.

Lots of different degrees to that, right? So people are true manifestors and they believe in the power of manifestation. People who tiptoe and think that you can be both. I can have, I am statements and it not be not God-centered. And then there’ll be who were like, heck no, staying super far away from manifestation, visualization. Anything of that nature, it’s evil, dark, demonic, et cetera.

(08:25):

So there’s, there’s lots of different levels. In my opinion, based on the Bible, there is no in-between it’s God’s way or no way. Isaiah 55 eight for my thoughts are not yours. Your thoughts, neither are my ways. Neither are your ways. My ways declares the Lord Proverbs three, five trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not lean on your own. So if this is, this is the case, then how do we create goals? How do we create visions in our life?

(09:02):

And what should we do if we have been using manifestation or any type of worldly, self centered quote, unquote, right? Goals and goal setting and affirmations in our life. And I think the first thing is to just recognize, Oh gosh, that’s definitely, certainly, maybe not what I’ve been wanting to. And I, and I’ve been there. I had sheets of paper. You guys on the walls, on the mirror.

(09:28):

I am, you know, I am a six-figure earner. I’m calling in $200,000. I am this, I am that I am blah, blah, blah. None of which I took to God first. Okay. And they were all, I thought I would achieve these things, myself, my hard work, my hustle, my showing up universal provide, okay, now I didn’t do it knowingly. I didn’t, I didn’t do that to depart from the way that God had for me.

(10:00):

It was a trick. Yeah. And I fell victim to it because it’s a very, very normalized. Lots of people are talking about it. It’s very trendy. But when I put it through a God filter and what, what scripture and the word of God says, I can do nothing on my own. I can only operate at my highest potential when I’m doing good works for God. Right. For the glory of God.

(10:30):

When that came to, to pass repentance for what I did not know, it’s all gravy and God has such, such an amazing fathers, sweet father. So forgiving, loving guides us straight back to the path that he’s always had for us. Now. Now I don’t, I don’t believe that you can’t have it visions for your life. I have a vision board, a little vision board sitting right here. You’re in front of me.

(10:53):

I have something that I call God says statements that I do in my life every single week time with God, I visualize, I know numbers that I do strive for when I launched my program. So how do I do that without having it, he maybe new age-based or, or leaning on myself, my own strength. The first thing is you have to take every single thing, every goal, every vision for your life to God first.

(11:24):

So father, God, what do you want for my life this year? Show me reveal to me. Give me the words, the scripts planted in my heart. Let Holy you spirit take the pen right now and just journal over what he has in store for you. God wants us to experience heaven on earth. God wants it wants you to live in favor and fruitfulness and provision and to be at a peacefulness.

(11:47):

He wants you to have a successful business because your business, if you’re called to business can be a ministry. Your business can be an impact to others, can help other people wants you to do it, partnered with him. What do you beautiful, incredible way to sacrifice to surrender is to say your way, sweet father. And when we ask, ask, we will what receive we will receive.

(12:15):

And so right here Philippians two 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to work for his good pleasure. So when I, you pray to God and he gives me some direction, for example, Oh God, how am I going to keep serving these women, giving them clarity? Like I can’t coach at this capacity anymore. And he gave me the answer of, of creating, clarify your calling, which is the course. And I’m like, how is that going to work?

(12:44):

And he gave me the curriculum one morning, just boom. He gave me the words when I was doing the coaching sessions. He helped me through the power yeah. Coaching. And he, he gave me the strength. So I knew when that was a big picture, your goal that God planted in my heart, I could back into that goal with specific tangible things, for example what would this look like?

(13:10):

How many weeks would it be? God, what, how many women do you want in this program with me? And also what amount of money would you like me to steward this year? God will give me that semblance, that, that goal, that direction. And maybe it’s not a direct answer for you guys. Like maybe he doesn’t speak out, you like $50,000, but you know, in your heart that if you were sitting at blank amount, you’d be okay.

(13:37):

Able to have a more fruitful life. You guys could tie that a certain number, your spouse would stop taking overtime. Well, that’s a beautiful number to shoot for, ask God to bless that number, to surrender that number to him. And then two, to return it back to you with clarity, to give you fresh eyes over your goals. And when he gives it back to you, when you feel that blessing or it put it on the vision board, wonderful. Right.

(14:02):

I always add like, God, if it’s your will for me, like, if it’s your will for me to, to serve these women and however many women father that you have for me and clarify your calling I’m so here for that, like whatever that number might be. And I had heard, I had heard 20, so I wrote it down and see like, you know, if, if you were worldly operating from this worldly perspective, I probably would have been like sows and women calling it a thousand women.

(14:26):

But like I heard 20 and I’m like, so sweet. This is great. Well, day one I had or day two or three, even I had seven. Yeah. And I’m like awesome. Because attached to anything. Okay. I’m not an, I am statement. I’m not a number. Okay. I’m not a goal. I am an ebb and flow of God’s will. And so when God spoke to me 20, I’m like, well, maybe he meant like 20 something else. You know?

(14:50):

Like maybe he meant they’ll have 20 days to figure it out. Like, I don’t know. And so we have the seven I’m like great. So excited for the seven that God had had sent me. Anyways, I kid you guys not by the end. And here’s what I would pray. So for example, when thinking about like, well, how do you like, what’s the goal? How do you visualize it?

(15:09):

How do you speak over it? It was, you know sweet father Abba helped me to speak to the women who need this program. Like give me the words, Holy spirit direction planted in their hearts. The trust that I’m the right mentor for them, like lead me to exactly the woman that needs me the most right now give her the clarity that this is a yes for her open her eyes to the yes planted in her heart to trust me.

(15:34):

Then I pray that you work through me to deliver her, the clarity, the confidence, the gifts that you have given me to, to just steward those and just hand them to her father. And I trust you. And however many women I’m here for that. Like I trust you completely. I surrender this program to you. It’s yours. I’m so grateful for anything and everything that you want to do through this program.

(15:53):

I pray that you would anoint this program for me, that you would put your hand upon it and bless it in your favor, in your provision, in your fruitfulness and just transform the women that you bring to me through this program. Amen. Yes. Let it be right in the name of Jesus and kind of declare that, that God would be in partnership with me over the thing. Like that’s the type of affirming if you want to call it that, that I do.

(16:21):

And thank you to my friend for bringing that up. That the question is not, how are you saying affirmations? It’s what are you affirming in your life? Are you affirming a random thing, a random number, a random tactical thing, or are you affirming a position, a heavenly position that you’ve been called to a, a specific heart heartfelt deliverance statement that, that God has gifted you.

(16:48):

Right? Cause you know, if you operate doing this thing that God’s called you to do, then blink, blink, blink happens. And here’s the thing like, God doesn’t want you to play small. He wants you to step up into per his will for your life. Right? So step into his purpose for you. Those are the things you’re affirming. Those are the things. So the second question that came up was okay, great. But then how do I have like specific statements or goals?

(17:11):

Like actual sticky tactical goals. Oh, and to come back to my story. Oh my gosh. The end of the day, the end of the last day that we’re closing out, clarify your calling. We had 21 women. Thank you, father. The woman ended up not being able to do it for whatever reason, closed the doors with 20 on the dot. Exactly. And my, my team, they were like, Oh my gosh, Stef, you said seven.

(17:34):

Or you said 20, this is crazy. I’m like, I did not say 20. God said 20. And that’s amazing. And he knows here’s the thing, sisters. He knows what is right. True. Real and what you are ready for at any given time. So are we to dictate what those numbers are? Okay. Now I may have an idea that he plants in my heart and I’m like, cool, but I’m not tied to it. Okay.

(17:59):

I’m not, I’m not, I’m calling that number in, I am welcoming, whatever number God says yes to. So I’m here for the yes. As my spiritual mentor said to me this morning, I’m here for the yes. Yes. I accept it. I’m here for it. Whatever God has for me. I’m yes. But it’s his will. So back to the second question. So then how do you have a tactical sticky goal

(18:23):

Number in the sky and like doing it the wrong way or, or partnering or, or walking into the new age? Because there is a line there. I believe the line is black and white, but I do see how sometimes that may be, can feel confusing as you’re trying to decipher God’s way versus the world’s way. I can see how that could be confusing. So these are the types of statements that I say again, what are you affirming?

(18:50):

So I, God gave me this vision of God state. God says statements as I was training in the first module of clarify your calling. Now God says, statement is not what you say about yourself. It’s not what the world says about you. It’s not universe. It is because God created the universe. Okay? The universe is from God, just like money is from God. Those things have no power.

(19:17):

God has all the power. The only power comes from God and the Trinity. And so, in my opinion, if I want to say an affirmation over my life, I’m going to say what God says about me. Can I get an amen? Right? So for example, God says, I am a Waymaker God says I am a kingdom. I am a kingdom business changer. God says, I have a voice for the women that need me the most. God says that I have clarity for these women.

(19:49):

And he will work through me to deliver it by the power of Jesus. Yes, I receive it. I accept it. God says that I am appointed anointed. God says that I am a great empowered mother. God says that I have the qualities of the Proverbs 31 woman, and I can rise up to be her and do his works.

God says that I operate for his glory every single day. God says that I am strong and beautiful and worthy. And enough God says, I am a good wife. God says that I am loved. God said,

(20:18):

He says, he says it. What are you affirming,

(20:26):

Father? I lift these women up right now. Thank you. Holy spirit for this message. I pray over these women

(20:31):

That they would just lay down all of them,

(20:37):

Things that are not from you, including the words that they have been speaking. They lay that down and that we are washed and forgiven for things that we did not know could not be in alignment with you. We pray that you put us directly on our path that has partnered with you, father, that you give us the words, the courage that you speak. Only you speak affirmations over our lives and you use Holy spirit to deliver them through our mouths.

(21:10):

I pray that we filter through you, the goals, dreams, visions, and aspirations that you have for us, because your plans are bigger than my plans. And when you plant your plans in my heart, I can walk with fearless audacity. Knowing that you asked me to say, yes, I am here for the, yes. These women are here for the yes, father. We raise up.

(21:29):

We surrender to the yes, your yes. We pray that you would just carve the path for us and give us the direction. And the discernment give us eyes to see and ears to hear only from you close the doors that are not meant for us. Close the doors that are not directly Holy and appointed for us.

We trust you. We love you. We are grateful for you. Thank you for constantly taking care of us, stewarding us, loving us with all that you are and all that. We are not in Jesus name. Amen, love and light. Stef.
