The POWER and POTENTIAL of the ASK Catapulted My Success!

Hey sis!

This ONE thing has catapulted the success of my business. It has opened doors for me in ways I only once dreamed of. Created relationships with millionaires, gotten me on top podcasts, secured speaking engagements, and driven my revenue to new heights.

No. It wasn’t hustling harder (sorry Grant).

No. It wasn’t figuring out how to do IG reels and tic-toc videos (I literally don’t even know if I’m spelling that right????)

No. It wasn’t launching a tiny-offer with a FB ad funnel. (ew)

No. It wasn’t a deep dive into the social media algorithms.

It was actually something that looking back, was so easy. So simple. So stress-free.

The secret to my biggest, most transformational (and successful) year in my life was…

Asking.

Seriously. That simple, friend.

I asked for the interviews. I asked for the stages. I asked for the friendships. I asked for the business. I asked over and over again. I got a few no’s, sure. But I got MORE YES’S.

I believe that God works for our growth when we are aligned with HIS CALL over our lives. When we stop doing life and business the world’s way. That when we stop trying to control every dollar, choice, and strategy, GOD MOVES. When we TRUST him, he positions us for the ask. He creates opportunities, clients, ideas…  and then He waits and watches.

Like the loving father He is, he is waiting for us to spiritually mature. To step into FAITH instead of pretending we have it. To stop being ‘stuck’ in our worldly mess of excuses and self-perceived shortcomings. He has paved the way. All we have to do is lace up and step up. We can win with God as our coach. It’s TIME.

Hey friends! Today, I’m going to talk to you about the power and potential of the ask A S K and I’m super excited to kind of walk you guys through something that I just now realized was crazy life altering, and so super powerful in why I’ve had the biggest and best year of my entire career. And it’s just the most simple thing ever. But it’s also, I think one of the most terrifying. Let’s do this.

Before we dig into the power and potential of the ask, I want you guys to know that I am doing a completely free workshop over in the Facebook group on November 17th, which is a Tuesday. Let’s talk about the power and potential of the ask. I was sitting here recently in one of my Podcast to Profit mastermind groups, talking to the girls about podcast pitching and how I’ve been able to secure shows that have, you know, gosh, 10 million, 15 million, 40 million downloads. Me, how I’ve been on Cathy Heller’s podcast, not once, but twice, how I’ve been on Angie Lee’s podcast, not once, but actually three different episodes.

How did I get affiliates who are huge in this industry to market? My course, and they’ve since brought in over five figures of revenue, how am I able to get on speaking engagements? Like the Dreamer Summit, which is coming up, how am I getting all of this? How is this happening for me in my life?

(03:58):

And I’m about to tell you something so groundbreaking that I hope you write it down. You ready? Get your pen? Here we go. A S K ask. I asked, I asked for it. I asked for all of it. Oh my goodness. I was like, how did I do this? What did I do this year? What was different from last year to this year, I asked, I stopped letting fear stop me from asking. Example, let’s talk about the event I’m going to be speaking at.

I connected with Polly, from Horacio Printing. I literally love her products. She has this incredible brand. You, guys, have heard her on the show, or you’re going to hear her on the show. I think her interview hasn’t aired yet, but I knew she was doing this event. And I knew I could add value to her event. And I said, what if she doesn’t really know who I am.

So let me introduce myself, let me get in her DMS. Let me talk to her about why I love her products. I actually ended up connecting with her because I bought the Bible studies as a gift for my last round of mastermind students. And we started to have this conversation in the DMS over a couple of months. And then I knew that her event was coming up.

(05:27):

And I just said, Hey girl, I don’t know if you’re still looking for speakers, but I would love to come be a speaker at the Dreamer Summit. And I think I could add a ton of value by talking about how to lead a God led business, how to hear from God and your choices in your business as an entrepreneur inside of your profession. I talk a lot about doing it God’s way instead of the world’s way by hustling harder and all of those concepts and really doing it from a service led perspective.

I don’t know if this fits in to what you’re thinking, but I just wanted to put that out there. She replies back and she’s like, Oh my gosh, that sounds phenomenal. Let’s do, let’s discuss. And one thing led to another and here I am, I’m going to be speaking in one of the breakout sessions of the event, specifically on PR your profession and how to grow in your profession with God leading the way or being a God led business owner.

So hello, what? I wouldn’t have had that opportunity if I didn’t ask. That one ask has led to massive potential. What else does that ask do? It creates credibility for me with the other speakers. Most of which are bigger than me. It creates a ripple of new people, a new niche, a new market of people who are specifically my demographic, right?

(06:54):

Christian fueled planners who are using Polly’s products are totally people who are mompreneur mastermind material. They’re the women who are going to come over here and listen to this show, so it’s a ripple. One ask, I could have talked myself out of it. I could’ve gotten a full of fear and gotten Ah, I don’t know what if she already has somebody… but so what? What’s the worst that could have happened? She said, no. Well, it didn’t stop there.

(07:23):

I thought of one of my clients who would be perfect for this event. And I said, Hey, you need to ask if there’s potential for you to be a speaker at this event. Because I literally knew that the one thing that my client did would be a perfect fit for the Dreamer Summit. And she’s like, I don’t know. I don’t think I’m going to do it.

(07:42):

I’m like just ask, what’s the worst that can happen? And I gave her some verbiage of how maybe she could present it. And she asked and guess what happened? She got a yes. So not only did my ask, get me a yes, but me promoting my client to ask got her a yes which is a massive ripple effect of potential in both of our careers. Can I get an amen? That is incredible. Here’s the thing. I feel that God creates connections for us.

(08:10):

He opens the door and then he says, Daughter, go and 99% of you are not going. You’re not leaping. Making the ask. You’re not trying, you’re not pushing through. Why? When I think back a couple of years ago, it was because, I was afraid. Are they going to say yes to me? Who am I? Could I really do this?

(08:39):

The fear of actually doing the speaking engagement, the fear of actually showing up on the podcast, the fear of whatever of judgment, it’s the fear of just not being accepted. That’s the one major difference. That’s catapulted me this year. Here’s a couple more examples. I got a pitch from Cathy Heller for her to come be on my podcast. And instead of just being like, yes, you know, fan girling, I said, well, we’re open to it if I can come be a guest on your show as well.

(09:17):

Here’s what I can present. I can talk about how to uncover your calling, how to get clarity in what you’re meant to do. I don’t see that you have an episode on that. And it was a yes. So if God opened that door for me, why wouldn’t I ask? Why wouldn’t I take it?

(09:32):

And I’ve seen time and time again, how God is lining things up for me to continue to further my purpose and to continue to grow and to continue to be challenged in new and exciting ways. And I will not allow my fear. I will not allow worldly fears and the enemy’s whispers to keep me from pursuing the godly potential and the doors that he is opening for me because I’m afraid to ask.

(10:03):

So how have I done things that I’ve only dreamed of doing this year? It’s because I allowed God to lead me. I allowed my prayers to get audacious. I allowed myself to let go and to surrender to God’s bigger vision for myself, His bigger vision for my life. And then I prayed for it. God, show me, I’m here for it. I’ve got excited. Expectation, surprise me, father.

And when He did it and He created the relationship or He gave me the idea, or He spoke to me through scripture or whatever it was. And I had a concept like, Ooh, an idea, Oh, I should reach out to her about being an affiliate or, Oh, I wonder if I could be part of that event or that mastermind or, Oh wow, I wonder if they would have me on their podcast instead of leaving it there as an I wonder I took it to the next level by taking massive action.

(11:03):

And I asked, and I got, I think nine out of 10 yeses this year, nine out of 10 yeses. So here’s the takeaway for you, sister? What do you think God is prompting you to move on? What do you think? Is it right in front of you with within arms reach that you’re talking yourself out of? What is the thing that’s on your heart? What is the relationship that you wish you had?

(11:37):

Who is the person that you look up to or the podcast you wish that you could be on or the YouTube channel or the podcast you wish you could launch or the speaking engagement or the book that you should write? What is the opportunity that’s within your grasp that you are telling yourself, you are not qualified for? You are not equipped for you are not worthy of, you’re not enough. Who are you to do it?

(12:05):

Because let me tell you those are lies and they are not for you. We all serve a God who is so gloriously giving. He is so selfless and He wants us to succeed. He wants us to continue to pursue the mission He has gifted us with, but we’ve got to ask, we’ve got to take action. We’ve got to move our feet. We’ve got to rebuke the fear and we’ve got to push through when it doesn’t really make sense when we’re not sure of the yes.

(12:41):

On the other side of uncertainty, on the other side of fear, on the other side of that ask is your greatest potential and your biggest breakthrough. Number one, write down. What do you want to do? What do you want for your life? What are the things that you see in your future that maybe feel untouchable, write them down.

(13:07):

Number two. What of those things can you control and take action on right now? Three, two, one go. Don’t you wait on your dream. Don’t you wait on God’s connections. Don’t you wait on what God is putting on your heart. Go. And number three, what is out of your control that you can pray for and ask for, with excited anticipation, because let me tell you something.

(13:35):

It feels like a long time ago, when eight years ago, I had dreams of being a public speaker, of making an impact of leading hundreds of thousands of women. That was a big audacious dream that I never really knew would come true, but I’ve wanted it and I’ve prayed for it. And I’ve asked for it. But when I really got out of my own way and I did it God’s way, and I let God create those opportunities for me.

(14:07):

And I just showed up with my full self, ready and willing to serve. He did it bigger, better, more audaciously than I could have done it on my own. And I know He has that for you. You are so worthy of all of this, of all of your dreams of doing big, amazing things. So sister, it’s time to do it.Take action. And most importantly, it’s time to ask.

(14:43):

Let’s pray. Father, I lift up every single person listening to this episode right here, right now. I pray that you just pour into them. Holy spirit from head to toe, let it overflow. Holy spirit chills. Give them the audacious confidence to begin, to go, to begin to leap, give them the words when they want to ask, but they are afraid. And I pray that you break the strongholds of fear that have kept them stuck for far too long.

I pray that you work through them and show them that your confidence, your courageousness is more powerful and more truthful than the world’s lies. And that one ounce of you inside of them can create more impact, more success, more favor, more provision in their lives, more fruitfulness, more peace, more rest than they ever knew possible. I pray that they just trust in you in a new way today that they surrender to your plan over their lives, because we know that you have got it all figured out and that your plans are bigger, better, more beautiful.
