So anyways, let’s dig into today’s show. God bless you. And I pray that you have a blessed Thanksgiving.
(03:48):
So, I’ve read your stuff and I’m pretty excited about it, but just talk me through, where are you at? What’s the vision of your show and then kind of what you’d love my guidance on?
(03:57):
So I have been in network marketing for five years with the health and fitness company and with Beach Body. I love the programs, their products. I started before I became a mom and I was like an iron man triathlons, very fit. And then when I had my first, I got preeclampsia and gained 90 pounds. So obviously the programs and products helped me lose 80 of those pounds in a year, have a healthy, uncomplicated second pregnancy.
(04:25):
I still gained 60 pounds in that pregnancy. So my business, the past like year and a half has mostly been built on clients. I did build the top, maybe 1% hit the highest tier in the company, but I felt my team decently and have passive income from it. But I’m just not passionate about building the team aspect anymore. I love the clientele. I love helping people with the products and stuff and moms, especially, cause obviously I’ve had quite the journey.
(04:52):
So I’ve built quite a platform on Instagram, which now it’s fine cause it’s helping business and my income. But I actually was looking through my notes on my phone and I had a podcast on my heart evidently since 2019.
(05:05):
Wow.
(05:06):
I thought it was just last year, but evidently not. So the Lord definitely made me wait on purpose, which is good. But in March he gave me the phrase, the tough love mom. I was like, okay, what do I do with this? I don’t know, but I cannot shake it.
(05:22):
And I’ve built, like I said, I’ve built quite an Instagram following, mostly talking about pregnancy weight gain, postpartum weight loss. So that’s definitely something I focus on. Obviously something I can help people with. I have helped people with and have a lot of, I mean, I’ve breastfed the whole time too. So that’s something I tell to a lot is like maintaining your supply.
(05:40):
I don’t have any expertise or certification behind my name, any of those aspects, but people trust me with my experience. So that’s a big pillar, definitely that I know is part of my brand. But I also feel like the consistency aspect and time management and ability to create routine and just consistency and like the mindset around consistency is really what the tough love mom is all about and what I want my podcast to focus in on.
(06:05):
I know my avatar really well. She feels very overwhelmed. She doesn’t feel like she has time and that she can manage her time on like the day gets the best of her instead of her feeling like she owns her day and oh, I wrote it all out basically, but the unpredictability of kids and their schedules just throws her off and so she like self sabotages and she knows she does.
(06:28):
And she knows what she wants her life to look like with her habits and her routines. But she just can’t seem to figure out how to make that happen. And in her past, like before kids, she was active and healthy and able to manage all that. But kids have just like thrown her for a loop and she doesn’t know how to manage everything.
(06:44):
She doesn’t know how to create these habits and feel okay with how her body looks and she wants to lose weight. Like I’m not scared to talk about postpartum weight loss because the people that come to me like want that, I know some people are like touchy about talking about that, but I’m not. That’s where she’s at.
(06:59):
I really feel lost on my pillars. I’m not quite sure exactly which ones they are. I know post postpartum health in general, like fitness, nutrition and weight loss. I feel like are really under that. And I’m not quite sure what the other two or three are. Perfectionism is something that my avatar struggles a lot with too, big time. I’m a major recovering perfectionist.
(07:22):
What’s happening with the faith.
(07:24):
So I don’t personally feel comfortable having the responsibility of preaching to people. I mentioned it here and there and I definitely lead my life and my obviously business ethics with my relationship with the Lord and let Him guide it all. But I don’t feel like I don’t want to exclude people that don’t believe and keep them from me being able to help them.
(07:49):
I definitely weave it into my messaging, but it’s not like a pillar of my brand, I guess. I’ll talk about it. And I’ll mention stuff like people get my DMS and they’re like, I just love how you bring up this about Jesus and this about God and directing your path but you do it in such a wholesome, like non-confrontational way. So that’s kind of how I do it. Cause I don’t want to put people off.
(08:09):
That’s perfect. I was wondering where that fit in. So I always call that a foundation instead of a pillar. I love this so much. So first of all, let’s just go in order of the five brand pillars or the five pieces of your brand map. The title done, I was like, I love this so much and you got it from God. We’re not touching that. That’s the thing. I love it a hundred percent.
(08:33):
The second thing I want to talk about the avatar a little bit, because I want to know if they’re always dealing with post-pregnancy weight. This could be up to two years. You know, it doesn’t have to be an immediate, we just had a baby, but that’s a question I have because I think that will help us get clarity on your niche a little bit more.
(08:51):
It’s definitely within the first few years, my oldest is three and my youngest is one. So I feel like I just came out of that stage with my youngest. So definitely the first few years as a mom, because some moms don’t really start their journey until they’re down the road a little bit further.
(09:06):
So funny too, because I have two boys and I gained 60 and then I think 55 with bulk of mine. So I’m like, I still feel this, oh my gosh, that was awful.
(09:18):
But no one talks about it. I’m so glad you say how much you gained. Cause I’m like going crazy over here. I mean, it’s not healthy sometimes for some people, not the greatest habits, but I was like working out full time and eating well. And I was like, what’s my body doing?
(09:33):
I was like where the cheeseburger at? Which in and of itself is something you can talk to them about. Why are you making the choices you’re making? And those have deeper roots that help them to become more disciplined. Really good. So they’re moms, they’re married? Yes.
(09:49):
Oh yeah. Married,
(09:51):
Married, moms, so they are probably somewhere between what? 27 and 37?
(09:55):
I think my Morgan, she’s my avatar, she’s 28, so right on point.
(10:01):
Is she working?
(10:02):
No, she stays home.
(10:05):
So right there, we have another niche to add into your TSO. I have stay at home moms.
(10:11):
I was kind of scared to niche all the way into that because, but I guess if there’s a working mom, that’s still cause I can’t speak to routine and schedule working outside the home. I mean, I work inside the home.
(10:21):
How many stay-at-home moms are there on planet earth?
(10:24):
So many.
(10:25):
They have access to the internet, they want to get disciplined in loosing weight. I think that’s probably all like 90% of stay-at-home moms, probably, definitely in their first three years after having a baby, even if it’s 10 pounds, they’re still not feeling their best or they’re having that trouble figuring out how to make that fit in.
(10:42):
So don’t be afraid of the niche. So she’s home struggling with habit creation, wants to lose weight, that’s what she thinks her pain point is, used to be active and healthy. What other things is she Googling? Liz? What were you Googling and typing in when you were here I sit I’m 60 pounds overweight and ready to lose this. What were the answers and solutions that you were trying to find?
(11:06):
Body image and like how my body looked and felt to me was definitely something I was lost in. Honestly, for myself, I just dove right into the habits already knew and just started. I didn’t, I kind of like blinders on and just started doing. That’s how I handle situations like this.
(11:25):
And I feel like a lot of moms don’t. So it’s kind of that mindset aspect of, instead of looking around for all the answers, I’m just going to like zone in on what I know how to do and do it. And that’s honestly what I did my first year losing those 80 pounds, so.
(11:40):
What do you think she’s Googling though? Cause she’s not Liz. She might be a little Liz, but at the same time, like when I was sitting in that spot and I’m a very go getter as well and like, I’m going to set my mind to something, and I’m going to do it, but I was still looking up like free health plans and lose weight. And I was looking up diets still. Like now I’ve moved past all of that, thank goodness. But like at that time you were looking for a quick fix.
(12:05):
Definitely postpartum workouts, trimester workouts, breastfeeding nutrition, breastfeeding meal plans. How to get sleep, how to find time with the baby? How long should a baby be sleeping? Which I don’t know those answers, but, …
(12:20):
But the great news is if you want it to have experts on that help this woman, anything that helps Morgan with discipline and losing weight is a yes. So even if it’s something a little 20% of the time is the go rogue, you’re go rogue like freedom path. It’s like, Hey, two out of 10 episodes you’d have a sleep expert on, you could have a nursing person cause it still matters to Morgan. This really helps out. So let’s move to the, I help statement.
(12:45):
I’m lost on this and tagline and obviously I want your holy spirit description inspiration today.
(12:57):
Right now you have, I help stay at home moms, I added that, get disciplined and lose weight. I mean, I still love this. What they want to hear is lose weight.
(13:08):
I know. Yeah. So I have to put that.
(13:10):
The how is this get disciplined, which goes directly with the tough love mom branding. So I feel like those really speak to each other. Cool.
(13:20):
I also got from God just this past week, consistency coach and weight loss mentor and routine queen.
(13:30):
Oh my gosh. I have to write those down, please hold.
(13:32):
Also I’ve got them written down. Don’t worry.
(13:35):
So your tagline actually becomes get disciplined and lose weight for stay at home moms. So there’s your podcast tag. I love that. So I’m down with that. And then we’re going to move, stay at home moms to your keywords. You’re in PPU, right?
(13:53):
Yup.
(13:54):
Okay. Great. Stay at home moms, postpartum, weight loss,
(13:59):
Postpartum journey.
(14:00):
Lose weight after bay, I don’t know if they would type it after baby, maybe.
(14:05):
Yeah, definitely.
(14:06):
And then you said, are you doing workout stuff for now?
(14:10):
My network marketing company has the workouts.
(14:12):
Do we want that to be a pillar?
(14:15):
Yes. Fitness, like working out. Yeah. It’s not a full pillar by itself. I feel like that’s the thing is I’m still not sure about my pillars.
(14:25):
We’ll go to your pillars in just a sec. So this feels good. We’re done with that one, we’re done with the I help. Here’s some keywords to start with and the keywords, this is something you can always change. So start here, see what’s happening. Actually, these are not good keywords. Cause stay at home moms is nothing to do with this brand.
(14:45):
So we have to say, I think we have to cut these. It has to be a who where your niche is either the what or the who. Your niche is really this who – Stay at home mom and the what – lose weight postpartum actually it’s even more. It’s a postpartum stay-at-home mom. That’s what it is. Sorry. I’ll talk myself through that. So those are your keywords. Now, next to your name title, what were the ones that you heard that God gave you?
(15:14):
Consistency coach, weight loss mentor, and routine queen.
(15:20):
So fun. Done. Love those. Awesome. Let’s go pillars. So now when we’re looking at this promise and the promises, I promise to help you, stay at home postpartum woman, get disciplined and lose weight. I promise that. So we need three ways that we get her to that end result. The first one you mentioned was this postpartum health.
(15:48):
Like the tangibles that she knows, these are the things that she’s Googling and looking for. I feel like a lot of my podcast episodes are going to be 40 to 50% of this because that’s what they’re going to be searching so much of.
(16:01):
I’m just thinking if we want to break out fitness and nutrition, if it all goes into this one bubble, this one bucket, which would be postpartum health or is it postpartum weight loss. And that’s the pillar and solutions are fitness. That’s what it is.
(16:17):
Okay. I like that.
(16:19):
And that’s our promise.
(16:21):
Yeah. I had that written down, postpartum weight lost.
(16:27):
Love it. Okay. So this one is a yes. Well, the next one I think I know for sure is mindset, because you talked about this perfectionism, they’re in comparison right now, you said they’re looking around and trying to find everyone else’s solutions instead of their own. So all of that work is going to go in this mindset bubble.
(16:49):
Yeah. I like that. I don’t like the word mindset cause it’s so generic. Maybe that’s something that I use, but I also have thought life. Is mindset more searched though?
(17:03):
We won’t label these so much, Liz, anywhere. This is more for your like mind map that you’re going to build content underneath. But maybe we can put like instead of mindset, I don’t like that word either.
(17:16):
I cringed a little when I put it down to, I don’t know what else to call this.
(17:19):
Maybe it’s like, is it belief like rewiring of her beliefs, rewiring of her thoughts and beliefs. It’s a thought it’s more than thoughts though, because it’s your belief. It’s your brain wiring, it’s your, can we just do thoughts and beliefs?
(17:34):
Yeah. Thoughts and beliefs. I like beliefs.
(17:37):
And then I’ll put mindset in the content. This next one you had, you mentioned consistency and discipline and then you mentioned time management and I feel like all of this is one thing.
(17:53):
Okay. That’s what I was wondering. I feel like time management routine falls under consistency, but I wasn’t sure exactly. And I don’t have four pillars if I don’t have to.
(18:03):
I think consistency and discipline is a how we get to habits, routines. I think time management is a way we stick to habits, routines.
(18:14):
Definitely. And falling off is something I have written down too, that is part of that.
(18:21):
Love it. Our three pillars are postpartum weight loss, habits and routines, and thoughts and beliefs. And if you want to pare this down to one word for yourself, that’s fine. But you won’t really market these. We’ll talk about them when we do the description, but you’ll see how it all come together.
(18:40):
So those don’t go in my I help statement?
(18:43):
Nope. We’re not going to use those because this is so much more clear and this get disciplined is what these two things do.
(18:50):
Perfect. I love it. It helps so much.
(18:54):
We need it. We didn’t put in our I help is I help postpartum stay at home moms, get disciplined and lose weight. Feelings?
(19:02):
Perfect.
(19:03):
It’s all coming together. My brain literally felt in a million different places.
(19:08):
You’re so close, like 90% there. So good. So we have our pillars, the last thing we need a description. And then I thought if we had more time, we could talk about monetization for you.
(19:19):
Okay. I already have quite a few ideas.
(19:24):
So description. I need a little bit about Liz so I can really put this together. Tell me like, Hi, I’m Liz mom of two boys, I gained this and this and this. And then tell me that little spiel real quick.
(19:36):
I’m Liz. I gained 90 pounds after having preeclampsia with my first pregnancy. I lost those 80 pounds in a year and was able to have a second healthy pregnancy, totally uncomplicated and even with healthy habits, Another 60 pounds gained. Then I lost the 60 pounds and the extra 10 after 14 months postpartum like my post-partum journeys take a long time. They don’t happen fast either. That’s something I talk about a lot.
(20:03):
You said over the next 14 months?
(20:06):
Just over a year. I’m a military wife. I don’t, that’s not part of my brand really, but my husband’s gone a lot. So I do a lot of it by myself. I work from home. So I’m even though I’m home, I’m busy and nonstop.
(20:20):
And boys, you said, right?
(20:22):
Yes.
(20:22):
Okay. Any other like fun, funny, like quirky thing about you?
(20:27):
I put chicken nuggets on my salad. I have two planners, at least. Oh man. I have a couple other good ones, but the chicken nuggets on my salad, I’m like known for that.
(20:41):
That’s so fun. I’ve never done that, but it’s just like having fried chicken on your salad.
(20:49):
Exactlly, except your kids can eat them, kind of out any guilt.
(20:54):
And I’m going to say, are you a postpartum stay at home mom who is ready to finally get disciplined so you can lose that weight? Then you’re in the right place. Welcome to the Tough Love Mom podcast, where I am here to help you truly break free from not loving what you see in the mirror so that you can finally feel your best.
(21:17):
And we’re going to do that through postpartum fitness, nutrition, amazing tools and tacticals habits and routines that will create consistency and discipline to help you to keep from falling off the wagon. And we’re also here to work on your thoughts and beliefs because perfectionism and comparison are keeping you stuck.
(21:39):
Hi, I’m Liz Henderson. I’m a military wife, boy mom, work at home mom and I’ve been where you are. I had preeclampsia with my first pregnancy and I gained 90 pounds. I then lost 80 of it in a year. Then I gained 60 pounds with my second, even though it was a healthy pregnancy and I had healthy habits.
(22:00):
But guess what? Through tough love, consistency, habits, routines, mindset, and postpartum tactical weight loss hacks, I lost it all in just 14 months. And I’m here to tell you that you can do it too. Mama swap out those leaky breast pads. It’s time for some tough love.
(22:23):
I love that ending. I had written down, hike up those highways to lighting’s the last even better.
(22:30):
So that’s your long description Liz that’s written. Then when you do the short intro is something like, let me see if I can get that. That’s gotta be less than a minute so that one’s going to be something like, Hey mama, I know you’re here because you’re ready to get disciplined and lose weight. And you’re not afraid of a little tough love.
(22:56):
Hi, I’m Liz Henderson, mom of two who gained 90 pounds with my first, 60 with my second and lost it all. I’m here to teach you how to do exactly the same through postpartum weight loss hacks, habits, routines, thoughts and beliefs. We are about to transform your postpartum journey. Swap out those leaky breast pads, girl. It’s tough love time.
(23:18):
I love it.
(23:20):
So we just got more to the point in the short one.
(23:22):
Yeah, that’s awesome.
(23:23):
Okay. Do you like those?
(23:25):
I love them. Can’t get over leaky breast pads, people are going to die.
(23:31):
The best thing ever. Like I don’t know how long you’ve listened to my show, but people are like, I fell in love with you the moment I heard you say braless and flawless, you know? Or they’re like, I love you the moment I heard you talk about PJ’s all day. Like the more like relatable, that funny sticky thing that we say, people like, oh, she’s my girl, she gets me, you know. So fun.
(23:53):
Yeah. Throw some nuggets on that salad and let’s start.
(23:57):
You’ll just have to listen to those and if you want, you can use Temi to transcribe this and then it saves you some time. It’s like 25 cents a minute. So we’re done with those. All right.
(24:16):
Do you have any time? When did we start?
(24:18):
We’ve got like three minutes. Let’s talk monetization super quick. So when we think monetization, Liz, you want to think about what is the solution for each pillar? So obviously in here, our solution is Beach Body, for now. You already have that. So that’d be easy. And I don’t know how you feel about it.
(24:38):
Typically when someone has an MLM, you can do it as an add to your own show. Like, Hey friends! Today we’re talking about three hacks to weight loss in your first year postpartum. And if you’re struggling with having a fitness plan, that’s going to fit your life without feeling hungry all the time or that’s just another diet, I have a plan that I personally use to lose 90 pounds in my first 60 with my second.
(25:01):
And I’ve taught hundreds of other women to do exactly the same thing. I would love to help support you in your journey through these products. Just email me at liz@….com. Like don’t tell them it’s beach body ever. So give me your ideas of the other stuff.
(25:17):
So I was thinking of offering some one on one coaching to make sure I understand her fully, like soon. I already applied for P2P because I want to get this off the ground stat.
(25:29):
Perfect. Well, you’ll be in, cause we’re going to sending letters on Monday to everyone that’s in.
(25:34):
So excited. Well, that was part of it. And then a consistency course, like that just just sticks so, well consistency course, maybe like an ad-on of the time management routines or habits, not like a mini course or something, but those are the kinds of things I was thinking.
(25:52):
That’s so perfect. I love that.
(25:53):
And maybe offering like a one session one-on-one coaching, a three session, a six session and kind of price them so there it makes more sense to get a package instead of just paying for one. I want to serve women that aren’t just doing beach body, because there’s so many amazing fitness and nutrition things out there, but it’s the other parts they struggle with.
(26:11):
So what I would recommend is you’re ready to launch this thing. When you start begin by pitching this coaching without a promise, like for example, Hey friend, you’re ready for some tough love mentor in your pocket? Hi, I’m Liz. I can’t wait to help you see this through. So if you need some help in your postpartum weight loss habits, routines, or thoughts and beliefs, let’s grab a one hour session and map that out.
(26:35):
Like instead of just trying to coach on this piece or on this piece, if you leave it, open-ended, you’re going to get your, whatever her name was, Morgan’s like, it’s almost like you’re getting paid to do market research. So doing those for like, if you could do four of those, then you’re going to have her words to use in your marketing.
(26:56):
You’re going to have the solutions that you ended up giving her, which will probably become your course. And then you’re going to have a framework that you naturally start to teach with. That’s going to become your system, but you have to get in the room with some people. And that’ll give us a lot of data for P2P.
(27:13):
I’m excited. December 13th, it’s going up.
(27:19):
I’m writing it down which means it’s happening.
(27:21):
Oh, it’s happening.
