(00:00):
Hey girl, welcome to episode 156 of the podcast. Today I’m going to simplify your life because one of the number one things, my clients and my students and my community tell me is I’m overwhelmed. I don’t know what to do. I have this huge list of all the things, and I’m just confused on what to do first and what to do when.
(00:21):
So I hear you guys. I really care about what you’re struggling with. My number one goal is to make things easy for you so that you can have success and feel peace in your business. I put together a comprehensive, completely free PDF for you. Yay! Called the Mompreneur Business Blueprint.
(00:41):
Now this blueprint is a simple step by step order of operations for creating and scaling a brand online. It’s 17 pages, and it goes through step 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and on. Explains how to do it. Then each section has advanced training for you linked from my podcast. It’s amazing, completely free.
(01:02):
I could have charged for this, but I didn’t because you guys are amazing and I want you to have success. I just feel like this is super needed. So if you want to follow along, I want you to go to bizblueprint.gr8.com. Download your copy.
(01:25):
I am only going through the first five steps today on the podcast, but there are actually 13 steps in scaling and launching an online brand and business. So you’re going to have to grab your biz blueprint and I’ll meet you inside the episode.
(02:27):
Okay guys, step number one is actually clarity. Just simply brand clarity. How can you get where you want to go? If you don’t know exactly where you’re going, right, and who you want to serve. So step one, before you do anything, before you get website, an email list, doing all the things, you have to know, what is the mission here? What is the goal?
(02:51):
So what I recommend is journal out a vision for your brand, identify and map out an avatar that you want to serve. So give her a name. Y’all know my girl’s name is Lola. We know who she is. She’s all of you. You need to do that for your business. You then need to create a paragraph or two describing the solutions, trainings, and topics that will solve her problems.
(03:12):
What I do when I meet with clients is we go through the four tiers of brand creation. This would be a great idea for you. Step one is the tagline title or name of your brand. Step two is like the promise/you can call it a tagline or a promise.
(03:27):
Step three is the description of your brand. So like two paragraphs of what is it? Who is it for? What is it going to do for her? How’s it going to serve her? What are you going to include in your content? Then the fourth tier is actually mapping out content ideas. Okay?
(03:43):
So I would recommend doing that for your business. That is step one when you are just getting started. Number two, create a vision statement and apply meaning to your vision.
(03:54):
So this one for me is first and foremost, this is before you go and create a branded website, this is before you have a logo, this is getting clarity on the why, and then making sure that the why has actual meaning that’s going to drive you and propel you forward.
(04:12):
Imagine if you woke up every day with so much passion and excitement about the big picture vision of your life, that nothing could stop you. What if you were able to tap into that feeling of meaning every time you sat down? Let me tell you guys that it’s not a dream. That’s a reality.
(04:29):
If you want more on this specific step, go listen to episode 153 of the podcast. I have an entire training on that, that I did for my mastermind girls on creating a vision and then digging to it. So that there’s meaning there for you.
(04:43):
So the homework here for you is to create a one year vision statement of your life, write it in the present tense, explain in detail. What would your like life look like and feel like. What kind of coffee do you wake up to? You know, what trip are you packing for? What amount of money are you taking to deposit into the bank that day?
(05:03):
As vivid as you can possibly paint that picture, the more it’s going to resonate in your heart and embed in your subconscious mind, which is going to make you do the work. So let me tell you as a full-time entrepreneur for seven years, having the vision statement is everything.
(05:20):
There are days where it doesn’t feel fun. There are moments where you are overwhelmed. You are frustrated, you just don’t know what you don’t know. I know that feeling and still get that feeling. You guys. So we have to have the vision to overcome.
(05:34):
The next one. Step three is to goal map and reverse engineer your vision into actionable steps. So in this one, you’re going to take that vision you created for your life and you’re going to reverse engineer. You’re going to take what amount of money would make that a reality for my life. Then you’re going to break that down into quarterly, monthly, and weekly goals.
(05:57):
A goal is just a goal. It’s just something to strive for. It is not, you know, cry yourself to sleep if you miss and you’re a failure and you got to, you know, go back to corporate because you failed your goal.
(06:08):
No a goal is simply a guideline to get you moving forward. So why do we care about this? Because we have to know what would it take for that vision to become a reality? What amount of income, what size would your audience need to be? Your list, your podcast, etc. So that you could create a 2% to 5% conversion and you can map out what amount of money would make your dreams come true.
(06:35):
So, in addition, as I’m going through each of these steps in the actual blueprint that you downloaded, you will see advanced training below each of these steps. So for step two, for example, there’s two specific additional trainings. For step three, you’re going to find two additional trainings as well.
(06:56):
So make sure you get the down so you can listen to the specifics on each step as you go forward in the blueprint. That’s again at bizblueprint.gr8.com. Okay.
(07:10):
The next one, once you’ve gotten that map for what you’re doing, when step four is figure out which activities will fuel that income goal every week, every month, every quarter, it’s just figuring it out. Guys, this is not hard to do. It takes a day of your life to create the vision and map out the goals that go with it and then figure out let me get clarity behind what to actually do so that I can make that money.
(07:40):
So that I can grow that podcast so that I can do the needle moving things or actions inside my business. Then this also pairs with time blocking. So at this point by step four, you have a really great baseline and you’re really ready to start working. Okay, you’ve got a brand you’re ready to go. But you got to figure out what do I do? What do I actually do? So what do you actually do?
(08:07):
First, you spend 60% of your work time doing a activity. This includes content creation, which means blogging, writing, micro blogging, podcasting, video, whichever your thing is meeting with actual clients or selling your product, helping your audience implement the teachings and then anything that’s related to that.
(08:34):
So in other words, a activity is service it’s service and implementation for your avatar. Let me share my biggest secret with you of all time. Are you listening? Here is my secret to six figures and beyond and to a hundred thousand plus followers and lists and communities, and successful podcasts. Give it all away for free.
(09:06):
You heard me. You’re like what Stef? Listen, the more you serve, the more you will earn. The more you serve and give, the more you’ll earn. That is the long game. That’s the authentic game. That’s the game where people know you are what’s up. That you’re legit, that you’re trustworthy.
(09:26):
So in this step, I want you to create a list of three to five things you commit to doing that will serve your avatar for free every single week. Then I want you to block that into your planner and calendar so that you don’t have an excuse. Inventory what you’re actually doing. That’s not making you money, growing your audience, or serving her and get rid of it. Okay?
(09:51):
Then in this one, there are three additional advanced trainings inside of your download that will help you.
(09:58):
Next step. Step number five is you need a weekly content outlet. So before we can start charging for services, which believe me, I love money. You guys, I believe that money is great. I think that God wants us to have money when we have the right intentions behind money. So we can go do things for his kingdom.
(10:18):
We can support schools and churches and missions and have a life that isn’t full of stress. So we want to get there. But before we get there, we have to instill trust inside of our listeners and our readers and our audience, right?
(10:33):
So when you’re creating an organic brand, that’s going to scale to profits, the number one thing you need to do is you need to create a long form content vessel. I want you guys to do this every single week. Wait, Stef, what is long form content? What?
(10:50):
Okay. Long form content is like 15 minutes or more. So this would be a podcast episode, a written blog, maybe a video training that’s full of storytelling, guidance implementation. It basically helps your human get from point A to point B.
(11:06):
So whatever it is that you know and you want to then pour it into the world, that’s what you need to create on a weekly basis. Here’s why this sets you up for success because very few people you guys are showing up consistently for more than six months, like let alone three months.
(11:26):
So many people, I see them get an idea, a burst of inspiration. They’re really super pumped. They go on Insta or they start the podcast or they do a YouTube channel for like two seconds. They’re like, wow, that didn’t work.
(11:37):
Long form content takes a year to gain a ton of traction. So if you’re really going to do something and do it well, you’ve got to commit before the money comes in. I know that that’s so annoying. It’s like, well, I need to make money. I’m working for free. Yes, you are.
(11:55):
Just like when we go to college, before we get the job, we’re learning for free. We’re paying to learn. You are paying to go get a job that maybe pays $40K or $50K. Right?
(12:06):
So why is it any different to build an online business? It’s not. So I’m going to be that coach that’s different and telling you, we have to do the work before we earn the money. Don’t believe the lies of snap your fingers, create the fancy sales funnel, or spend thousands on ads and just be profitable overnight because it’s a lie and it’s a short term play. It will blow up.
(12:29):
I promise you, you’ve got to do this right. So if you go in order of my business blueprint, I’m going to teach you how to make the profits, but we’re going to profit on top of a stable foundation.
(12:41):
So in step five, your homework is to decide on at least one content outlet. I don’t recommend you have more than two or three, but at least one and you begin and showing up and producing unique content at least once every single week.
(12:59):
Do this for at least four weeks before you move on to step number six. In this one, you guys, I have five additional advanced trainings for you on weekly content outlet, which is step five. So you’ve got to go there, get to step five and then listen to those advanced trainings as well.
(13:20):
Now, since we’re doing so good on time, I’m going to throw you a bonus step. Step number six. Then for the rest of this, you have to go download the blueprint. Why am I having you do that? Because I want you on my email list. Yeah. I also don’t want you to skip ahead. I know how you guys are. You’re like, but which step is making money? No, no, no. We’re going in order Lola.
(13:45):
So step number six is to create a freebie/opt in. Whatever word you like for that. It’s your free thing. That’s going to start to grow your email list. For me, it’s this mompreneur business blueprint. You guys see how this works?
(14:00):
So now that you’re showing up in the world, you’ve got clarity, you’ve got confidence. You’re now consistent with the stuff you’re putting out at least once a week with long form content. You need to start capturing those listeners. Those listeners who become part of your email list are going to convert because they trust you. They see you weekly, know you’re consistent, and stay with you for a long period of time.
(14:26):
Some of my best clients were on my list for years before they ever hired me. Everyone’s ready and willing in their own time, but you need to be front of mind when they are ready. How do you do that? You have them on your email list and you send weekly love notes. Okay?
(14:42):
So you guys are going to see my weekly love notes. When you opt in for the mompreneur business blueprint, I’m not salesy. I’m not spammy. I’m information based. I mention how people can work with me. So it’s exactly how I would recommend that you structure.
(14:57):
Anyway, getting ahead of myself, get the blueprint to read all about that. I do explain all of those steps as well. Okay?
(15:05):
So there are many ways that you can create a freebie or an opt-in, but the one that produces the best results for me is a simple checklist. It’s my podcast launch checklist. It’s like a couple pages and is so simple. You guys. It has at its best, roughly 50% opt-in which blows my face off.
(15:25):
Then the second one so far has been this business blueprint. Out of all the probably dozens of freebies I have, why are those two the most high converting? I’ll tell you, they help you. There are things that you guys asked me for.
(15:43):
As you get to know your avatar at a deeper level, the longer you podcast, the longer you ask questions and polls in your Instagram stories, the more coaching that you do, the more you hear from your audience where they’re stuck. Where did I hear that people were stuck? Order of operations.
(16:01):
Stef, how do I launch? What do I do first? What goes, where Stef? How do I start an online business? What goes where? What do I do first? It’s the overwhelm of information that kept people in this, you know, frozen state of fear.
(16:16):
So I’m like, oh my gosh, I can fix that. I can create a simple checklist and a simple training. So what you want to do is ask yourself, actually ask your avatars, hey guys, what are you struggling with the most? The reason that you’re not doing this step one is because you have to have some people to ask.
(16:35):
So now that you’ve been doing your thing for a couple months, put some polls out there, put some feelers out there, go live in your groups, ask people in your podcast to send you a DM. That’s market research so that you can serve her better. I’m constantly asking these questions ladies.
(16:51):
So because both of these freebies are simple, simple how-to checklists and PDFs, they are easy for them to download. They are not confusing. They are not overdoing it. You just want to create something simple that gets her results, okay? This can be a checklist or a guide. It can even be a video, but make sure that you get to the point quickly.
(17:15):
Because they’re basically giving you their email address, which nowadays my email address is under lock and key, right? But if I’m going to give that, I want a solution to be promised to me. Then I expect that solution to be delivered quickly and efficiently in whatever freebie that they’re giving me.
(17:32):
Now you can also do text opt-ins if that’s your jam. You can also do something like a mini chat and do messenger opt-ins. Totally up to you. I’ve dabbled in everything today. I prefer email because that’s what I prefer to receive.
(17:48):
I get super annoyed when people text me and I don’t really like when people message me. Messaging is okay. I guess that would be second. But if I want to read something, I just like email. I don’t know if I’m just old school, but you think about how do you like to get information from a list? Then that’s maybe what you should do now.
(18:07):
Your first freebie is probably not going to be the one. Disclaimer, okay. Keep creating and solving as you get to know your community at a deeper level. It’s taken me seven years to have some opt-ins that are stellar. So take that with a grain of salt. Another ninja tip is get to the point.
(18:28):
Go ahead and solve but solve efficiently. If your freebie is a three minute training, that gets to the point, gets to the root issue and solves. Amen. Don’t add more. Get her a result quickly.
(18:40):
Now that is number step number six, there are two additional advanced trainings in the download. Okay guys. So I can’t wait to hear how much clarity you receive after going through the business blueprint and going through the next step.
(18:57):
I recommend that you block out an hour to two hours every single week to work on this blueprint. If you do that within 90 to 120 days, maybe six months, you’re going to have an entire business from beginning to end.
(19:11):
All the things are going to be set up. You’re going to have your landing page, email system, a website, a promotion strategy, and your business structure in place so that you’re legally protected and you’re going to be making money.
(19:24):
If you just follow my blueprint, I really took the time to create as clearly and simply as I could what to do when. So download this, let me know what you think. Let me know what step you’re on. I want to hear from you guys to know where you are in your actual business market research for me so that I know what to create for you on the podcast going forward.
(19:46):
If all of you are step nine in this blueprint, I need to get more advanced. Okay? If all of you are at step two, okay? So I need to hear from you guys. When you download your blueprint, take a look, let me know what step you’re on. Then come to my DMS on Instagram @StefanieGass and let me know what step you are. I want to hear from you.
(20:06):
Okay, lovely. Leaving you with a quick prayer. I just want to send you off with so much excitement today. Because no matter where you are in your business, there’s so many incredible things down the pipeline for you. All you got to do is trust it. There is no problem too big that you cannot solve either with a Google search bar or with some help from somebody that’s already been there.
(20:28):
I know that you are resourceful and you are incredible and you are strong and what ever needs to happen for you to get to that next step. You’re going to figure it out because I believe in you because God called you to do this work.
(20:40):
Whatever you’re trying to do today, it’s not an accident and God wants to use you for good. He wants to use you to move the needle. He needs us to continue going. Even though we are afraid, see adversity, and hear all the reasons why we can’t.
(20:55):
Whether that be from inside of our own hearts or from other people, we have to continue marching forward. So I just pray over you that you see that vision and know that you are so important to big picture here. But anyway, there you go. Love you so much. I’ll see you guys soon. As always, love and light, Stef.
