In today’s episode I am walking you through how to make affiliate revenue part of your business model. I explain how I made $4K last month by using simple affiliate marketing strategies. I will take you through 4 steps of ramping up your own affiliate revenue stream.

What’s up girl, I’m super excited to bring you today’s episode. This is something that I don’t talk about often, if ever, however, so many Evers, it has a large part of my profitability model. It is an income stream for me that has grown quite substantially this year.
And I’m really excited to talk to you guys about affiliate income, AKA marketing stuff for other people, whether it be their courses, programs, coaching, or services. This is an amazing way for you to bring in some extra revenue. And I’m going to deep dive

Into how wow. I made $4,000 in affiliate empowerment last month, and how this can become a play that you pop into your playbook too. Let’s do it. All right, let’s do it first. I want to start by giving you the definition

Or really an affiliate income 1 0 1 so that you really understand what it is. Affiliate marketing is when you sign up, typically you can also have a Gentlewoman’s gentleman’s handshake. You know what I’m saying? But typically you actually sign up to market someone else’s stuff. All right. So whether that be another person’s courses, you go and sign up to be an affiliate for them, you market their products and courses.

And when something sells, you receive a commission, this can happen really for anything that people have an affiliate set up for. All right, it can be, Hey, you get me coaching clients and I’ll pop you back 20%. Hey, you sell our service or our online program and we’ll cut. We’ll pop you back 50%. Okay. So that’s what it is. Now you can affiliate for other people and other people can affiliate for you, your stuff, which is super cool.

Okay. So let’s go, step-by-step into how you can add affiliate income into your business model. Step one is to find, or actually to inventory, what courses, coaches services or online platforms do you, you use, or have you used in the past that have gotten you a really big, amazing result? So for me, when I sit there and I inventory this, I’m going to look at what courses have I taken of those courses?

Is there one that really created a massive transformation in my life and business? If yes, I’m going to circle that course, then we’re going to go to coaches. Is there a coach or a program, a group, a group coaching program of some kind that I’ve done that drastically changed my life or business. If yes, circle it. Number three, you’re going to inventory all the online programs that you use, your email platform, your website, builder whatever it might be.

Okay. You’re podcasting hosting. Like anything that you use as a service provider online to run your business has an affiliate program guys. So circle the ones that are like your die hard can’t live without them. Here’s something, a hard lesson that I’ve learned is that you don’t want to affiliate for everything.
(04:24):
You know, I could literally affiliate for everything I use at least six different online programs. I’ve taken a handful of different courses. I’ve worked with a handful of different coaches or mentors. And the situation is you can’t be an effective affiliate marketer. If you’re marketing 10 different things, you really have to pare it down for me.
(04:48):
And my book of business. What I’ve learned is that if I’m really only marketing three things actively, I’m going to make a much bigger profit margin than if I’m trying to sprinkle throughout a hundred things.

Okay? So you really want to pick, I would say no more than one thing in each of those three buckets. Now, if you’ve taken a course from somebody that has another set of courses or the coach that you love also has courses, you can just be an affiliate for that one person. All right. And the biggest takeaway here is not to market everything you’ve ever done, but to market only the things that have changed your life or business, or have gotten you a big result.

You can’t vouch for something that you haven’t walked through. You don’t have the marketing verbiage because you haven’t had a testimony. Right? So don’t just pick something because it, oh, this costs a thousand bucks. If I market this course, I’ll get 30% commission. Awesome. But you’ve never actually taken the course. Okay. So that’s why we’re doing this inventory.

So once you have your three things that you’ve circled, one in the, in the courses, bucket two in the coaching group, group, coaching bucket three in the services or online program bucket. Now we move to step two. And if you will, I only have one thing circled in there. Awesome. It’s way easier to market. One thing than it is to market a hundred things. All right. Number two. So one was inventory.

Step two is to go and sign up to be an affiliate. Now, if this coach course service is pretty established, most often, they do already have an affiliate program set up. All you got to do is head to their website or pop in their Facebook group and post a comment. How do I sign up for an affiliate for this? Or shoot them an email. All right. And ask, Hey, I’d love to be an affiliate for your course.

The macro moms masterclass. I loved it. I had a huge transformation. How do I sign up to be in the field? Now you’ll typically get a sign up link to be an affiliate. What to look for guys, if I’m being really honest with you, I’m not going to sign up to affiliate for someone’s thing for 10%. Okay. It’s gotta be worth your while to market this thing. So for me, a minimum baseline is 30% commission.

I actually prefer 50% commission on my affiliate release. Oops. All right. Now there’s a few outliers to that. But most of the things, things that I actively market are between 30 to 50% commission. And I do want you to know the bigger that you grow, the larger your platform becomes the more bandwidth that you have between your podcast and your online community. You can negotiate all, man.

Yes, you can. You can come to the table and say, wow, I loved your, your macro masterclass for busy moms. I saw that you only pay 20%, but listen, you know, I’ve got to show with whatever 200,000 downloads. My community of 50,000 women. I love to actively market your product. But I’m curious if we could set up a affiliate commission deal at 30 or 40% ask, what’s the worst that can happen.
(08:13):
Okay. The other thing you can do is start where they are. And then after you make some sales, you can approach them and say, Hey, if you noticed I’ve made some sales, I would love to scale up my commission on this product because I’m actively marketing it. So that’s step two is to sign up. So step one is inventory. Find your thing that you’re gonna market.
(08:30):
Step two is to sign up. Step three is to promote. Now this one gets a little sticky because you guys have been hanging out with me for any number of, of episodes now, or you’ve taken my courses. You’ve gone through my product suite with me or coached with me. You know, I’m super pro marketing, your own passive programs or coaching. Your profit margin is insane. You’re making 80 to 90% profit margin.
(09:04):
When you build out a business, the way that I’ve taught you using CYC than PPU than P2P, right? We’ve got a podcast, we’ve got our courses, we’re using organic urgency, marketing, easy peasy, lemon squeezy. So you really have to be careful and mindful of what you’re actively promoting at any given time. I am going to, my rule of thumb is an 80 20 rule. I am promoting my own courses, coaching our programs, 80% of the time.

You guys can probably vouch to this. When you listen to my episodes, you hear me mention CYC for clarity podcast pro. If you want to start the show or scale your online audience and PGP to create the course and launch strategy for growing your podcast into a big, juicy, incredible business, right? So I’m constantly mentioning those things because those are what I sell. Like those are the bread and butter to my entire business.
(10:02):
However, 20% of the time, I like to market some other stuff, other stuff that I’m super passionate about, right? So in the month of may, I made $4,000 by marketing other stuff. So what I do is I take a look at my promotion calendar for the year, which is built in a sauna, and I know which months I’m doing, what for my business, which months that, you know, maybe I’m just running P2P.

I’m not launching it right now, or I’m not doing anything cool for the end of the year or whatnot. I’ve got just an empty month. Those are great months for me to pull in an affiliate marketing relationship and go ham with someone else on their thing. Why? Well, because you know, you guys as busy working entrepreneur mamas, you have other needs outside of the three courses that I offer. And so I want to fulfill those needs for you as well.

So I’m looking for those solutions that I’ve actively done and taken. And those, those programs, those providers, those other coaches that I trust that have, that have courses or programs for you in the other areas of your life. And I’m going to market those on my off months, right? So in may I marketed someone else’s course, I had a big, big influx of, I have a relationship with someone else that offers a service that I don’t offer.
(11:28):
And so I’m constantly pushing people to her to take care of that need for my community. I also sold a bunch of thrive cart and teachable and pod bean, which those are services that I constantly use to run my business. And so I’m marketing those services inside of my courses and inside of my platforms.
(11:49):
So imagine if you have this business model that you have your own thing, you market your own thing, you make 80, let’s even say let’s be conservative, 80% profit margin on your own course or coaching or whatever. Then you sprinkle in these other solutions for your avatar. That makes sense for them, don’t pick something random, right?
(12:10):
Like if you’re the macro mom doing macros and fitness, don’t pick a random like affiliate course with, with setting up a trademark, you know, like that doesn’t make sense for your market. It may have helped you because you, you set up a trademark for your business or whatever, but that doesn’t help your macro mom with her fitness journey.
(12:30):
Maybe you can set up a course with a food freedom mentor or coach because you don’t offer food, freedom coaching, you know? So that would be, that would make more sense for you as a relationship where two times a year, you do a push to that food. Freedom coaches course, that’s a perfect fit for you. Maybe also there’s an app that tracks macros, that tracks fitness and it’s paid, and it helps you really stay accountable and you use it and you absolutely love it.

That’s another thing you should actively affiliate for. Let’s say two or three times a year. So you want to find the thing that really fits in. So back to number three, which is promotion in the 20% pockets of time that you’re actively promoting. Let me be really brutally honest with you. You’re not going to sell anything for someone else by casually dropping a link.

So you’re almost like actively marketing this affiliate thing for a certain number of weeks, or it’s something that you’re actively marketing even once a month, like casually. Because if you say something, once it’s not going to sell you all, you have to say something seven to 15 times in order for people to buy it. That’s why when I decide to affiliate for something I’m all in you, can’t dip your toe in the water and pull it out and hope that you sold something.
(15:21):
So don’t just sign up for everything. Really commit, commit to being an affiliate for one certain thing that makes perfect sense for your market. Make that a success story before you add something else into the bucket. Now, if you notice I did something, there it’s an urgency strategy, which was create a coupon code. This is something that you can talk to, whoever it is that you’re affiliating about in regards to,
(15:46):
Hey, is there an opportunity to set up a coupon code or to run some type of special in order to help us sell more of your thing guys? Number four. So we did one inventory to sign up three promote. Number four is to, to scale and sell. So when I about scale and selling, here’s something super easy that y’all can do to blow it up. When it comes to affiliate marketing, have your person that you signed up with, come and sell it for you, Doug, it’s their product.

It’s their service, platform, course have them come on to your podcast. Your Facebook group have them record an ad for you that you can pop into your show. They want it to sell, believe me. Okay. So ask them to come and actively sell it for you. How easy is that? You could do a workshop with that person. Okay? You could have them set up all of the copy for you and the workshop they could do.
(16:45):
The poll they can do. The whole thing. All you have to do is create the event and invite easy, easy, easy peasy. All right. So those are my four steps. That is exactly how I have grown a thriving affiliate revenue for 4k in revenue this past month, just from affiliate sales, which is super, super easy. It’s a great little icing on the cake for anybody.
(17:06):
And it’s something that makes sense because we can not create everything for our avatar, nor should we, you’ve got to create, you’ve got to solve their number one problem with the things that you know, how to solve. And then you’ve got to let some other people solve some of the other problems, right?
(17:26):
Because we don’t have the expertise in the skillsets of everything that our people need. So for example, in my business, I’m not a lawyer, right? And you guys are constantly asking me for lawyer, lawyer recommendations trademarks contracts. So I have an affiliate relationship with a lawyer and contracts that I will mention and send business to her. I am not a home expert. I don’t know how to get your life in order at your home.
(17:54):
Okay. I don’t know about that stuff. I’m all right at it, but it’s not my zone of genius, nor is it something that lights me up to talk about is getting your, your home in order and detoxing and making sure all those pieces of your life as a work from home mom are in order.
(18:07):
So I affiliate for someone else’s course, right? I don’t do graphic design. Y’all better. Believe it. A girl does not know how to logo. Okay. So obviously I have a relationship set up with Allie and I refer business out to her. So you got to look for your weak spots and find a trusted relationship with someone that can solve that other problem that you don’t solve. And then let that person sell it organically market it, pop it in.
(18:39):
When you’re talking about that topic on the show and make sure that it’s worth your while 30 to 30 to 50% is really non-negotiable for me. When I started, I maybe would have marketed stuff for 20%, but again, like if you’re a selling, if you are giving away real estate on your podcast, on your Facebook group, you better make sure it’s worth your time.

That that profit coming back to you is going to be enough to move the needle to the right. Now, all that being said, if you guys do something in the network marketing space, in the online business sphere, if you’re a coach, if you’re a service provider, if you’re a freelancer, if you help other people grow online businesses, if you help mompreneurs, if you help female entrepreneurs, if any of that, and my products are a fit for your avatar.

And she’ll get you set up. Okay. It’s super easy. And then here’s what I want you to do after you’ve signed up to be an affiliate for me, don’t just leave it. You got to move to step three, which is promote and step four, sell and scale. I will come on any of my affiliates podcasts. I will come inside of any of my affiliates groups and I will sell it for you. Yes and amen.

That the number one thing you can do is not have all of your eggs in someone else’s basket. It’s okay to have a couple eggs in someone else’s basket. But what I really want for all of you is to have your own basket full of eggs, different colored, eggs, different styles, something you own, you can grow, you can scale it. You own the profit margin. You own the marketing of that thing, and it can really be limitless for you. And totally 100% scalable.
(21:23):
If I learned anything the hard way it was to do just that and not have all my eggs in someone else’s basket. So I pray. This finds you right on time. All you have to do is step out, leap out on faith, say yes, name into his call over your life and do the work. Let him open the doors. God I ask you to just be with these women right now, everyone listening, I ask that you would just place your hand of favor upon their lives, upon their businesses, that you would open their hearts to how to do this your way to let go of anything.
