21 New Students and Doubled Her Email List and Facebook Group

I’m sharing with you how Podcast to Profit student Sarah Beisel used her podcast to get 21 new students and doubled her email list and her Facebook group in 6 months.

Welcome, Sarah!

Stef: Welcome to the podcast Sarah! It’s so great to have you here. Tell us who you are and what you do.

Sarah: Thanks for having me! I’m happy to be here. My podcast is called Simple Facebook Group Strategy, and it’s based on helping Christian entrepreneurs create engaged Facebook groups as part of their business, and I love it!

Stef: I remember when we were in Podcast to Profit we had this pivotal moment of finding what your “thing” is going to be and we continued to explore until you really niched in and it created an explosion point for you.

Sarah: Yes, I was scared to be too specific, but it really made such a difference. Before P2P I was just general business and it was way too broad. So I needed to know how to fix it.

Stef: You came in the program ready to learn and ready to apply and you would just DO. I was so proud of you for that.

Sarah: I had decided during the internship that I was going to do P2P by the book. There wasn’t a reason to invest all the time and energy and not do it exactly how you taught it.

Sarah Finds Podcast To Profit

Stef: So how did you find me and what was your student journey like?

Sarah: About 3 years ago, when I had just started my business, I found one of your bootcamps. I remember being really triggered when you told us to put our phones down and quit being distracted. At the time I didn’t realize how distracted I truly was by social media and all the things. But with time, as I started to analyze, I noticed how right you were.

When the internship came up I knew I wanted to do it, because financially I couldn’t afford it at the time, so this was the perfect opportunity to get into the program.

Stef: I know a lot of people are probably triggered by the things I say, but I am unapologetic about the ways I believe God has equipped me to lead others to lead a business that is glorifying to Him. If we are obsessing over social media and our phones, at the expense of time with our family, that’s a problem. It’s never comfortable or easy to be triggered, but start asking yourself and pray “Why do I feel this way?”

For example, I used to be triggered by people being more successful than me and God had to show me that I wasn’t in a humility posture, but a pride posture. The triggers can be good because they show you so much.

From Internship to Mastermind

Stef: Sarah came into Podcast to Profit through our internship. You intern for 6 months and then receive access to the mastermind in exchange. So Sarah, did you have fears around that?

Sarah: I had to weigh out “is this worth the time.” It was 5-7 hours a week that I had to devote to something outside myself and my business to access the program. But, I continued to see people be at peace and the results they were getting so I knew I wanted to invest my time in this way. It’s been the best thing I’ve done for my business.

Stef: I love that. I know there is always a fear whether it be the investment, or time, or whatever fear you can come up with, but there is zero growth without pushing through fear. It can be hard to invest in yourself with all the questions that come up, but if you feel convicted and you’ve prayed about it, then it’s your responsibility to take a step of faith. Let Him figure out the finances, time, or how.

Sarah’s Experience in Podcast to Profit

Stef: What was your experience like in the program? What was your favorite part?

Sarah: I can’t pinpoint what my favorite part is because I really enjoyed all of it. The coaching with you was great because there are so many things you have a true gift for and the clarity you give. Having the student coaches was really helpful too, for those questions that might feel silly, and they take such good care of the students. It was a whole network of support.

Stef: I love that you brought that up because people all learn differently. Some people learn best by spotlight coaching with me, and some people learn better with writing and the feedback from the community coaches. I’m always blown away by my coaches.

Sarah: Yes, they always gave in-depth answers.

Stef: How did the time work out for you since it was a concern for you coming in?

Sarah: No, it was great! My husband was super supportive so when I had calls he would take over baby duties and let me use my pockets of time. The fact that I was seeing such quick results, even in my emotional state, he knew it was worth it.

Stef: There’s always a way to make it happen.

Sarah’s Win with Email and a Facebook Group

Stef: Tell us about your tactical wins after finishing Podcast to Profit. Did you have a small audience?

Sarah: It wasn’t a huge audience, but pretty much everything doubled organically from start to finish of the program. That was cool because I had been in business for 3 years. Looking at my numbers:

• My downloads went from 6k-12k
• My email list went from 380-800
• My Facebook group went from 800 to 1600

Stef: I know that your metrics grew in all these places which is amazing, but did you actually make money or get any clients from your Facebook group?

Sarah: Yes! I launched part of a new course that I built in P2P and so far I’ve had 21 students sign up in 4 months. It’s awesome. It’s true organic growth that I learned in your mastermind.

Stef: Without P2P do you think you would have these kinds of results?

Sarah: No! I wouldn’t have even had a course because you helped me niche in and get that figured out. I don’t even know where I would be.

Stef: I love that you can fine-tune and then rinse and repeat. You don’t have to be on social media to make these numbers happen.

Sarah: Yes, everything is so casual and I have so much peace about it.

Stef: Yes, when we have a business in alignment with God then we serve, give, and allow people to come to this invitation. And, when they want to join, it will be a beautiful exchange. Thank you for sharing your heart and story today. If anyone was sitting on the fence, what would you say to them?

Sarah: First, if the finances are the roadblock, check out the internship. That’s a great opportunity and you’ll learn so much, but I’ve never regretted this business decision. I’ve made some bad coaching investments, but this one is different and I’ve seen results. It sets you up for success so you can execute over and over again. It’s going to give you so much confidence in how to run a business.
