(00:01)
Hey sisters. So I just got off a coaching call with my friend, Ashley Carroll, who runs So She Grows podcast. And we were talking about this concept of getting unstuck and she, and I both realized that in both of our podcasts, it is one of the top 10 episodes. I think actually top five episodes for her and in the top 10 for me. And it just made me really think that and feel that maybe I should talk to you guys about getting unstuck one more time.
(00:33)
Cause it’s literally been almost two years since I had that episode. So in today’s fun little bonus, we are going to dig into how to get unstuck in your life and business and how to really have that breakthrough and take action so that you can just kind of stop wallowing in the what ifs and start stepping up into your own potential and purpose. You’re going to love it. Let’s go.
(01:52)
All right. Let’s shift gears. It’s time to talk about getting unstuck. So first, what does it mean to be stuck? I think what it means to be stuck is to feel like you’re in this middle ground of meh. You’re like, I’m just here and everything’s the same and isn’t there more and am I missing something? And why doesn’t this life, this motherhood, this business. Why doesn’t it feel like enough?
(03:55)
You’re maybe in a constant state of overwhelm or what if or comparisonitis or of imposter syndrome and you just can’t seem to move. You can’t seem to take action. And you know, you know, there’s something that you’re missing. You know, that there’s something on the other side of what’s next. You just either can’t get the clarity to go there.
(04:18)
Or you’re afraid to take the action to get there, or you’re unsure of how to move or you’ve tried lots and lots of different things, but you just feel like you’re not having any success at it and that maybe you’re drowning or you can’t, or there’s not enough time, etc. You all feel, you feelin this? Okay. Okay. Let me know if you’re feeling this.
(04:40)
I can’t see your, I can’t see what you’re doing, but just snap with me. If you’re like, yes, I feel this. I feel this I’m ready to get unstuck. That’s what it is. So why, why do we get stuck? We get stuck because the world normalizes not being enough. And the enemy loves when you are not taking action. The enemy loves when you’re captive to all of the lies in your mind, to all of the reasons why you can’t, right? Satan loves that.
(05:14)
It’s the cracks that he withers in through, embeds the lies in our minds and keeps us from moving. And I believe when we are stuck, we are doing a disservice to our purpose. We are doing a disservice to how God created us because he created us in his likeness. He created us with the armor of God. We are all, we are all soldiers for the kingdom.
(05:41)
When we sit quietly in fear and we just tell ourselves over and over again, that we’re just stuck or that we just can’t. We are not rising up to the call that he has given us. And that’s really sad, but it’s, it’s here. It’s normal. We all deal with it. And we deal with it because we allow ourselves to believe the lies of the world, the normalizing of not acting, right? The movements of, Oh, I’m just a hot mess mom express.
(06:15)
So I’m just going to drink wine at three o’clock because that’s trendy now. I’m gonna hide over here in, in my facade of excuses and just pretend like this is totally normal because everyone else is doing this. The world tells me it’s okay to be stuck. It’s normal. Numbing mental medicines to escape the reality that I’m just not willing to break through my own limiting beliefs about who I am and why I’m not equipped to move.
(06:48)
Whoa, did that trigger any of you? Good. That’s what I’m here for. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s get into this today. Okay. So that’s the what and the why. Now, how many of you want to be the 1%? You want to rise up out of the 99% of people that are hiding from the call that are hiding from the courage to move that are hiding from stepping up and being different.
(07:24)
Because let me tell you a secret when you’re the 1% people aren’t going to like you. They’re not going to like you. You’re not going to be accepted by everyone. And guess what? That’s good. If we are not getting pushback, if we are not getting persecuted to some degree, as Christians who stand up and speak out and are willing to not normalize what the world says is good, right, real and true. But yet we begin to stand up and say, what God says, and scripture says is real, right and true, we are going to receive persecution.
(08:00)
The Bible tells us to prepare for that, not to shun away from it and just pretend like we are not who we really are. Just so everyone will like us. So you’re going to get that persecution when we’re the 1%. I’m here for it. I’m ready. I’m ready because I have the armor of God. And when I am wearing that armor, nothing can harm me because I know that things of this world are so temporary. They’re so temporary. It’s all going to be gone one day.
(08:35)
None of it’s going to matter. It’s not going to matter if Bob Jones left you a bad review on your podcast when you are up sitting near the throne of God and you have gotten eternal salvation in heaven, eternity full of miracles and blessings and, and a life that you not even a life, an eternity that is just surreal. Think about that. Think about that the next time you tell yourself, you’re not enough and you can’t and you’re just stuck.
(09:06)
So what do we actually do here? Give us some tactical stuff to get unstuck, because I think you’re all raising your hand if you’re still listening to me that you want to be the 1%. You don’t want to be the 99. You don’t want to look back on your life 10 years from now, 20 years from now and go, I wish what if, maybe, but when, right? Because that, that’s crap. You guys, you want your life to be audacious and to get unstuck, you’re going to have to take big risks. And you’re going to have to do things that don’t feel so comfy.
(09:42)
Let’s get into some tactical. So step one, number one, the first thing you need to do to get unstuck is you’ve got to get into, what does God really want of you? What does God want for you? And you need to write a vision statement for your life, a vision statement for your life. I like to do it one year from today. So every year I write a vision statement. This is what do I think God wants of me and with me?
(10:10)
And when I’m partnering with God in my life, what would that look like? And to dream big and audaciously in whatever the gifts are that he’s already equipped you with. And then to let him blow past those goals in your life and actually bringing it into fruition and making it a reality. So what is a vision statement? You’re going to get out of sheet of paper. I want you to hand write this out if you can, if you’re a computer person, okay. But I want you to write a vision of your life.
(10:38)
One year from now, you partnered with God taking big audacious leaps in your business, in your motherhood, in your marriage, in yourself, doing all the work that you have to do in order to begin to make a difference, what would it look like? What would it feel like? A year ago, roughly from today I had just gone to my friend Angie’s event Pays to Be Brave. It was about a year and a couple of months back. And we wrote basically vision statements to ourselves at her event, which is interesting because this is something I’ve been doing for years.
(11:09)
So I love that other amazing leaders are doing this as well. But I wrote down in that letter to myself, basically, that we would begin to be debt-free, that we were going to be taking massive action on figuring out some health stuff going on with some people that I love, that I was going to triple, that God was going to triple my income so that I could really start making a difference and aggressively paying off debt and tithing at a bigger and higher capacity.
(11:38)
I wrote down, what else? I wrote down that I was going to be super present. Mom. I was going to be working less than 30 hours in my business that I was going to hire two new people to help me in my business, that I was going to spend an hour with God every single day. And guess what sisters? Won’t he do it. He not only helped bring all of those things into reality in my life, but he blew through some of the goals that I had set for myself. And well, won’t he do it right?
(12:11)
Because God’s goals aren’t small. God don’t play. He has miraculous the miraculous in store for you when you are ready to stop playing stuck. Yeah. Stop playing small, start playing bigger in the life he wants for you. So step one is you got to write it out. Write it as if in present tense, a day in the life one year from now. Step two, you have to then start taking massive action in creating that life for yourself because God has, he has the connections for you.
(12:53)
He’s got the provision for you. The favor for you. He’s got the breakthroughs, the opportunities. He has the healing in store. Where, where there’s God, there’s a will. Which means there’s a way. You feel that? So you got to take action though. Again, I’ve said this before, but it’s like the loving father that he is waiting for us as his daughters to actually raise our hand, to actually make the call.
(13:24)
To actually ask, to actually show up, to open our mouths, to be willing, to fumble, to be willing, to mess up, to be willing, to have the hard conversations with our spouses or our kids or our bosses or, or teams or whatever he’s waiting. He’s waiting to give you the dreams that you wrote down on the vision statement, for you to stop making excuses for why you can’t just take action in the mess. Your action’s going to be messy.
(13:54)
The first time you guys try something new, the first time you try it, it’s not going to feel easy. It’s not going to feel like it worked. You’re going to know that someone else is doing it better than you, but guess what? That’s okay. Because through a messy action comes he success. Through messy action comes. The clarity through taking action comes the relationships and the breakthroughs in the clients and the money and all the things that God wants to equip us with so that we can do more good here.
(14:25)
You got to take action. What does that mean? It means you’re going to write down number two and action plan. So number one is your vision statement. Number two is your action plan. In order to do blank, pull out the goals from your vision statement. You have to break it down into action steps. So I start with my annual goals, backing into monthly goals, then backing into weekly goals.
(14:49)
Then I back into literally daily goals that are going to get me where I think God is calling me to be. Now this whole time, I’m ready and willing to shift because I know that God’s got this, he’s got this. I’m not in control of the outcome, but I am in control of taking action on the direction in which God has called me to do. Right? I don’t know which podcasts God will have me show up on this year. I don’t know. I don’t know which stages.
(15:19)
I’m not sure which clients he’ll bring me. I’m not sure of the opportunity, but he knows, and I’m here for it. And I’m just going to show up in a big, big, incredible way and trust that whatever he puts in front of me, I’m a yes. Like I’m a huge, yes. Care if I’m messy, weird, nervous, sweaty. I don’t, I don’t really care.
(15:42)
I’m here for it because I know that when I show up for what God has in store for me, I can’t stay stuck. I can’t stay small. I’ve got to rise up because he’s equipped me. He has equipped me. This is not me doing my work. This is me doing God’s work. Are you ready? Are you ready yet? All right. So you got the vision statement. Number one, number two, you’ve got the goals that you’ve then reverse, engineered and backed into.
(16:10)
For example, if you have a goal to hit a hundred thousand in your business, now be realistic. Give yourself a nice stretch, but be realistic, right? Roughly, I like to see a goal of 20% increase in your income every year. That would be great. God loves to show off in this category when you’re finally in alignment with what he wants and you’re taking action and trusting him.
(16:35)
But I think that’s a great place to start. So say that was your goal. Then you’re going to back into it and say, how much would I need to do every month to make this a reality, then how much would I need to do every week then what would I need to do every day? And then you start asking yourself these questions.
(16:48)
Number three, plugging in the actual action steps, the action plan that’s going to make the goals come true or become a reality for you. So if you’ve got in the vision, the a hundred K business, then you have in the goals, a hundred K that you reverse engineered all the way back. Step three is to then create the actions that are going to make it come true. So, number one, you got to actually market yourself, right? Number two, you got to start the podcast that’s going to bring you the business.
(17:21)
Number three, you’ve got to start doing some publicity, some visibility stuff. You’ve got to get on Pinterest. You got to get on some other podcasts. Number four, you got to do some outreach and some follow-up because the first time you hear a no, it doesn’t mean you give up. It means you go for yes, 15 more times. I’m I right? Come on.
(17:40)
All right, that’s going to be your action steps. And you’re going to do that for every single goal that you’ve pulled out of your vision statement. All right. Number five, the next. So we’ve got vision statement, the goal setting, the action plan, sorry. Number four. The fourth thing that you guys are going to do is you’re actually going to renew your mind every single day. And then you’re going to do. You’re going to speak.
(18:06)
You’re going to step. You’re going to get up. You’re going to raise your hand. You’re going to begin to make a difference in your own life because you, my sweet friend have 100% of the power to get unstuck. You can do it right now. This minute, this second, you are fully prepared to make a difference in your own life. And that’s only gonna happen when you make the choice to do the work.
(18:40)
We can make all the pretty goals. We can get the pretty planner and time block. We can create the reverse engineer goal. We can create an action plan for every single goal that we wrote down, and we can stare at it and we can do nothing with it. And we can find ourselves in the same position one year from now, wishing wanting wailing, still stuck, still frustrated, still full of excuses. Or, or you can do my first three steps and then actually make a change based on those three steps in number four, which is renew your mind.
(19:13)
Spend time with God every day. Pray that he gives you the courage, gives you the voice gives you the movement gives you the shoes so that you can take the hike so that you can run the marathon so that you can show up. And you can actually do, even when it’s weird, messy, awkward, embarrassing. I don’t care. I don’t care because I’ve already done it. I’ve already been embarrassed. I’ve already been awkward. I’ve already heard no.
(19:39)
I’ve already got persecution. It’s it’s fine. I’m here. I’m still standing. What’s up? What’s up? I’m not scared. Are you? Are you still scared or you ready to get unstuck? You got to push through the pain. So this fourth one every day, sisters, 10, 15 minutes with God in the morning is my favorite. Get in the word, get in the SOAP Bible study. Do one thing every day.
(20:10)
That gets you closer to realizing that vision of your life that you wrote down. Just one thing. If you wrote down on that vision to get healthy and fit, what can you do today? Can you just swap maybe the second donut for an apple? That’s one thing. Yes, sister. If you wrote down, get to the a hundred thousand, make the financial breakthrough. Did you start the podcast yet?
(20:37)
Can you just pitch yourself with a little more audacity and excitement next time? Great. You’re winning. Yes. Moving the needle forward in the life. God has created for you is not overnight. It is a long-term commitment to growth. It is a long-term commitment to being uncomfortable, to being challenged, to being awkward, weird and sweaty. Okay? Like this isn’t easy stuff here, but in order to rise up to the 1% and be a difference maker, you have to start, you have to step up.
(21:15)
So to recap. In order to get unstuck, step one, a new vision of your life for the next 12 months. Write it in the day of, in present tense a year from no. Get really specific. I want you to hit every area of your life, and I want you to think of it through a biblical lens. What does God want for you?
(21:31)
Number two, you’re going to then pull out of your vision statement. All of the goals that you’ve written down, highlight them, write them on a separate sheet. Step three. You’re going to then reverse engineer each goal into monthly, weekly, and daily mini goals for yourself that you can begin to what? Step four, actually take action on at least one thing every day. One thing that pushes you, challenges you makes you stretch just a little bit more one a day, partnered with renewing your mind with God every morning so that he can help you on this new walk.
(22:10)
And that is my formula that I’ve been using for years when it comes to goal setting and vision casting in my life. But ultimately? How to never be stuck, never. All right. There’s a couple of days where you might need a minute, but in the grand scheme of things, you’re growing, you’re scaling, you’re increasing your perseverance and the purpose that God has for you.
(22:36)
You are getting closer and closer and closer to the ultimate going from called to chosen, right? Going to the ultimate breakthrough of purpose here, of service here of meaning. You want a life of meaning and fulfillment. Stop giving up on who God has created you to be stop saying, okay, to what the world has said you are. Stop accepting excuses as normal or wanting and wishing and start actually doing. That’s how you get unstuck.
(23:15)
Father. I pray today. I lift up these women, these incredible people, listening to this episode, push them, stretch them, work through them. Father, do a work in them so that you can do a work through them. Let the Holy Spirit come from head to toe, let it overflow in them here and now, so they can make the choices to make a difference.
(23:34)
I pray that you are partnered with them, that you are pushing them, that you are working with them, that you give them the courage, the perseverance, the mindset, and the heart shift to begin to be a difference in your kingdom, that they begin to let go of the fears of the, of the definitions of what the world says that they are. And they begin to challenge those definitions so that they can be who you say that they are.
(23:58)
Give them a barrier and an armor against persecution, judgment, feelings of lack or inadequacy. And that you just wrap them up in who you say that they are, which is an incredible courageous world-changing God-fearing woman who is unafraid, unapologetically on afraid of what the world is going to say do or think about them. Give them that courage father. We trust you. We love you in Jesus name, amen. Love and light, Stef.
