(00:00):
Hey all! I am Kathy Lanham with kathylanham.com and I’m kind of an anomaly here because I’m not actually one of Stef’s students. I am a lurker, one who’s been blessed greatly by the podcast, even though I am not Stefanie’s original ideal client. I’m a Lolita. I’m not a Lola.
(00:20):
I’m a Christian mom, but my children are grown. I’m an entrepreneur, still doing all the things, but podcasting isn’t one of them, but still, I gain such insights, listening to Stefanie do clarity calls with others that I am routinely sharing the podcast out and seeing how folks can get from their hot mess and ideas to a podcast are just amazing to me.
(00:44):
And of course, her clarity coaching is amazing. And I gleaned so much from her teaching and sharing that I just keep coming back. The truth she speaks crosses industries and has truly been a positive voice in my life and in my business.
(01:00):
And now that she’s rebranded, I am so excited to be in the club, along with all you other Larry’s and Lolita’s and even Betty’s. So thanks, Stef. I’m glad you let us all in the club.
(01:13):
Hi, Kathy. Oh my goodness. I love this so much. Yes, my Lolitas and my Larry’s, everybody is welcome here, welcome home, to The Stefanie Gass Show.
(01:26):
And today I have a super fun, quick tip Tuesday for y’all and I can’t wait to dig into this juicy question from Gabe Cox. And she’s asking how the heck Stef, do you know what is coming up and naturally integrate your call to action within each of your episodes?
(01:46):
So I’m so excited to share with you, guys, kind of my un-strategic yet oddly, strategic advice about making sure that you’re marketing naturally, authentically, but also strategically inside of every single episode. So let’s go ahead and dig in.
(03:10):
Hi, Stef! This is Gabe Cox from the Red Hot Mindset Podcast and a P2P student this round, super excited about that. My question comes in the form of content planning when it comes to adding in a CTA, a call to action. I know when I’m listening to your podcast, I feel like it flows so nicely.
(03:32):
And it’s almost like you had it all planned out really strategically, knew what call to action, knew when your next webinars were gonna be, knew when all these next things were gonna be, so you could promote them in a good standard fashion.
(03:45):
My goal and my intention this year is to really be intentional about adding a call to action each episode in a natural way, kinda like you do. You’re really good at that. But I do struggle with planning ahead in the form of having things flow nicely.
(04:03):
I have a lot of content ideas and in my paper planner, I actually use little post-it notes for my video ideas, my podcast ideas, and then I can kind of be flexible with them and move them around until I record. And then they become permanent in my Asana.
(04:21):
But, do you have any advice on or any systems that work for you on how to make that content flow really well when it comes to adding in the CTAs, doing the series, and different things like that? I’d love to hear it. Thanks so much!
(04:36):
Hi, Gabe! Thanks for asking this awesome question. I love it and I actually have four steps for you to really help you create that call to action that feels authentic in your heart.
(04:50):
But also that’s timely and knowing what the heck you’re marketing, when, so that your audience doesn’t have whiplash, and they’re not like, whoa, we’re marketing this today and Ooh, marketing that today, and this is confusing. I so get that.
(05:04):
So the four steps that we’re gonna go through today begin with number one, having an annual promotion calendar. Now I really hope, I really truly hope and pray that every single one of you listening to that has under 500,000 downloads is only marketing one thing.
(05:26):
Now I’m okay if you’re marketing one thing, plus coaching breakthrough calls, just to get to know your avatar, please don’t have two courses or three or four, please don’t have a tiny offer and an academy you’re going to have such a hard time scaling, believe me, I have three things.
(05:45):
It is excruciatingly difficult to scale three things cuz your avatar is at three different places. And so you’re constantly marketing to somebody who might be here and might be here and might be here. You don’t need to do that. You guys can create a half a million dollar to a million-dollar business on one product alone. Period.
(06:03):
So, number one is having a promotion calendar. I teach this in Podcast to Profit, Gabe. So you’re gonna learn all about this.
(06:09):
But what we’re gonna do is actually set up an annual promo calendar in Asana so that you know what you are marketing when, when you’re launching stuff every single month for 12 months from today. It’s so nice. It’s super clean.
(06:24):
Number two is you’re gonna need to have a podcast episode tracker. Now those of you that have taken Podcast Pro University, the tracker is right in the course. You just download it. You can pop it over into a Google sheet document. And it has every episode that you’ve done along with the episodes that are coming up.
(06:44):
Now you’re not gonna know every episode that’s coming up, but you are gonna know what you’re promoting because you have your promotion calendar. So when I look at my podcast tracker, Gabe, I can actually see, I have it dated all the way out through the end of March.
(07:02):
And I know I have a promotion coming up in a week. That’s gonna go, well, actually the promotion that’s happening right now when this airs, The Business Bundle it’s going on right now. And so I knew that’s coming up. So I’m able to strategically choose the questions that help market the things that I’m marketing.
(07:23):
And I know that, what else is coming up when I look in March, am I marketing anything? What’s happening? I know that. So that as I fill in all of my episodes, they can correspond to what I’m marketing. I wouldn’t have or know this information without my promotion calendar. So that’s why that’s super critical.
(07:42):
And then you just pull over your promotion from the promo calendar and pop it into your podcast tracker. You, guys, have all of this information. You have the podcast tracker in Podcast Pro University course. And you learn all about the promotion calendar and the rest of this stuff I’m about to go through in Podcast to Profit mastermind.
(07:59):
And if you’re new around here, it’s okay. Welcome to the party. You’re gonna get started with The Business Bundle. The thing that’s happening this week, where you get to get started building out this business with my CYC course and my PPU course, plus you get Chelsi’s Systemize Your Life course and Polly’s Faith-Filled Business Blueprint.
(08:20):
Go to http://www.stefaniegass.com/courses. So do the things, promise you investing in your business we’ll return a priceless ROI. Every time I’ve ever invested in myself, I have gotten so much growth.
(08:44):
I’ve gotten there faster, and I didn’t have to take this crazy winding road. I was able to go straight shot to the end result of what I wanted to do. I walked the path that someone else had already walked in my own way, of course, partnered with God, but it just cut out confusion.
(09:01):
It cut out Google university and duct-taping my business together. And I promise you it’s so super worth it. So if you’re like, I’m getting started, I really wanna do this right, I wanna get clarity on my calling so I can build out a business model just like Gabe or just like Stef, http://www.stefaniegass.com/courses.
(09:20):
Moving on. Number three, Gabe. The third step is you’re gonna look out one to two months at a time. So as I’m looking at my podcast tracker here that I have in Google sheets, I can see all the way out from today, today’s time of recording is actually January 27th, but I know that this is airing on February 1st.
(09:42):
So I know that I’m gonna talk about what? The Business Bundle, which I just talked about. So, see how I naturally integrated The Business Bundle right into the marketing of the show. And it was just natural. Now, this is not gonna be natural for all of you when you get started, which is why going.
(09:59):
So number three was looking at one to two months at a time. You’re gonna put that in your tracker. I know what I’m marketing all the way through the end of March. I know what I’m marketing all year long, but for this purpose of recording this episode, I know what’s happening.
(10:14):
Now, that brings us to point number four, which is when it’s not natural for you to authentically just casually market a CTA, like letting it flow right off of your tongue. It didn’t use to be natural for me either. What I referred to was my avatar clarity statement, which we built together in P2P week one. Gabe, you have that.
(10:33):
It’s priceless. Those of you that don’t know what that is. Get ready. Cuz when you do Podcast to Profit with us, you are gonna have your mind blown with the incredible, I’m giving you my secrets to how I’m so good at copy or how you guys are like, how are you like a wordsmith?
(10:50):
Things just flow because I’ve done the work and I’m gonna show you how to do the work as well. So you’re gonna use your avatar clarity statement, Gabe, to market. You’re also gonna use story mapping, which we’re about to learn in week two of Podcast to Profit.
(11:06):
The whole point is like, you’re just gonna connect with your audience, using all the incredible things we’ve learned so far in Podcast to Profit to tell them why they need the thing and then to tell them, how your thing solves that problem.
(11:21):
And then you obviously don’t forget to give them links and that’s it. Guys, sales and call to action are simply about getting someone to believe and trust that you potentially have the answer for them. And then having them go look at it because they don’t have to decide today.
(11:36):
Unless you’re gonna buy The Business Bundle, you do have to decide today. But if they’re like, oh, I might buy that thing later, I might buy Gabe’s coaching later, whatever, we just want them to start thinking about it.
(11:46):
We wanna open their heart to the possibility that Gabe is the coach for them or that Gabe’s program is the right answer for them. And we do that by casually connecting in a trustworthy fashion that makes them feel seen, heard, and validated.
(12:02):
And then we tell them why we have the answer to their number one problem. And we just wanna stay in line with whatever it is that we’re marketing that month.
(12:12):
So if I’m marketing for, obviously right now, the end of January through the first week of February, The Business Bundle, I need to not market other things because that gets very confusing.
(12:22):
Now, I have mentioned Podcast to Profit today, but that’s just because a lot of the content that I’m referring to you, guys, learn in there, but from a podcast episode perspective, I’ve focused on starting your business. We talked about the seven components of a super productive power business.
(12:41):
I talked about where to start with building a successful online business. That’s coming up. We also have the episode coming out on the seventh is What Does Scripture Say about Your Calling – Five Ways to Figure it out?
(12:52):
So if you notice, I’m really targeting and tailoring my content to the person who’s ready to get started and get clarity on building their business so that they can partner making profit, income, and impact with what God’s created them to do.
(13:08):
And the reason is we’re marketing The Business Bundle and that is the opportunity that I have and the solution and I have for people right now, this week, and this month. So there you go. I hope that that made sense. Let’s quickly recap.
(13:20):
Number one, you’re gonna have an annual promo calendar. I use Asana. Love it. It’s my fav. Use whatever you want. Just make sure that you have a month’s worth of promotion lined out and mapped out. What should you promote? How often? Don’t worry. You’re gonna learn all about that in P2P.
(13:35):
Number two, you need to have a podcast episode tracker and that’s simply your download from Podcast Pro U. You’re gonna go out, number three, one to two months at a time. And then number four, you’re gonna pull up the main points from your avatar clarity statement and your story mapping.
(13:50):
Basically, you’re gonna highly connect with your person and you’re gonna tell them why you have been there. Why your thing solves the answer and they’re gonna give them a link to go check it out. No pressure, low pressure. Welcome open arms. Come see if this is for your type of thing.
(14:06):
People love an invitation, not a push. Sometimes they need a push, but they love an invitation to come to see if things are right for them. All right, Gabe, I hope this blessed you.
(14:15):
And friends, if you have a question for me, head on over to stefaniegass.com/contact, leave us a SpeakPipe review or testimony today. Whichever, we would love to feature you on the show.

(14:54):

If the tug is on your heart, it is there on purpose. Let’s do the work stefaniegass.com/courses. I’ll see you on Thursday.
