defeat the enemy, strongholds and spiritual warfare
Hey Friend!
We are going to be talking about three reasons your podcast is glorifying to God. What an amazing concept. Sometimes we get extremely hyper-focused on ourselves and how a podcast can serve us, by way of growing our business and generating leads. Yes, a podcast can do all those things, but what I have really come to understand is that my podcast is one of the most God-honoring vehicles I have inside my business.
I pray that these three reasons help alleviate any pressure that you may have when it comes to the success of your podcast. We want our podcast to be God honoring and this will relinquish this pressure you have on yourself. Allow yourself to show up for your podcast and be excited about serving your audience. Remember, it’s all HIS and you can rest easy knowing that you are doing good work for the kingdom through the podcast.
Reason #1 – Helping People
The first reason your podcast is glorifying to God is because it helps people. How many times in scripture have we heard that we are to help others? Scripture also tells us to be kind to our neighbors, to give, and to love more deeply as well as unconditionally. That’s exactly what you are doing through your podcast! We just completed a round of market research for our company. The biggest thing that you wanted for yourself in your business was to help people. You show up and teach something on your podcast,
Whether you are nervous
Your voice shakes
You feel like you don’t have the best microphone
Your editing isn’t good enough
And you only have 3 listeners,
you are still helping someone. Helping one person through your gifting is ultra-glorifying to God because you are trusting Him.
You trust that He will give you the right people for your audience. Your faith in God, that He will use your story to teach others, is glorifying. Being vulnerable in your story and sharing your past experiences is what God uses you for in order to grow His kingdom. Your guiding of even just one person along their journey is pleasing to God. You were meant to share your trials and traumas. That’s your testimony. Someone else is going to learn from you and how you overcame that situation. It’s honoring to God that we are helping people through our testimonies, through our stories.
Remove Yourself From The Big Picture and Focus on Honoring God
When it comes to showing up on your podcast, helping people in the niche you were called to serve is honoring God. Remove yourself from the bigger picture of:
Do I have enough people?
Is it doing what I need my podcast to do in order to grow?
Is it making money?
These are all important questions, but the most important question is did I show up and serve today? Did I give something on the podcast that can help someone else? If that’s “Yes” then you are doing the right thing. You are showing up for Him.
Reason #2 – Stewarding Your Gifts In Obedience
The second reason why your podcast is glorifying to God is that you are stewarding your gifts in obedience. There are so many Bible verses that support us using our gifts in accordance with God’s will while we are on this side of Heaven. The Bible verse 1 Peter 4:10 says “As each has received the gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s grace.” We are to use our giftings as good stewards. When you build a podcast that is strategic and extremely niched to what you are called to do, it should be in accordance with your gifts.
If your gift is empowering and encouraging couples by helping them restore their marriage, why would you start a podcast about how to organize your refrigerator? Or vice versa. If your gift is organization, follow God’s lead. That is a true gift that God wants you to share with the world. I think sometimes you minimize your giftings, thinking the thing you’re really good at is not glorifying God. But that’s a lie straight from the enemy. Whatever you are good at, God gave that to you for a purpose. Someone else is out there praying for that particular thing, needing help and you are the person to help them.
You can have a gift in any of these particular areas:
Getting your kids to listen better
How to organize your home
Best decluttering tips and hacks
How to restore your marriages
You may be a powerhouse life coach
Or a lawyer
You help authors create books
And so many more giftings. It doesn’t matter what your gift is. Whatever it is you do is enough for God. A podcast is such a beautiful way to share your giftings with the world. It takes obedience to show up.
James 1:17 “Every Good Gift and Perfect Gift is From Above…”
It’s terrifying — I know. The first time I plugged in my microphone I was absolutely terrified. The first time I spoke was awkward and I made a lot of mistakes along the way. It took 3 years of podcasting before I felt like I finally had a good handle on things. It wasn’t perfect, but I kept showing up in obedience. I continued to speak, to help, and to mentor. That’s what scripture asks of us.
James 1:17 says “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father whom there is no variation or shadow.” If God is good, He is the same yesterday, today, and always, and He gives us the gift, a good and perfect gift, and the gift comes from Him, who are we to question the gift? Who are we to say we are not enough, we shouldn’t or we can’t? The podcast is simply a way to show up and shine in your gifting and glorify God.
Reason #3 – Intentional Time
The very last reason your podcast is glorifying to God is that it allows you to spend your time intentionally. I was not glorifying God in the way I was building my business before having my podcast. I was:
Addicted to social media
Addicted to my phone
Wanting to show up everywhere
Always striving for more
Hustling
Feeling frantic
And desperate
It wasn’t good. I was idolizing something, whether it was trying to make money or trying to find clients. Now, I am able to podcast in less than two hours a week and publish two episodes a week on the show. We repurpose the content for YouTube and the blog. I love the organic growth that my company has because of the time we save. All I need to do is put out two episodes a week, repurpose my content, and my work is done. Granted, I do have help from my team now, but there was a time when I was first starting out and did not have help. Now, I have been able to grow my business to become a seven-figure company. Think about how you are going to best grow your business.
In 5 Years I Grew My Kingdom Lead Business into A 7-Figure Company
Five years ago, I was in your shoes, just getting started with my podcast. Within one year I had a six-figure business, in two years it was multi-six-figures, and five years later after getting started we had a seven-figure company. The podcast has been the vessel for all of it. I just had to devote two hours a week of my time to my podcast.
When I stopped marketing on social media and stopped putting up reels, it gave me back 10-15 hours a week. That is glorifying God. Choosing the right marketing method that allows us to reach people all across the world in less time so we can have that time back to be with Him. This time saved can give us more time with our children, it allows us to pour into our spouses more and to shepherd our homes better as well as be better stewards of our health. God wants those things for us. He loves us so much.
Just like you would want the best things for your child, God wants that for us as well. Having a life that supports being able to do all of those things because of podcasting is glorifying to Him. Having that intentionality in my time is truly a gift He has given me — it’s the podcast that has allowed that to happen.
I pray that these three reasons your podcast is glorifying God have helped you release any pressure and find some peace in the podcasting journey. Just know that it’s all for Him.
