defeat the enemy, strongholds and spiritual warfare
Hey Friend!
I know you! Whether you have a podcast, an online course, or a coaching business, you work hard to create content that serves and helps your ideal client. But you do a lot more than grow your online business. You are raising a family, serving in your community or church, and increasing your faith. Thinking about how to repurpose your content may not even be on your radar.
But did you know you must work smarter in your business, not harder or more hours, to grow your business? The best way to work smarter is to take one piece of long-form content and repurpose it. Repurposing content means using one piece of content again on other social platforms, such as Pinterest or your website, as a blog post, article, or PR opportunity.
Whether you are a solopreneur or have a team behind you, repurposing content helps you work smart, scale your online business, and help more people. I want to share 15 ways to repurpose a single podcast episode into multiple content streams. However, I don’t want you to try all 15 methods. That would be a huge distraction and lead to burnout.
Choose two over the next 30 days or until you have simplified and systemized the process and it works. After 30 days, add two more things. This is called stacking. Don’t look at how many strategies someone else uses in their business. Choose your two and do them with excellence until you have successfully streamlined and scaled them. Then, you can consider adding two more.
Repurpose Content Strategy #1: Offer a Full Transcription of the Episode
A full transcription of your podcast episode makes it available to the hearing impaired and those who prefer to read while listening to audio content. This full transcription can be on your website or inside the podcast episode description. Until you are ready to start a blog or have the resources to start a blog, the full transcription can act in place of a blog. Resources like Temi can transcribe your podcast episode for you.
Content Strategy #2: Write a Blog Post From the Podcast Episode
Writing a blog post from your podcast episode is a fantastic way to repurpose episode content. A blog found on your website is long-form content that you own and cannot be taken down or lost after 24 hours like a social media post can. A blog is great for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and embedding keywords. It lives on the internet to be found next week, next year, or 5 years from now drawing people back to you, your product, services, or coaching.
Inside my group coaching program, Podcast to Profit Mastermind, you can learn how to write high-quality SEO-rich blogs from your podcast. If you are interested in a next-level group coaching program that teaches you how to grow your listenership and monetize your podcast, check out Podcast to Profit Mastermind.
Repurpose Content Strategy #3: Create Short Informational Pieces
A third way to repurpose podcast episode content is to make short informational snippets. This can look like mini blog posts, an article featured on your website, or an article submitted to a platform such as HARO (Help a Reporter Out) now accessed via Connectively. The idea behind HARO (powered by Connectively) is that you can join a community of journalists, content creators, PR pros, and subject matter experts to collaborate and grow your brand.
Content Strategy #4: Make Quote Graphics
Another way to repurpose podcast episode content is to make quote graphics. This means taking a noteworthy mic drop statement and turning it into a quote graphic. The exact quote graphic can be pinned on Pinterest or shared on social media with a link driving followers back to your podcast episode. Also, include these quote graphics inside blog posts.
Repurpose Content Strategy #5: Film Short Video Clips
A fifth way to repurpose podcast episode content is to video record while recording your audio episode. Use resources like QuickTime, your iPhone, and Audacity to simultaneously record the video and audio. One episode can be used for video and audio content on audio podcast platforms, your website blogs, social media reels or stories, and YouTube videos and shorts.
With video and audio, you have a long-form and short-form content strategy operating simultaneously to drive traffic back to your podcast episode. However, the best recommendation is to begin video content after your podcast is running and flourishing. This is to focus on one thing and do it well until it is systemized and successful. Then you can add the second thing to your business and marketing strategy.
Content Strategy #6: Make Audiograms of a Podcast Episode
Another way to repurpose content is to make audiograms. Much like short video clips, an audiogram is a brief audio clip that highlights your podcast episode, grabs potential listeners’ attention, and gets them curious. Combine the audio clip with a graphic and link and lead them back to your full podcast episode. Audiograms can also be used to market your coaching or courses. Resources such as Headliner can be used to make audiograms.
Infographics are a great way to repurpose content as they are graphic visual representations of information or tips that you want to highlight from your episode. The infographics can be shared on social media, Pinterest, and in blog posts. Share a link with the infographic to drive them back to the podcast.
Content Strategy #8: Make a Slide Deck or Presentation
Repurpose content by making a slide deck or a presentation from an episode. It’s unnecessary to do this for every episode, but for highly consumed podcast episodes and your top downloaded episodes, a slide deck or presentation can grow your podcast audience, gain more coaching clients, and promote your course. Take the podcast episode content and turn it into a micro training, a freebie to grow your email list, or a bonus offer added to a course or coaching offer.
Repurpose Content Strategy #9: Create an eBook or Guide From a Podcast Episode
Like Method 8 of making a slide deck or presentation, you can repurpose content as an eBook or Guide. Spend time and effort creating an eBook or Guide with content highly converting and highly desired by your ideal person. Offer this eBook or Guide as a freebie to grow your email list, a bonus offer added to a course or coaching offer, or a special gift for your email list.
Content Strategy #10: Hold a Question and Answer Session
A Q&A Session is a great way to attract new podcast listeners and nurture existing ones because it encourages engagement. It also works well with coaching students or hosting a question-and-answer session inside a Facebook group, recording it, and sharing it as a podcast episode.
Transcribe the Q&A and write it as a blog post. Then, post the same questions asked in the Q&A Session on social media as polls. There are many ways to repurpose the content of a question-and-answer session.
Repurpose Content Strategy #11: Send an Email Newsletter Highlighting a Podcast Episode
Don’t overlook email newsletters when repurposing content and nurturing your community. Send one email a week to your audience and highlight your latest podcast episodes inside the newsletter. Simply take snippets of content from the episode and share them in your email. Or tell a story based on the theme of the episode to attract the interest of your email reader and create a connection.
Inside my group coaching program, Podcast to Profit Mastermind, you’ll learn how to craft highly converting emails and set up email marketing tech. Join hundreds of other students growing their podcasts, expanding their online coaching business, and making an impact by serving and helping people for God’s Kingdom inside Podcast to Profit Mastermind.
Content Strategy #12: Share on Social Media
Another way to repurpose content is to share it on social media. Use audiograms, infographics, and short video clips to share your podcast episodes and blogs on social.
Have a love-hate relationship with social media? Curious as to whether or not social media will help grow your podcast, coaching, or courses? Check out the podcast episodes on social media as a method for growing your online business on the Online Business for Christian Women Podcast. Access the Podcast Catalog here (Guide 4) and search over 800 episodes about podcasting, growing an online business, creating a course, and coaching.
Repurpose Content Strategy #13: Use a Promotional Teaser for Podcast Episodes
Pull out a short segment from an episode where you give a good hook, like a video clip or audiogram. Next, explain the episode or a clear call to action. Lastly, use the clip as a teaser for promotion purposes on social media, Pinterest, or inside your email newsletter.
Content Strategy #14: Offer Guest Blog Posts or PR Articles
Much like Method 3, another way to repurpose podcast content is guest blog posts or PR articles. Use your top-performing podcast episodes as a basis for articles you can submit to successful blogs, magazines, journals, and PR opportunities.
A platform such as HARO (Help a Reporter Out), now accessed via Connectively, allows you to do guest blogging or article contributions. The idea behind HARO is that you can join a community of journalists, content creators, PR pros, and subject matter experts to collaborate and grow your brand.
Repurpose Content Strategy #15: Host a Webinar or a Live Stream to Discuss Your Podcast Content
One final way to repurpose a podcast episode is to host a webinar or a live stream discussing the content. Have a Friday coffee chat or go live inside your Facebook group and discuss the latest podcast episodes. This is a fun way to encourage engagement and connection with the listeners inside your podcast community.
You Have 15 Strategies to Repurpose Content, Don’t Use Them All At Once
Now, you have 15 ways to repurpose a single podcast episode. Resist the urge to do all 15 strategies at once. This will only dilute your efforts, burn you out, and spin your wheels. For this reason, choose two for 30 days or until you have systemized the process and it works. After 30 days, add two more things.
